For those who think the regular flu is just as bad or worse -

In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died. That's in the United States.

If 60% of the US population of 331M gets COVID-19 - That's 198.6M people. If .7% of those people die that's 1.39M people dead.

The numbers aren't even close to being the same.

They just reported the first two cases in Steuben County NY. That is where I live.

Anyone with half a mind knew it was here a few weeks ago, just not confirmed.

Many individuals are trying to say that covid-19, although bad, is not as bad as the normal flu. It may be time to look at this again, from a slightly different angle.

Per medicinenet.com, the seasonal flu season kills in between 291,000 to 646,000 people worldwide each year. They acknowledge this is higher than the previous estimate of 250,000 to 500,000. The article also states that the risk of death is higher in poorer regions of the world and the elderly.

Covid-19 has predominately been in the more advanced nations of the world. So far only 10,524 individuals have died from it. So, comparing 10,524 to 250,000 it appears that the flu is deadlier.

BUT … are those numbers actually really a correct comparison to each other? My thoughts are no, and let me explain why. Take any of the flu numbers (250,000 – 691,000) and divide by 365 days. The results show that on average 684 – 1,893 individuals die on a daily basis. Remember this is an average estimate based on a number of years of study.

Covid-19 has resulted in 10,524 deaths, or 29 deaths a day, based on 365 days a year. But, for the last 3 days the actual death rate has been 859 / 937 / 1,252 versus the flu daily average of [684 – 1,893]. The number of daily deaths has been normally growing each day, there are days when there have been slight decreases, but then by the next day it surpasses the previous few individual days. So taking 1,252 times 365 we come up with a number of 456,980 as the number of deaths we could see for a year. So is the flu extremely worse 250,000 – 646,000) versus covid-19’s potential [456,980] deaths a year?

Side Note: Yes, I did take the most recent number, which is the highest number, but I do not yet see this number beginning to trend down. These numbers came from a personal spreadsheet that I have put together for my own personal viewing, using the numbers provided by BNONEWS, with a cutoff of about 23:59 GMT each day.

You only have to listen the Italian and other doctors speak to know this is far worse than the flu!

What happened to the thread that was titled something like 'Who here actually HAS coronavirus or knows someone who does?'
did it get deleted?

As I recall no one knew or had it.

UK, France and Italy numbers are late out today. Wonder if there is a reason for this. It makes me a little nervous.

Sorry, just noticed UK has actually added 40 new deaths.

I know of 3 that do have it confirmed via the USAF, 1 active duty, 1 reservist and a cashier at the chow hall.

I know a 4th under quarantine because of direct physical contact with one of the confirmed.

UK report from a small town, Midlands UK.
So, today, I see a crazy amount of traffic, and people moving about in cars. The traffic is heavy. Many trucks, but also a lot of people in cars... I have this weird feeling that the hopemongering by political heads has bolstered a more carefree attitude?

I don't know what it is, but clearly the number of people I am seeing does not match the general advice being given.
I'm kind of dumbfounded by it. It actually looks like a busy bank holiday level of activity out there. Yesterday, the day before that, traffic was low and more what I'd expect, but today is weird.

It is clear to me at this point, that there is a clear plan by "the powers" to make sure mass infection. If it is a psyop for a powergrab, then it clearly isn't very effective. If there is any kind of manipulation going on, then it is to increase the infection rate, not quell it.

That's all I got... oh, and the fish and chip shop continues to open.

Could it have been people getting where they need to be for a lockdown? I know that my family in the UK have plans to get to a specific family members house that is off grid and has a sustainable food and water supply. They are making last minute plans now and heading there this weekend. Just wondering if it could be a lot of people getting things in order knowing what is coming... probably just wishful thinking.

Hmm nicely played. How to prevent a bank run due to the corona virus. Close the branches and then limit how much can be withdrawn from the banking machines. Currently $1000. That can be changed just like that. Next it will be $500, then $100 and then $0.
Next up. Money is dirty and you will get sick if you touch it.

Here is a concerning quote from the article you linked. They seem to know a lot about this virus.

link

Dr. Robert Glatter, an ER physician at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan …
“The bottom line is that there are so many false claims,” he said. “And they seem to proliferate as fast as the illness.”

The National Institutes of Health has also cautioned that “alternative” treatments are ineffective against Covid-19.

High doses of vitamins A, C and D also do nothing to protect from the virus,

Dr. Glatter said. “Vitamin A and D in high quantities can be toxic to the kidney and liver,” he said. Vitamin C is not recommended in large doses, as it could affect hydration. Diet modification does not work either, he added.

Definitely not good. Last time I checked Oneida county had four. Good luck. Here's the latest:
www.wktv.com...

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) - New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo is ordering all workers in non-essential businesses to stay home and banning gatherings statewide. Cuomo says he'll sign an executive order Friday. He also says non-essential gatherings of individuals of any size or for any reason are canceled or postponed. According to the governor's website, businesses considered essential include: shipping, media, warehousing, grocery and food production, pharmacies, healthcare providers, utilities, banks and related financial institutions, and other industries critical to the supply chain.

Yesterday I finally succeeded in getting my partner his meds. Happy Moment. Odd though it was given free of charge. I don't know what to make of that.
Meanwhile things became very real for my son who went on the last food run at King Soopers while picking up the meds. He called me and was shocked at what he was seeing. Up to this point I don't think he really understood and seemed to believe he had a special cloak of invincability. He is young.
His observations were very informative. All the usual things most have posted about were not available. A new rule has been implemented. Rationing of meat, produce and eggs. And they are enforcing it! For example only 3 pounds of ground beef per person.
That doesn't sound like a big deal but this is once again being slow walked. Today 3 pounds and by the weekend 1 pound. IMHO. Things are evolving very quickly.
There was real worry among all of the shoppers there. One man had a full cart of eggs. He explained he was delivering to elderly and ill neighbors. His eggs were confiscated.
Then my son had to go to Whole foods. I am going to post this separately.

His shopping experience at Whole Foods was completely different. No panic but they were out of chicken.

I would love someone to explain why this product was gone. 100%
Sparkling water.
There was not 1 bottle. No tonic water, no sparkling water of any type.
I suppose other peoples needs are other people's necessities.

Possibly some good news

"The incidence of COVID-19 is dramatically lower in malarial countries than in non-malarial countries, according to one researcher."
