* late today because South Africa is currently experiencing 4-8 hours per day without power (called loadshedding - currently in Stage 4)

1. 17 total cases (+4)
2. 1 is critical (underlying renal condition)
3. 1st case of community transmission
4. +- 120 citizens repatriated from Wuhan along with flight crew and medical staff to be quarantined for up to 21 days in a 4 star resort in the middle of a game park in Polokwane. Arriving in South Africa on Friday.

Two employees of Halifax's (Nova Scotia) passport office just showed symptoms of COVID19 after they recently returned from vacation in Italy.

Businesses on the downtown waterfront are quickly deciding to shut down or stay open.

its prob there already just haven't been enough testing to show it. In NY seems like you have to prac be on a deathbed for them to test you or if you travelled to one of the countries.

Things are happening faster here now.

Ontario had 18 new cases just confirmed - now at 60. Last news article says 59 but then a breaking news story of another case

i am not a maritime trade expert - but i can find multiple vessels that have all cast off in the last 6 hours - from major ports arround the workd - with stated destinations on other continents

I saw a few posts about it, but admittedly didn't check it out on my own. Lots of comments about empty loading docks in the busiest ports...

so, not all shipping, but a large part of it - and likely it will get much worse.

I am thinking that the people in charge are privy to info that us common folk dont have.

There might not be any publicly confirmed cases, but like here, no one new that there was actually someone supposed to be in quarantine either.
