Today was my first time hearing how a ?bump? modified rifle shoots. You pull the trigger and it starts shooting until the magazine is empty. Maybe Paddock grew tired, laid the still-firing rifle on the floor and put his foot on it? The last 20 in that magazine went into the base board.

Bump sttock would not fire without a finger on the trigger. Speculating i might guess this was when he attempted to explode the fuel tanks next to the airport. If this would have been successful we would be talking thousands dead. I also think it was important to his escape plan and the rounds couldnt penetrate the tanks which foiled his plan.

If it was a case of him moving between windows then the timing would be off for the guy to be moving between windows.. I thought echo at first as well, because it seems to follow the loud shots immediately, but There would be no way he could get to second window that fast unless someone else was shooting from the other window to start with. Imho of course.
What I want to know if Why there isn't ANY. Footage of muzzle flash from the 32 floor. When people do see flash or it captures their eyes, they are always drawn to the 4 floor. Shouldn't it be the same for the 32 floor as well?
This video shows the hotel from the concert side. It is filming while Live fire is happening. You can see the strobe of the 4th, but NOTHING from the 32.
Video may be stressful for some:

Thanks. Hmm I guess I'll just have to face the fact that we may never figure out what those 20 quiet shots were. I'll take a guess though and say it was either...
1: The officer firing back.
2: Paddock left his suite to fire those 20 shots in the hallway then came back inside the suite firing through the door.
3: Different much quieter weapon.
4: Someone far away unrelated.

Maybe this helps... The cab has a message screen with clock synchronized with central dispatch, so its going to be accurate down to the second. 8:02 into the video, the time displayed on the dash is 10:17pm. Backing up to your quiet shots at the :43 second mark, that pinpoints them at about 10:10PM. Sheriff lays out a timeline built on audio recordings from officer body cams. 1st shots were fired at 10:05PM. Officers reach 32nd floor 12 minutes later at 10:17pm. This means that the Security guard was shot in the leg sometime between 10:05 and 10:17.
Security guard responded to the 32nd floor after the occupant on 31st floor called the hotel desk and reported that automatic weapons were being fired from the room directly above him. Sheriff noted that occupant of that room is savvy- former military, Former military in a VIP suite got taken seriously. I expect that this educated individual called security by 10:06pm. Security goes code red, and the closest guard makes a beeline for the elevator to 32. That's got to be at least 2-3 minutes to get an elevator and get up there. That puts him at 10:08-10:09. He steps off the elevator, runs towards the room not realizing there's a camera on him. Shooter sees him step out of the elevator, turns around and dumps a partial mag into the hallway at 10:10pm, which you heard as 'quiet rounds.' I expect that he saw the security guard limp toward the elevators injured, and dumped another 100 round mag into the hallway leading to the Sheriff's guestimate that a couple hundred rounds had strafed the hallway.
This timeline is built on a couple assumptions, but does line up with the 'quiet shots' heard from the cab which we now know took place at 10:10PM. I'm sure we'll eventually find out how long the injured security guard waited for officers to arrive after being shot, and that will nail down the timeline and make or break my theory for the 'quiet shots' that have sparked controversy about a 2nd shooter.

A good flash hider will almost eliminate muzzle flash on an AR15. Without a flash hider, up to a 15,000 lux muzzle flash. With a quality flash hider, just .3 lux!! 1 lux=1 candlepower, so its only putting out .3 candlepower which is equivalent to a 4 lumens. For comparison, a giveaway keychain LED flashlight puts out around 10 lumens. With all of the light polution in Vegas, 4 lumens would be pretty much invisible.
Here's a good demonstration of what a flash hider can do in complete darkness muzzle flash demo in complete darkness
