“Tomorrow I will be filing charges against Nancy Pelosi in the House Ethics Committee,” Gaetz told Fox News’ Laura Ingraham on a Wednesday night episode of “The Ingraham Angle.” “She disgraced the House of Representatives, she embarrassed our country and she destroyed official records.”

Source

Normally, I would say let her constituents take care of her, but in this case, I think she should at least be reprimanded for her reprehensible behavior. If this had been a republican tearing up Obama's speech, the proverbial defecation would hit the fan and the media wouldn't be able to talk about anything else for a year.

The congressman continued, “The law does not allow the Speaker of the House to destroy the records of the House and the rules of the House do not permit some little temper tantrum just because you don’t like what the president of the United States says.”

Did she break the law? Meh, there's probably something they can hit her with but honestly, a public renouncement of her behavior and questionable ethics would be sufficient.

Matt has posted a copy of his complaint to Twitter

So...crucify her, or slap her hands? What do you think, and why?

Who would want to live in a country where ripping up a printed piece of paper, surely there's orher copies, in an act of civil disobedience, classy or not, gets you charged, and the public crying for you to be tarred and feathered?

Wtf is going on with you guys? Are you okay?

The House Ethics Committee will table the complaint. Just they tabled the complaint against Adam Schiff for his mobster parody.

Where was Matt's outrage when Trump altered a very important National Weather map with a sharpie, and then ordered the Department of Commerce to back up his lies?

Where was his outrage when the White House altered a video of Jim Acosta, to make it appear that he manhandled a White House aide in order to officially take his press pass away?

Absolutely agree, but as I said, if the situation were reversed...

I am a trump supporter, but this is stupid. Pelosi being Pelosi is punishment enough. Don’t give her a chance to be a martyr.

It's sad that after a lifetime as a public servant (yeah, I know) she will be remembered for something petty, mean-spirited, vindictive.

Well if it was the official House copy, then yeah it could very well be a crime since that would be unauthorized destruction of a public record.

If on the other hand it was just a copy for her to read along with, then no harm no foul. Imagine if Trump decided to tear up a bill that he needed to sigh, but decided not to instead and publicly tear it up. Imagine that instead … How would you feel about that? Would that be good decorum in a public setting like the State of the Union?

So to answer the "waterfront" (or whatever wtf means now days) question; it comes down to was the speech Pelosi tore up an official copy, or not?

It was a childish move on her part, and her looking like a fool for it is punishment enough.

There are piles upon piles of crimes that could be pursued in the house of reps.

Lets investigate those crimes, punish severely those who perpetrated them, clean up once and for all the rampant corruption.

When the smoke clears she'll be in prison anyway, so the issue will be moot.

The House ethics committee will not look into the complaint against Schiff because said committee is run by a Democrat.

As for Pelosi, she is on video destroying an official Federal record.

Which is a felony.

So to you, are Democrats held to a different standard then Republican lawmakers are?

Trump started that self congratulatory speech with a whopping lie. He had the balls to stand in front of that body and claim that the state of the union was stronger than it has ever been. What a whopper. The very fact that the vice president and the speaker of the house stood there waiting for Trump and never even looked at one another was more of an example of the state of the union than his lie. That she offered her hand to shake and was turned away from likewise is another example.

Here is my state of the union. '' The union is divided and torn asunder'' We are no longer one nation, we are two nations, each with little understanding of the other. Our only recourse as individuals is to label the other side as demented and traitorous. We are right and they are wrong. I am right and you are wrong." That is my ''state of the union'' and much closer to the truth than his '' we are stronger than ever before.'' crap.

what happened to "nobody is about the law"... yes she broke the law. the copy handed to her was the official transcripts to be entered into the national archive. she destroyed it:

Whoever, having the custody of any such record, proceeding, map, book, document, paper, or other thing, willfully and unlawfully conceals, removes, mutilates, obliterates, falsifies, or destroys the same, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both

It is a felony. But what you saw was not her destroying an official Federal record. What you saw was one of many many copies that had been given to her as a personal aid. It was not part of an official Federal record.
