Disney just closed Japan’s park.

Rumors on Twitter that US parks will be closed soon.

I still say Spring Break is a potential crapshow for the US. If historians point to a single event that distributed this widely across the country, it will end up being Spring Break.

I saw some headline about the guy who runs Disney stepping down or retiring or something as well. Didnt care so I didnt read past the headline. WOnder if the losses from having to shut down the park or the cost to have it cleaned properly... which would be crazy expensive... had anything to do with his decision.

there are people in the USA who dont own firearms???

So, I have a shotgun that is really old, like 100 years old or more. It's in great condition, but I have never fired it. It was my great grandpa's gun. It works well, you can cock it and fire and "reload". Would it be dangerous to fire this thing without getting it checked out first?

Take it to a gunsmith, please. Ask the gunsmith to tell you about the shotgun, ALL about the shotgun. If it's that old, it could well have a Damascus barrel which can be extremely dangerous using modern shotshell loads. Please, please find someone who knows about antique firearms and have a sit with them.

Make sure the barrel is cleared of obstruction and clean it as mentioned. If you're in a situation where you would need to fire it I'm sure it would be far more dangerous NOT to fire it.

I bought ammo for it the last time I "prepped" for anything and I honestly don't remember what I was prepping for. It was probably in 2007 when I joined this forum. What a waste it was to buy all the stuff I did. It all went unused and I ditched most of it. This is why I feel silly preparing now, but this is a real event and whatever I prepared for before was hypothetical it seemed. So, that allowed me to get over my past.

Iger told the investors' meeting 6 months ago that he would be stepping down in 2020 and fully stepping aside from the entire company by 2021. I honestly don't think Coronavirus played any role in him leaving.

The United States has its first novel coronavirus-related drug shortage, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

The maker of an unnamed drug that has recently been added to the FDA Drug Shortages list told the agency that the shortage is due to the coronavirus.

On Tuesday, the FDA warned that these types of shortages could happen, and said it was monitoring the situation closely. The agency identified 20 drugs that either solely sourced their active pharmaceutical ingredients, or produced finished drug products, from or in China.

The unnamed company that notified the FDA about a shortage said the problem is the result of an issue with the manufacturing of an active pharmaceutical ingredient used in the drug.

Made in China: The US relies heavily on Chinese-made drug ingredients, medical devices and drugs that are used in humans and animals. As of 2018, China ranked second among countries that exported drugs and biologics to the US, and ranked first for medical devices, according to the FDA.

Obligation to report shortages: The agency said Tuesday it has been in touch with 180 manufacturers to remind them that the companies have a regulatory obligation to notify the FDA if they anticipate any disruption to drug supplies. The agency asked companies to evaluate their supply chains in light of the coronavirus outbreak.

The FDA said it is working with the manufacturer that was recently added to the shortages list to try and mitigate the problem.

I just am not comfortable taking drugs made in China, I don't even buy food products made in China and that was long before this virus scare.

Maybe it's time for the U.S to have it's drug supply made somewhere else that is a little more sanitary.

yeah I trained with the SK a few times while i was in the Corps, needless to say im a bit suprised how bad its effecting them........When I heard it hit their shores I perked up, and still am........that and Japan, both places I was stationed at one point or another.

People should be concerned that its hitting them as hard as it is, as they are not 3rd or even 2nd world nations with their medical facilities.......

Its my opinion this is a bane to the US , the CDC and HHS, because people can see what its actually doing to a nation with good medical care....(at least close to the US)

The majority of the rest of America's pharmaceuticals are made in India... Drugs from China and India. Do you want plastic bulking agents in your pills or would you rather have e. coli in them? I agree 100% with you. American pharmaceuticals should be manufactured stateside, but then the combination of the regulations and the minimum wage laws would send the prices even more ridiculously high than they already are in absence of that overhead cost.

I inherited my grandpas coach gun.. its a fox dual trigger double barrel. NICE gun. He took perfect care of it ,but even then... I took it to have it professionally cleaned when I took possession of it.

Service your tools.

I also inherited his 50 cal black powder that almost blew my face off.. but thats a story for another time.

Really hate to thread drift, but a much better answer is: "if you need to ask that question, you should take it to a gun store with a gunsmith and have them check it for you."

Negative sir, at risk of thread drift, I would advise him to look up youtube vids on how to do it and educate himself, so that in the future he can do it himself, instead of relying on someone else to do it........

Never rely on another man to do the things you can learn to do......reliance where you can be sufficient is an obvious solution

Perhaps a solution would be have the manufacturing subsidized by the federal government to keep prices down, I'm sure tax payers would not mind paying into something like that...maybe..

This oughtto scare you.. in good ATS manner.
Our LAST penicillin plant closed here in the US in 2004. Since then.. until this moment.. it is manufactured in : CHINA. They have us by the bahoogies as far as their monopoly on our medical supplies AND drugs.
