I see absolutely no reason to have these semi-automatic weapons be available. I never get a clear response when I ask people this. They usually only say "it's our right to acquire guns". Ok, neat, you can have a hand gun! A rifle! Just as cool, right? These semi's are the weapon of choice for mass murders. If you get rid of them, it doesnt stop shootings. I know this. But that person can go in with a hand gun, but wont be able to kill as many people. If there's a scenario where people have to die and theres no ways around it, id rather less died than more, wouldnt you? Next, they will claim if you ban them they will just go through the black market. True. Although, I do not thinks everybody will have access to it. So that would drop mass shootings from what they are now, to a much lower number. Sure, it still could happen, but LESS would happen. I cannot fathom how somebody could not think of this as clearly as I am.
Do you understand what a semi-automatic gun is? Every single one of my hand guns are semi-automatic. That simply means that it chambers the next round when I shoot. It is the gun I carry at all times. IF I ever have to use it I sure as hell don't want to worry about racking my slide every time, seconds count. Learn before you speak.
It has already been shown this man had some serious mental issues. Let's address that. Seems like every almost every single time it comes down to mental illness of today's people.
I watched my mother die of cancer slowly when I was 16. So in a way, sure. I know what loss feels like.
I say they need to mourn this in anyway suited for them. Not forced doctrine. That only works for the same believers as you. Will I deny them it? No. But I will point out its forcing it onto them. Let them deal in their own way.

Seventeen American children were just ripped apart. You people and your stupid argument mean nothing. Just noise.

It’s acceptable to you Children’s bodies are ripped apart. Because we Americans are too stupid and helpless to fix it?

I watched my mother die of cancer slowly when I was 16. So in a way, sure. I know what loss feels like.
I lost my own mother two months ago. My wife and I had spent the last several years caring for her hand and foot.
And yet, that loss pales into insignificance whenever I try to imagine losing one of my children. I simply cannot fathom that. Burying a parent is the way of life. Burying a child is something no person should ever, ever, under any circumstances have to deal with.
So I take your response as a "no." You've never faced that.
I say they need to mourn this in anyway suited for them. Not forced doctrine. That only works for the same believers as you. Will I deny them it? No. But I will point out its forcing it onto them. Let them deal in their own way.
And if that way means reaching out to God? You seem to think any way is acceptable except that one.
I'm not forcing my beliefs onto anyone. You are.
