Man I hated the whole 80's nightclub thing but also loved it.
Hard to explain to those who didn't experience it.

Rooftop Gardens in Wakefield, had a few laughs there.

A personal favourite was Tiffany's in Newcastle - could tell many a tale but T&C.....and common decency dictate otherwise!

Viz; a national treasure and should be made compulsory reading in the National Curriculum - that'd shake things up a bit!
And whilst I'm on about improvements to the joke that is the National Curriculum.....how about The Macc Lads becoming a section in the Music syllabus?
(I think they were mentioned somewhere earlier in this thread?)



Quite a few mates were at Rebellion over the weekend, all agreed The Macc Lads were great.

I'm sure its still knocking about it some format, I doubt it's still as funny though.

I think it should be re-launched / re-branded or whatever with a special limited edition Sex Pistols flexi-disk with Bodies on the A Side and Friggin in the Riggin on the flip side!

I do like:

Good old British humour, I wonder how long I would last standing outside a left wing university in the US handing out copies to students? Long enough to be lynched maybe, then sent to a 're-education' camp or something!

I guess it would depend on how far on each side of the political divide folk are.
Haven't had many US members pop into the banter cafe, It's open to all though. We should have an Americana night with redneck and hillbilly banter as the theme.

Maybe offer a few suggestions for the jukebox.

Not sure about the hillbilly banter, really do struggle to understand them.
No problem at all with the broadest Glaswegian - I do sometimes struggle with those just up the road from me that speak Pitmatic.....then again, they are pretty similar to hillbilly's in most respects - but that Cajan stuff baffles me, and Deliverance always springs to mind!
