Oh boy, someone is really grumpy.
Did you skip your nap today ?

I bet your elders had negative views of your generation aswell and thought that you were a bunch of sissies compared to them. The whole world is changing faster than ever before and so is the definition of masculinity.
In the ol’ days you could demonstrate your masculinity by being able to lift heavy things and wrestle bears but today doing those things in order to prove anything would just look pathetic and stupid.

The definition of masculinity is not changing. You can not change the definition of a word to fit your belief of what the word should mean.

Of course it is changing.
Through history, the idea of ‘manhood’ has been defined by physical strength, toughness, earning, providing, and dominating. Masculinity requires that women are inferior : domestic, passive and economically dependent by their man which really can't be said about majority of women in western societies today.
Todays women aren't occupying the traditional role anymore so masculinity can no longer be defined through the traditional male-female dichotomy either. You could say that masculinity is going through a severe case of identity crisis because the core ideals of it are dying

So how does trash talk for a meaningful conversation?

Well "trash talk" is "tough" and being "tough" is manly...and being "manly" is prime-choice, yo!

I know its shocking, but intelligent women like intelligent men.

So, what kind of women like men who have to "act tough"?

It has nothing to do with acting tough.
I don't think it can be explained to you.
Intelligent men act like men around other intelligent men.
It has nothing to do with you when you are not around.

I'm a 70 year old woman.

You think I slept through all those years?

Intelligent men act like intelligent men around intelligent women who demand they do so.

That's not the point.
My point is those intelligent men act differently when they are not around a woman.

Some do - - some don't. I've always been "one of the guys" - - - I don't really get along with other women.

I prefer intelligent men - - who don't feel the need to play "boy's games".

All men play boy games.
Even intelligent men.
The conversation will always be different if you are not in the room.
You have never been one of the guys.

Guess you know me and my life better then me.

Carry on.

Can a man ever be one of the girls?
Would the girls act the same and say the same things around a man who considers himself one of the girls?

I will say - - I prefer the direction male teens/men (and all) are going.

To where they were and have been.

I can only hope its a world wide evolution.

At least in my "girl world".

Thank you for your intelligent comment. I'm 63-was married to an opera singer who was very macho-could fix anything and loved sports-but was not good husband/father material. Needless to say, I think this raging op has had some kind of bad day and desperately needs to go a bar and pick a fight with the most macho guy there and get his butt kicked. This seems to be what he's missing in life-that, and a barefoot, pregnant woman fixin' his dinner.

They're afraid to approach us as "males" or as "females" because they're afraid of being attacked by laws or other. So they treat us all the same, whilst giving us privilege scores to make it equal.

Personally I agree with the other poster. Our society is trying to appeal to everyone. Imagine we were all in a room. One person says "Boobs!" and several people condemn it so a rule is created nobody can say "boobs". Another person is wear shorts. Several people are aghast. So a rule is made nobody can wear shorts. Another person says "s***!" Now there's a rule nobody can say "s***". That's how it works. They first work on the children and drill these rules into their head. Then when they grow up everything is a lot easier. The problem is the rules tend to stack up the more we're concentrated into a shrinking place. The fear is we'll all shelter our differences in private and eventually there won't be any differences at all. The result will be borgish.

I don't seriously think we'll become borgs. A lot of this is just a response to increasing knowledge, technology and infrastructure. To do anything else would actually make our lives harder. But.....

Yes, we're all aware you want a post-gender world of gay sissy boys and militant women keeping them in line.

It is YOU who has decided to see the world in this way.

1. Non-macho = gay

2. Intelligent women = militant
