a reply to: Liquesence Stop sugar coating the one that did the crime ,we need to make the crime a crime not a disability.
Another regulation will not stop anyone that sets there mind on murder.
If they stop sales on all guns in America right now, it would only raise the price on the street.
More people would be buying them just to have one....

I don't want to see the rights of the press curtailed or infringed but the "press" to include its many forms will subvert this nation into slavery before weapons in the hands of the people does. We are nearer to making bricks without straw than being killed on the street by a gun.

Today we begin to disarm the criminal and the careless and the insane. All of our people who are deeply concerned in this country about law and order should hail this day.

The usual suspects don't even care nor do they even bother to read, 50 years ago

I'm sure they mean what all the others mean when they say "gun control". It's not really about the guns at all, it's really all about the "control".

What gun control means for your people at this point, is looking at more in-depth background checks. Want to keep your guns? Then something has to give.

"Do something, anything"

It's a mentality, Canada has much sticker laws on guns, yet it didn't stop a deranged fool from storming the national parliament building in Ottawa 2014 and the gun battle that erupted from that.

Sorry people, you will never stop a very determined assailant. Take his guns away and he will use a large truck to run people down.
Or create a bomb, Boston marathon style.
A person determined to cause death and mayhem will find a way.

I'd like to see crimes committed with a firearm to be treated as a federal crime. The 2nd Amendment is a COTUS-level recognized right, it should also be a federal-level consequence when it is abused.

I'd like to see plea bargaining out of a gun crime abolished.

I'd like to see rewards for information linking to crimes committed with a gun increased to incentivize inner city residents to flush out their criminals.

I'd like to see any criminal that performs a mass shooting be shamed, chastized and *never named*.

I'd like to see gun/marksmanship classes brought back to high schools.

I'd just like to add that here in California you have an outright ban on many firearms, high capacity magazine ban, detachable magazine gun ban, ban on bump-stocks, ban on bayonets, ban on silencers/threaded barrels, ban on AR pistols, ban on shotguns under so many inches, we have background checks, 10 day waiting periods, must have lock or safe, private sales are banned (must go through FFL dealer), mandatory safety permit to buy handgun, can only buy 2 guns per month, now you will have to buy an ammo permit and will have to do background check for ammo, some counties DO NOT issue concealed carry permits and open carry is banned...

so has crime gone down in this liberal utopia of California? Nope...it has gone up, and criminals still have their guns

What further gun control do they want?

agreed! California, while enacting more draconian gun laws making it harder for law abiding citizens to exercise their right, have lowered some crimes committed with a gun from a felony to a misdemeanor...makes ZERO sense!

You will never loose your second amendment rights because those in charge know the citizens are only ever going to shoot each other and never come after them.Nothing will ever change the gun lobby is too powerful.

Those things will never work in America, unless the bans are nationwide..even then it's too late by now.
There are no bordercheck when you enter Cali, or Chicago..etc, so guns come and go easy as anywhere else.

I blame the frigging schoolmates blaming everyone else.

Maybe they should have befriended him back in the day instead of bullying him.

Self involved little assholes.

America, you know that you will never fix your gun laws t stop these shootings. Something like what happened in Australia in 1996 would work, where all automatic and semi-Auto Rifles were confiscated.
Due to your constitution, it will never happen BUT i do have a solution for you guys.
Increase the price of guns, If an AR-15 cost $20K there would hardly be any shootings.
We have not had a shooting since 1996,

The common citizen does not have a gun and those that do for hunting only have a single shot rifle.
Criminals dont even have them, well some do but the ones that do have them for self defense and carry them illegally. A Glock handgun in Australia will set you back over $10K on the black market if you can even find one. so the argument about only disarming the law abiding people is not true.

So raise the prices and just like a teen that goes to school does not have access to $20,000 in cash, so too will he not ave access to a gun if you keep your laws but just add a school shooting tax.
If you do not have enough money to afford a gun, you dont have anything valuble enough to protect with one, and somebody who has a gun if so expensive will not be robbing any houses therefore you can protect your home with a bat like we do here.

So because your constitution will not change, the solution is this and i think its the only solution.
Everything else is just talk because nothing will ever change with your laws but a new tax to stop school shootings, yes it will

It may not have stopped that rich florida guy in the casino hotel but that type of shooting is rare, its the teen school shootings that are the main problem i see over there.
You will never have gun control in America that wiil stop mass shootings by teens but i can see a gun tax that has nothing to do with your constitutional rights and those who want guns can still have them and when the shootings stop, i dont think anybody will be complaining.

Good luck america, Keep your kids safe and feeling safe. I dont think kids would feel safe at school in America and it is your duty to make them feel safe at school especially!@

"Shall not be infringed"

Even with economic pressure. Why not arm only the aristocracy?
