Here's the thing though, the date she returned from Thailand, was the 19th of January. She first reported symptoms on the 25th or 26th if I remember correctly. Now think about the time window here. This woman caught the virus in Thailand, BEFORE the 19th of January.

You don't know that. She could easily have caught it on the return flight on the 19th.

On that date this thing was only getting properly started in China,

? Everything I've see says it was early December, and lots of evidence that it started earlier, in November or even October.

and there were ZERO cases in Thailand.

ZERO known cases.

It is interesting, and worth looking into further, but that is all.

The news link Textnews.sky.comnews.sky.com has something very important that is slipping under the radar.
Many are just focusing on the illness and how countries are responding [which is very important] but...
Which companies know more of what is occurring around the world?Textwhich companies know more of what is going on in the world?
Look at the end articles linked with this story.
"All the Ways China's Coronavirus Outbreak is Affecting Tech." Feb 10/20

Amazon has pulled out of the "Mobile World Congress" to be held in Barcelona due to concerns about the coronavirus. I was curious which other companies have changed plans.
Ericsson, LG, Nvida,NTT Docomo [Japan's largest wireless carrier] and Am
docs[Israel softwear provider].
Usually there are 500-600 attendees. No one is permitted from Wuhan province and any Chinese nationals must prove that they have not been on the mainland in the past 2 weeks.
No one can shake hands and the microphone is to be cleaned between speakers.
This is just now being reported by Business Insider but The Verge had reported this earlier.

Probably others will also pull out now that the really large companies have signaled that it is not safe.

Amazon Cloud computing would be a highlight there. Amazon is in a very good position with first hand knowledge at all types of information from what consumers are purchasing, what is trending but even more important what are companies such as health services buying?!

I had been hoping with the coming hot summer months in N America, this might die down, as flu & colds do. But after seeing the number of cases popping up in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, etc, it doesn't look like heat & humidity bother it all that much!

Guys the incubation period is now 24 days

They’re taking people out of houses in Manchester UK in full bio suits

It’s here and it’s all over the US and Europe

Prepare now it isn’t containable

They’ll lock up the sick with mild symptoms

They’ll only take people with servers cases

You need 6-1 years worth of long life food until this thing tapers off

JUST DO IT NOW

I wonder does anyone else think it's slightly strange that the "super spreader "in the UK first went to Singapore and then on to France where he infected 4 people in a ski chalet but they are reporting that he contracted the virus in Singapore ? What are the odds of that? There are only 45 cases currently in Singapore and this guy just happens to contract the coronavirus from one of these 45.. keep in mind there are over 5 million people living in Singapore.. those are some very long odds indeed. My thoughts are if he contracted this in Singapore there must be many many more than 45 cases there.

I see the question as sensible....

But, I travel quite a bit and on any given day I'm in direct or indirect persons, I'll just use the probability of 100 perday. (excluding surface contact)

Now, should the people I'm in contact with only come in direct or indirect contact with day 50 per day. That's 5k per day multiplied by a week....?

The on airplanes with 300 traveling each way coming and going and thier contact rate socially added. Combine that with a 24 day cycle ( now just announced).

That is what is astonishing.

Husband's company issued a travel advisory for all of Asia a long time ago, not just China, all of Asia. There was to be no non-essential travel, meaning there wouldn't be anyone going to conferences and the like. It would be necessary site to site type visits at most.

I agree but this whole case is very strange ,what also are the odds of the village in France where they caught the virus off him being called LES CONTAMINES the contaminated ? You literally couldn't make it up. If someone wrote this as a fiction novel people would say it was too unbelievable.

It doesn't mean contaminated tho.

I don't speak much French but
I just looked this up ,direct translation is "infect" . What do you think it translates as?

Direct translation rarely works - and also it is highly unlikely they would call a posh ski resort after any kind of infection.

Apparently it doesn't mean contaminated tho
It means “ploughable land on the squire’s estate”.

en.wikipedia.org... - Yh I know it's wiki but it's better than Google translate at this.

I can assure you cigarette smokers are going to be more susceptible as they are with virtually every single other virus in existence. Don't believe stupid crap. You would be one of the biggest fools on the planet to go out and start smoking cigarettes again because of some stupid rumor you heard on the internet. Don't even entertain the thought. reply to: butcherguy

Hit that nail on the head, didn’t ya!

I pointed out that this particular strain (whether or not man-made), features some interesting qualities. Seems without the lack of truthful info (no surprise there), ATS is on the case! You are all providing much synthesized and well-thought theories.

So Anyway - I mentioned that IF this is a bioweapon, then it’s doing its job, as ideally this type of pathogen is designed with the intent to overwhelm and systematically decimate medical staff and others scientific and professional technicians and operators from ”behind the lines”. The apparent slow burn and recent updates regarding Transmission, Incubation times, non-symptomatic Super Spreaders and the complete lack of honest and open discourse is naturally concerning, but again no surprise.

Anyone else think it’s complete BS that there’s “low-risk” from acquiring it from flying? I mean this is speculation without the Doom Porn angle, but f’in ay, it’s almost like without trying to do us all in, TPTB would rather this thing spread and deal later, than admit we all super **%#....

Food for thought...

Note: food didn’t get shipped from China

What may have happened is that they found a new outlier case that managed to go 22/23 days before developing symptoms so they pushed the quarantine period back.

The way the doctor on the series of medical videos I've been following explained it is that they tend to set the quarantine period a little longer than the longest case they can find just to be sure. That doesn't mean that most people will take that long to develop symptoms, but only that they found maybe one or two people who did. It could also mean they found an asymptomatic case who managed to shed for that long but never developed symptoms at all.

They may have set the new period based on the guy in the Canary Islands who was testing positive but not ill as far as anyone could tell. Of course, as far as anyone could tell, he didn't infect his roommates either.

But that may have set their new benchmark if this is true.

Best I can translate “ les contaminés montjoie” is “the contaminated cairn” cairn would be medieval (Scottish, Devon, Wales, Ireland ) as a burial site.
Take what you want from that.

From what I have read, smokers have more ACE2 in their lungs and therefore greater potential for the virus to take hold.

Fermented milk, like kefir, inhibits ACE2 and in many ways boosts the immune system.

I believe natural medicine will give us the greatest chance against this outbreak. Kefir and fermented foods, regular Epsom salt baths, good wholesome food, no processed food. The human body is capable of great feats, but only if it's been fed right and is running on full tanks of everything it needs.

Take some time on Google to look at what foods boost your immune system. Learn how to recognise locally growing medicinal plants. What's your best source of vitamin C that grows in the wild?

Why are children 'missing' from coronavirus outbreak cases?

The outbreak of a new coronavirus in China has killed more than 900 people, but one group has escaped with minimal damage: children.

Youth can certainly contract the virus. Among the infected are at least two newborns, according to Chinese health officials. But few children are among those sick enough to be diagnosed with the coronavirus, according to an article published Feb. 5 in theJournal of the American Medical Association. According to the data analyzed in that article — and numbers are changing quickly as the outbreak evolves — the median age of patients skews older, between 49 and 56 years old.

As a parent of young children, and assuming the data is correct, I'm glad to hear that children are having a better outcome with this virus.

But it does point to how the virus could spread very quickly in this country. It's been an unusually mild winter where I live but that has not stop my children from bringing home several colds this season.

Schools are virus factories and our society puts a lot of pressure on parents to send their children to school even when they are showing signs of a sickness.
