Peter Jennings Reporting: UFO, Feb 24th on ABC.

I saw the ad last night at 1am i think....

I was watching a movie but flipping channels during commercials and saw it.

Looks interesting i just forget what date and channel.

Tonight Thursday 2/24 on ABC from 8-10pm EST. Easy enough to remember?

"...ABC's "UFOs" is more credible, and less tacky, than those old "Alien Autopsy" and flying-saucer Fox specials. Unlike most of Jennings' news specials, though, it is neither exhaustive nor challenging, and it isn't even very persuasive.

Its purpose doesn't appear to be to debunk the UFO sightings it presents and dramatizes - or to bunk them, either, if that's the opposite approach. The sole, fuzzy focus of "Seeing Is Believing" seems to be this: Lots of people persist in reporting these sightings, so that, on its face, this is worthy of study and air time.

Using that logic, expect an ABC "Elvis Lives!" news flash sometime soon.

The tape sent out for review by ABC News was missing the final portion, on the events at Roswell in 1947, but the remainder is enough to rank the show far below Jennings' usual standards for expanded prime-time studies. It's not complete, and it's not compelling. It doesn't blaze much new territory, and it doesn't even tread well over the beaten paths...."

If you live in Canada and don't get ABC, CHUM's tv stations are airing the special.
I have to go dig out my rabbit ears so I can get a real clear picture to record the show . Don't laugh

Nope! Not going to watch it! I am in Mexico for the winter we don't get ABC down here.. thank god!

sorry if someone already posted this but tonight at 9:00 Nova Scotia time there is a show on about ufo's and its with the same guy who was on abc today.

Also, they are damned in your opinion for possibly dramatizing something that is really happening? Would you be happy if they did the show in the standard debunking manor?

Yes, they are going for ratings. It's a TV station. It's their business. To me it seems there is nothing negative or sinister in ABC trying to keep thier business running properly.

For every article that could have some negative connotation there are articles with statements such as:

Im going to watch it and see what all the fuss is about. Hopefully, they make it out to be a serious issue and not one of science fiction. Maybe it'll catch the attention of the public. One can only hope.

Let me clarify my answer. NO I wouldn't watch it even if I could. It is all rehashed material ALL OF IT. Read past posts you might learn something. The other reason is ABC is a very bias station and Jennings could care less if UFO's existed.. he is dropping daily in the ratings! I haven't watched ABC in years due to their slanted take on anything they report. The show is about RATINGS= $$$ The sponsors are praying for a good viewer audience (maybe Nikon or Kodak might pop up as sponsors).

For what is really happening out there I don't need ABC in their slant tell me about it. Due to first hand experince I already know what is out here.

If rehashing material is so bad, why out of the nine posts that you have made on ATS you have expressed the same opinion and insight in every one of them? Perhaps you want your opinion to get through. The more 'valid coverage' the UFO phenomenon can get the better for the exact same reasons.

LOL now it comes down to me= money?? STOP THE SPIN. Please read the posts. Quite a few of us responding to this forum are not counting to much on Jennings to represent the truth here. In reading the posts you can see that ALL this material has been presented a number times (do we really need the Phoenix lights case or Roswell presented AGAIN!). So why is ABC rehashing all of it with NO NEW information being added? RATINGS=$$$ I know some believe that when the GODS (ABC) have spoken its time to bow down and buy from the sponsors. Your turn!

I'm taping the special, watching Survivor.... I know, I know...hard to believe right? Well, I figure I'm going to want a copy of the special saved, and the alternative is to tape BOTH shows, and watch the UFO special. Since my other VCR is out of action, it rather made the decision easy...

I'll watch it right afterwards though....

Who would want to watch a idiotic reality show with that going on on t.v.? I hate reality shows anyway...
