Interesting, though wouldn't action have to come from the House? Could they impeach her? Maybe, I'm not enough of a scholar to know. A vote of censure makes sense to me. And yes, I would very much like to see Trump take the high ground here. Very much. Will he? Would he listen to his advisers who would advise this or would he listen to the hardliners who would press for her complete destruction.

I hoped that the democrats would not make her speaker in 18 but they did. I agreed with her when she was against impeachment. I disagreed when she went ahead with it. I did not like it when she tore up those papers.

the state of the union is so much more than partisan politics. It's pride, consumer confidence, and direction. So I choose to believe that our union is indeed strong. But it could use some unification.

Yeah, I get that and that is why her little snit was meaningless. Had she stood up and blew her nose at him or cried, it's all a farce, it's all a joke'' I would have been yowee. Kinda like when Trump first hit the Republican debate stage and blew up the farce that was.

I don't have the same illusions that many other have. I have no confidence in the notion that consumer confidence is what should hold an economy together. To me that is the farce, to build an economy on the ''wants'' or the ''whims'' of mindless consumerism. But if keeping on with that illusion is what our nation is about, if that is what is the overarching glue that holds civilization moving ahead, who am I do complain.

As an independent, I say give her a raise. That was priceless!
She pretty much turned a thinly-veiled MAGA rally on its head.

Really? Pulling down her pants and doing the other option would have been better don't you think.

Depending on what the other option is, it could have been funnier indeed.
Riskier, perhaps, where the FCC is concerned and such.
She could have mooned Trump, but maybe some in the TV audience would have felt like she was mooning them too.
(I'd still be ROTFLMAO.)
She could have taken a giant dump on that speech, but that has obvious risks as well--perhaps even borderline over the top.
Similar to last year's clap-back, ripping up his speech will likely prove to be just enough gas on the fire...

Why would she wipe the President's State of the Union Address across the back of her party's voter base's head?

I’m not really a fan of whataboutism.

I'm not a fan of blatant hypocrisy.

Think of the tree's that sacrificed themselves for such a perfect speech to be typed on them, only to be torn to pieces by a spiteful witch.

Hypocrisy is looking the other way or not caring with Obama robbing a bank and freaking out screaming impeachment when Trump steals a pack of gum in comparison. If anyone wants to compare Trump to Obama in misdeeds that would be fun thing to do, but I haven't gotten any takers in the past on that one, and even with Biden it was never about the 2020 election for Trump it was about the 2016 election with Biden just happening to be a front runner in all that crap. Now as I predicted a while back Biden might not even make it past super Tuesday, and so being 1 or 16 is much different than being the official DNC selection as Trump was the official RNC selection when the whole Watergate... oops I mean Dossier/FISA debacle went down. BIG differences in status there... The left has treated Biden as their pick this whole time and he comes in 4th with barely the needed 15%, and I bet he was below 15% and they magically push him up to keep him viable.

The House Ethics Committee will table the complaint. Just they tabled the complaint against Adam Schiff for his mobster parody.

Where was Matt's outrage when Trump altered a very important National Weather map with a sharpie, and then ordered the Department of Commerce to back up his lies?

Where was his outrage when the White House altered a video of Jim Acosta, to make it appear that he manhandled a White House aide in order to officially take his press pass away?

That doesn't matter.

It's not incumbent upon him to be fair as long as the facts he does present are accurate.

Get used to it.

Or present your own facts.

But they weren't. Hurricane Dorian wasn't aiming at Alabama and wasn't a threat to Alabama ever. It was case of Trump not being able to admit a mistake, and so he altered an official National Weather Service map filed with the Department of Commerce. with a sharpie to cover his mistake, and then ordered Wilbur Ross to make sure that his underlings backed Trump's lie.

That's a felony. Dramatically tearing up a speech, not so much.

I think it has a lot more to do with the manner she did it in front of the American people. Also it's said that's the official copy for the house. standard operating procedure is to bring on that one back to the house and archive it.

I think it should be archived as is. Let that be her legacy for future generations to see how far politics has- or has not- come since the 'Pelosi' days.

That is OK when we are talking about being hypocritical since to do that you would need to compare the past with the present in terms of how one views are actually hypocritical in nature. You throw words around as memes more than anything else with zero substance, and I try to put substance to it. To compare the actions of the last President with the present kind of drives what hypocritical means when we look at how the left acted back then compared to today.
