So basically you want to get the virus now before society collapses and you can't get simple medicines. Unless the virus stays with you even if you get over it like they say, then who knows how it will effect the immune system. Best not to get it at all then really...

My cousin is at university in Brighton.. he just sent me this as I messaged him this morning.

Ugh cant do that either as its jpg. Ok it basically says that a student has been taken off campus in an ambulance with a to be tested for coronavirus after being taken ill and he had recently returned from overseas (it doesn't state where though)

Don’t know if what I’m seeing is right or not, maybe reading to much into it, sate department said something like “ measures introduced are to delay spread of virus” and U.K. said something along same lines, that’s a language change that makes it look like this is inevitable and can’t be stopped now it’s just a question of when not if!

When it was just China I didnt know what to believe but now that other countries are acting that quickly with such force tells us something

Now you have to worry about the pipes connecting to your home?

I suppose you don't have to worry if you have a single family home , if your plumbing is up to code?

The thought had crossed my mind too, but weighing up the unknowns the same way you have, I think I'd rather take my chances and try and avoid it all together.

I don't see it getting past the hydraulic trap that happens at the bottom of the toilet, god knows how that particular building's plumbing was set up.

I just looked this up ,direct translation is "infect" . What do you think it translates as?

I am very much surprised that the sewer line vent pipes (popping out roof) of any dwelling... are not required to have a hazmat filter installed, so poisonous gas or particulates don't get injected into atmosphere !!


I suggested such to Phoenix authorities & was snickered at.... hope more deadly 'Valley Fever' strikes more people more severely---- until they wake up

same with China cities with population density issues

They have no idea how bad it might be, especially if the incubation period can be as long as 24 days.

24 days? Sorry, this is news to me. I thought officials and experts were pretty solid on that 5-14 day incubation period. Things have changed?

It would explain a lot of why China's situation is so dire and things have been "slow" in other countries so far

The thing is I don't think the UK is as ruthless as China has been, they look like by their extreme measures they are slowing the rates of infection, whereas in the UK the NHS will collapse, we won't build new hospitals in days and people here wont be as compliant with curfews and quarantines as in China.

Basically if it blows up here, I think we're screwed.

Forgive me as I know this has been discussed ad nauseam, and take this with a grain of salt as I am just a dumb illinois corn farmer and red blooded American...

The way I see the “official” numbers is that it is taking 14 days to recover on avg if hospitalized as the number added on feb 10 (wuflu.live) to “recovered” equals approx the number of new cases on Jan 25. Officially, the mortality rate is 20% approximately as 910 (recovered) is 20% of 4502 (A total of recovered plus dead). Now, I realize that the official numbers may not be associated with reality of the situation. What I do see though is that the outlook is grim if you are bad enough to need hospitalization. The real question is what percent of those exposed need care.

Everyone in the us knows the astronomical cost of a 14 days stay in the hospital in the US would be. Think about that.

Changing gears a little bit. About now the virus will be impacting the police in China, in a week or two the military. They have a better understanding of what happens to people when they are taken away. They have weapons. How will they respond? If the police force diminishes what happens to everyone who are locked in their buildings? Mass chaos on the streets?

Or US knew China had got their hands on the US's Ultimate Ultimate Weapon and would be working on a vaccine and so released it in the perfect location (major international hub) at the perfect time of year (just prior to Chinese New Year) for maximum effect, with a nearby lab for cover story.
