It seems like it's open season on men, unless they weren't born a man.
If a somebody who wants to be a man who wasn't born a man says something that sounds manly nobody would dare tell her to stop acting like a man.

That would be intolerant.

Oh boy, someone is really grumpy.
Did you skip your nap today ?

I bet your elders had negative views of your generation aswell and thought that you were a bunch of sissies compared to them. The whole world is changing faster than ever before and so is the definition of masculinity.
In the ol’ days you could demonstrate your masculinity by being able to lift heavy things and wrestle bears but today doing those things in order to prove anything would just look pathetic and stupid.

I love "In my day" rants. Especially from someone who came of age in the 90's. Kids today are no different than they were 10 years ago, 20 years ago or 40 years ago. Some are tough, some are smart, and some aren't.

The definition of masculinity is not changing. You can not change the definition of a word to fit your belief of what the word should mean.

Popular culture interests don't inherently define nor deflate masculinity, nor strength, etc.

This piece spoke to more than just thick skinnedness, masculinty, etc. It spoke to this de-evolution trek your lot are bent on driving our species, while acting like you're the pinnacle of sophistication, intellectualism and forward thinking.

"Cool" people can still like se Star Trek, although Trekkies are definitely nerds!

So how does trash talk for a meaningful conversation?

Well "trash talk" is "tough" and being "tough" is manly...and being "manly" is prime-choice, yo!

I know its shocking, but intelligent women like intelligent men.

So, what kind of women like men who have to "act tough"?

No mater the age we can't put blame on the generation after us...that's ridiculous and insultingly ignorant. We are what makes the generation after us. It's our fault. And those before us. I've seen how we have raised our children. We were so wanting no child left behind because it was embarrassing of us to have a child fail a grade. So now he's going one step higher without being prepared from the class prior.

We are so transfixed on our screens that we make no time for nothing else. You-are-nothing-to-me mentality has been imprinted on to our children and we take it out on them for it. This constant outcry and attention seeking behavior is what follows for not giving a #.

So go ahead. Point the finger to others like so many have done and will do.

I'll point to myself. Come to acceptance of it. And ridicule others who believe are higher.

The filth we leave in our wake...

It has nothing to do with acting tough.
I don't think it can be explained to you.
Intelligent men act like men around other intelligent men.
It has nothing to do with you when you are not around.

I'm a 70 year old woman.

You think I slept through all those years?

Intelligent men act like intelligent men around intelligent women who demand they do so.

That's not the point.
My point is those intelligent men act differently when they are not around a woman.

It's funny seeing the two primary voices of the transgender movement in here talking about what women want in men, the in's and out's of masculinity vs. intellect... the same two "High Information" types whom typically refuse to tackle any of my armada of intellectual / academic / historical / scientific information overload threads.

But its good to see you in one of my threads for a change. If you're really all "High Information" like you present yourselves as being, I've got a bunch of choice threads chock full of relevant information for you all to come pick apart for me. Most of them are completely lacking any real challengers from your camp..............

They just want to avoid the big picture of a piece like this, focus on the lowest common denominator points they can can pick out and derail the subject by twisting the debate into being nothing but such. It's about all they ever do those two.

Some do - - some don't. I've always been "one of the guys" - - - I don't really get along with other women.

I prefer intelligent men - - who don't feel the need to play "boy's games".

All men play boy games.
Even intelligent men.
The conversation will always be different if you are not in the room.
You have never been one of the guys.

First of all you're twisting my reflections on the teen years into a discussion of maturity in men.

My point was as 'kids' were could take a joke (even a brutal one).

The kids now scream OPPRESSION over things so insignificant they had turn to this "microagression" invention to even act like the BS offending them is even offensible.
