I do agree that the Peter Jennings special on Lee Harvey Oswald was a mockery of our intelligence and should've later been considered a joke by the whole station. That said, one can be quite skeptical on his special on ufo's. One thing for sure is that this subject has no choice but to eventually be discussed by the mainstream media, simply becuase of it's popularity. There is way too much information on this subject that im not even going to bother giving an example. The question I think we're all wondering is "what will be discussed in the special?" My opinion is that they'll be talking with people who've been abducted. Most likely these people won't be of military or government intelligence like they could easily obtain. I think they'll be focusing mainly on average american citizens and very few credible sources. Doing that would create a nice gateway for skeptics and people not educated on the subject to steer away from it.. I think that the government's looking to bide as much time as possible before having to talk about it, and this special could be a step in the right direction. Or it could backfire on them. Expect them to explain the crop circles as merely a hoax created by a couple of guys with nothing better to do. Whatever they talk about Im sure we all can agree that it's something we'll all be watching.

Nobody get your hopes up.

It's 2 hours of network prime time talking about UFOs. Sure its probably nothing new to us and might make new skeptics, but I'd like to think of the millions who will be watching and learning something new. The 1997 Pheonix mystery? He can't be serious.... A 1968 case in North Dakota.. This has to be a joke or a complete mockery of our intelligence. And I can't believe he has the nerve to talk about exploiting ufo's in a bad way. What a hypocrite. He brings up the x files, ridiculous blockbuster movies, and the ridiculous autopsy special on fox to explain the reason behind the curiousity of the ufo phenomenon. He must be about as anal as an anal probe. He simply can not be taken seriously. If he (they) talks about 1/4 of the information that's available on ufo's then he'll make heads spin. Do they really expect ufo sightings to be the main topic on the show.... That's hilarious. False Objects have been flying in the sky for years that are mistaken for ufo's. Actual unidentified flying objects flying in certain spots in the sky can't be considered alien craft anymore. Triangled crafts, and other so called crafts are being flown by us. And they have the nerve to make this their head topic... Mark my word, this will cause outrage and it will backfire on them.

So how did the show turn out then?

So, it's on now.. I think there were some very strong statements in the beginning. Seems to be concentrating on the evidence.

I still have to wait another 3 hours for it to air.
I think I might stay out of this thread so it wont be spoiled .

Nothing really new or outstanding so far in the first 15 minutes. Basically showing the Phoenix Lights UFO incident footage and having some scientist come on to debunk it.

It will be one of those fencing type programs. Stab, dodge, parry, thrust and riposte back and forth. For every person that comes out to say YES there is a scientist or a "so-called" credible person to debunk it.

It's not over yet and there's still another hour and 45 mins to go. We'll see...

AMAZING Phoenix Lights footage!!!

i know this was probably talked about here 1000 times but i have to say: "why they hell was it!?!?!?"

those lights are probably the best UFO footage i have seen...

this "triangle" thing BLOCKED out starts in they sky!!!

it wasn't flares (like some idiot on the show said it was)...

ooh ooh my local abc news is going have a story on ufo sightings in my area afterwards.

So far it's pretty positive but of course they have only thrown in one skeptic. Lots of very convincing first hand reports though.

COME ON!!!!! They showing animation after computer animation! I'd like to see some NEW footage.

2nd segment: Going into the history of UFOs and the eyewitness accounts of numerous commercial and military pilots around the world. From the early 40s to present day.

Flying Saucer this and saucer that. This program needs to pickup FAST!

Did anyone else notice the "pilot" who said he saw something out of "the port side, the right side(sic) of the aircraft" ? Bad editing or loss of credibility? I wonder where they found their other witnesses as well...

This is going to be a fairy tale show, the usual debunking and nothing more.

this show would be better if it ONLY had ACTUAL ufo videos and not those "animations"...

Right now he is clearly the country's leading anchorman. Rather has been discredited and will soon retire. Brokaw has already retired. Jennings is all that is left of the 'big three' anchormen. So... for Jennings to do a report like this... DURING a huge war that generates a new story everyday... indicates that ABC really wants to take time out to look at this subject.

I really do have to wonder if disclosure WILL happen soon.

I really like Peter Jennings. I think that he is one to really think for himself, rather than just believe the usual "party lines" if you will.

Not too long ago, he did that special on, "Big Brother is Watching - Nowhere to Hide". I don't think that he buys all that government sh*t that they try to lay on us.

I have no idea if there's any truth to this, but, I wouldn't be surprised if he's not a member of if not ATS, some other government-conspiracy related discussion forum.

I just hope that the government doens't get rid of him in some way, because I really think that he is doing his best investigative reporting, and telling his findings to the American people.

The problem with that would be that with all the technology out now, computerized imaging, etc... who would believe it was real?

I myself have never seen a UFO, and seeing any sort of photo or film of one isn't going to convince me that it is the real thing.

However, I have a really hard time believing that we are all alone in the entire universe. And it would make sense that other intelligent life forms would gravitate toward each other if they have the capability.

That concept alone leads me to believe much more than any pictures, images, etc....

So far all rehashed known stuff... I guess A.B.C. and Peter Jennings are just dipping there hand in the cookie jar...

Just spent about 15 minutes trying to debunk Roswell by saying there's no evidence, and clinging to the Mogul explanation...which any rational person can see is ridiculous! They tried to claim that the Mogul project looked like nothing in the air in 1947. Bull#....the public was well aware of balsa wood, tin foil, and weather balloons (especially Ranchers, who often found them). They wouldn't think anything of finding such a debris field, nor is that what was described by many different witnesses (including high ranking military officers).

And now they're going down the Convention path....looks like our worries are starting to materialize....

I'm going to e-mail this joker a link to my Roswell threads. Perhaps I can appeal to his journalistic integrity, more than likely nothing will come of it, but I'll feel better.....
