This is what I was looking for. They didn't go in with the intention of arresting the maintenance guy. He's a perfect smoke screen though. They can dig up nasty stuff if they need to make some noise to distract everyone.

An internet pedo case goes down like this? I don't believe it. Do they think the public are mostly brain dead?
Wow.

Someone suggested it might be a Chinese spy, given its proximity to Holloman air force base and the White Sands missile range. The suggestion was a surveillance sensor array was planted somewhere in the area to monitor the testing.

No hard proof for this theory but it would make sense given what goes on out there and how the Chinese like to steal technology. We have taken down a few spy rings over the last few years so its possible someone who might have been caught disclosed the location of it. Either that or someone at the observatory was a foreign asset.

Just a theory with no hard proof.

So....I'm just curious...why is the story they are putting out about super pedo not viable?

From what I can tell they got the warrant 4 days AFTER they raided the place. Kind of interesting because no one was up there after they evacuated it.

Because if it really was a manhunt, they would have had a cordon set up, state police all over the place, aircraft with night vision looking in the woods...

They wouldn't have evacuated the facility, disappeared, gotten a warrant four days later, and let a possible suspect camp out five feet from the rent a cop that was their only security.

Whatever the story is, it sure looks like the authorities were in total reactive mode, with no real handle on events as they unfolded. Which remains exceedingly strange.

Things went exactly as they planned, but their original cover story sucked.

Apparently a /pol/ "insider/leaker" nailed this on the 14th, just learned this via r/conspiracy; though it seems pertinent to note this leak would have been after the warrant was filed on the 10th:

>NM is a hotspot for child pornography production and distribution
>the server at the observatory had been used to digitally transfer child pornography
>the FBI regularly tracks the distribution of child pornography and detected suspicious activity on the server
>the FBI investigated the facility and discovered a laptop connected to the server that was being used to download/upload child porn for 23+ hours every single day
>the laptop was determined to be the possession of a janitor who worked at the facility
>he was taken into custody
>someone made violent threats to the observatory as a result of the FBI investigation
>the observatory chose to shut itself down temporarily while the FBI investigates the seriousness of the threats You heard it here first. Screencap this post.

Following the example on not linking the chans, apologies.

Sounds perfectly reasonable to me for AURA to shut it down in lieu of the circumstances. It also follows the narrative. There was no need for the Sheriff because he wouldn't have jurisdiction. The FBI didn't force the shutdown, AURA did it as a precaution against potential threats.

Perhaps the janitor placed something on the antenna array to help facilitate his capture of illegal downloads. He camped out because there is more incriminating evidence on site that he was hoping to get to.

A warrant after the fact is status quo honestly. They didn't need a warrant to come in...they got permission from AURA for that. After a little investigating, they zeroed in on the culprit. It all seems perfectly wrapped and tied with a nice little bow.

Too bad, I was hoping for something a bit more tin foil hatty...

So basically I guessed it right back on page 135. Or, pretty darn close anyway. ...

Nefarious (felonious in this case) activity using the observatory's equipment to, in part, facilitate.

Okay, glad this one is over.

It's kind of funny. They throw out criminal activity, and everyone calls BS. They throw out the exact same story, but throw in child pornography, and suddenly it makes perfect sense. No wonder so many of these operations go unseen.

If the one accused is indeed the guy who camped at the gate, why is he the only person seen on camera? Why camp out in the cold, if they were having him work they would have him brought from a hotel because they supposedly put everyone up in hotels.

Why would a Janitor need to be let in to clean a place that is closed and has no reason to need cleaning. I think it is pretty obvious that that guy was meant to be seen. The rest who work there were not meant to be seen.

As far as I know, no one removed from up there has been seen. We have only a kid saying a friends family was evacuated.

So what's your theory Zaph?

Are you buying the CP cover, or do you think there's more to the story?

There's more to it, and nothing to do with criminal activity or child porn. I just can't say what. But there's more to it.

One guy who headed up there saw two military trucks going up there from the base.

Was the signing of non-disclosures found to be untrue?

We could I guess actually endanger people if this were witness protection program problems and the death at white sands involved.

Sounds like a plan B cover story to me, seems to me they wouldn’t have been allowing the guy who was the one suspected of a crime wonder around the crime scene, unless they didn’t have the dirt on him to begin with and wanted to let the high increminate himself more. Or this is just cover story B and they didn’t plan very far and left the very center of the alleged op wonder around the crime scene and get paid for doing it, doesn’t smell right to me. Guess I’m gonna have to do some digging on PACER to see if I can dig up more info on said case, the response and warrant date don’t line up and neither does the response.

That very point is jamming me up isn’t the alleged subject of the “investigation” and hoopla really the last person you’d want to give sole and exclusive acsess to the crime scene? Keep the local high hoss out, and send in a helo to then keep the facility closed down for over a week over this, I call BS in a big way.

Well, that pretty much leaves military. In your estimation, is the real story likely to come out?
