The guy that was camping outside the gate's title is shipping/receiving clerk. He's not the janitor.

I have no idea at this point who the janitor is, if there even is one.

On September 14, agents searched the suspect’s home and seized five laptops, three phones, an iPad, and several flash drives and hard drives. According to Reuters, the suspect has not yet been arrested and charges have not been filed.

gizmodo.com - New Mexico Observatory Closed Because of Child Porn Investigation, Not Aliens.

And not even behind bars! And how he afford 6 laptops, 3 phones, and iPad, and the storage... on a janitor's wage? And clear out a town, board up the windows, and keep everybody out with yellow crime tape and a stop sign? And still not arrest the guy or anybody for that matter!

Just when I thought this story could not get any more strange! A lie on top of an untruth on top of a cover story on top of what was actually seen. Nope, no conspiracy here! Move along!!

You can rest assured that nobody has been charged, arrested, or named, but welcome back to Sunspot! Tour starts at 10.

Probably providing real-time sun status to the military complex so they can shut stuff down in advance of solar events reaching satellites. (i.e. protecting imaging gear and circuitry). I'd guess they can't leave that stuff laying around at an abandoned facility.

ETA - The dude allegedly tied to the nefarious activity was probably also a UC spook who was in charge of facilitating the data feeds to the MIBs. Who better than a janitor...the guy with keys to everything!

ETA2 - Ooooooohhh, and maybe even a double agent in the mix here too! Wouldn't that be Juicy!

There was an episode of the x-files where they charged the guy with and he went on the run after talking to Mulder.

There's more to it, and nothing to do with criminal activity or child porn. I just can't say what. But there's more to it.
Enough said. I'm not buying the child porn angle either.

I'm still of the opinion that some bad actors took advantage of the disused observatory facilities to perform visual and electronic surveillance of the US military assets on the valley floor below.

In fact, anyone with an interest in said assets should have to turn in their Secret Squirrel decoder rings if they didn't take advantage of that opportunity.

This entire situation is insane, and I have no idea what's going on.

My thoughts:
- I can maybe buy the pedo thing, but NOT as the initial reason for all of this. I can see feds getting on a computer for an entirely different reason, finding CP, and then getting a warrant. I'm not saying that's what happened, he could easily be a fall guy, but you don't evacuate entire towns because of child porn. That's the dumbest "reason" I've ever heard, I really hope people don't actually believe that.
- I don't buy the aliens bit, or a solar anomaly. I know/believe aliens exist, but why move everyone? It isn't like a UFO was landing right there. Same with a solar anomaly, it isn't like a flare was going to strike ONLY Sunspot.
- My main question is, why evacuate the whole town? There isn't a reason for the entire town to be forcibly moved.
--The most plausible possibility to me that would justify evacuation is spy equipment along with a threat of retaliation if it's removed. Or, similarly, if it's rigged to blow if it's removed.

This is the coolest thing I've seen on the site in months, and it's why I started reading ATS a decade ago. I love it, keep up the good work everyone!

If this guy is the person the warrant is for it's strange to me that he is posting on Facebook like nothing has happened. He's even making fun of conspiracy theorists and is trying to profit by saying his music(he's got a band) has hidden info in it:

In one of the local news stories they interviewed him and said he was the maintenance man. His facebook is public:

www.facebook.com...

Something is not adding up.

On his page there is a photo of him and another man in tin foil hats posing in front of the NSO signage. In the comments on that photo someone states that the observatory hasn't had a janitor in 3 years. As if evacuating the whole place for the reason they are now claiming isn't ludicrous enough, are we to also accept that this incident occurred 3 years ago and still warrants this level of secrecy and drama?? How is this even a remotely acceptable explanation?

Do you think the truth will eventually come out?

It's not believable at all. It's kind of got me worried actually. This is a cover story. What they're probably covering up is worrisome.

To a degree it might, but only places like here. The full truth, almost certainly not.

Could be anything really, I doubt there is anything too worrisome or there would be some hint of what's up somewhere with all of this commotion.

Wanted to add that if there was something to worry about it would probably be unreasonable to actually, worry! Either we will know when it happens and be ok or not, worry will only waste valuable time too enjoy! Don't know how many times I wasted life worrying when younger.

Have you ever read the Aircraft forum threads? Asked point blank, Zaphod will clam up. So if he says, "I just can't say what", then you probably wont hear it from him. That is the way of Aircraft forum! There are some very smart, and very coy, posters over there. Reading between the lines and connecting the dots for yourself is a matter of course.

Now, if you were given an undisclosed amount of money, signed a binding legal document (NDA) with the government, do you think that someone will just "spill the beans"?

So that means you have a little bit to ponder. There are bread crumbs here but not the "whole banana". Don't feel bad if you "don't get it" because there are some topics over on the Aircraft forum that above my head too!

So reading an article today and skimming through here and another thread.

It appears the FBI closed down a whole observatory and post office because someone was distributing child porn on their WiFi/Internet. They didn't give a reason for the shut down for over a week or so, because they didn't want to alert the suspect that they were on to him. Seems like a really bad tactical move? Especially coming in on a blackhawk helicopter. That's not going to make a criminal paranoid or anything.

Story is not right. Something else is gong on here.

Makes me wonder what files are hidden in the source code of many of our everyday electronics.

Scary to think someone somewhere could push a button and put files on your new refrigerator or microwave.

Alexa what did you do?

I am thing more along the lines of corrupted data on transmitting equipment.

Something that can not be removed except by replacing equipment.
