Whilst typing this I realised that he COULD be referring to Ephesians 6:10-18:

Armor is referred to as a SUIT of Armor.

I remember having a work course on "Presenting an image to the client", where they described a modern suit as still representing a suit of armor:

Shoulder pads = Epaulletes,
Tie = Breast plate,
Shirt = chain mail,
kerchief pocket = where Lance was holstered,
pen = sword.
