Even back then, a piece of paper...and other than books, not something uet considered a treasure type of onject since intrinsic value wasnt really worth much yet, but they understood it was important and not the others so they included no return envelopes with a request for the letters back. The official congressional copy was what is now invaluable. And now that time has passed and it is hostpory its imvaluable ten times over. No one member of congrewss can take the official speech the law or tradition (?) Says is to go to the speaker for archiving and destroy it. Having said all that however, funny thing is in this one case, in 300 years you could get a thousand bucks for his official speech recprd. The torn shreds of the speech after the Speaker destroyed it? Each scrap van probably fetch half a million. Too great a story behind it

The law is the law. It’s a statute and the document is a signed official government document. Maybe signatures on official documents mean nothing to you, but they are legal documents. Civil disobedience just because you don’t like the POTUS is not acceptable. This is what checks and balances is about and Nancy is mad she can’t take over and control the Executive Branch.
