All this hype about Russia comes from Hillary in the first place and prior to her Putin-Trump claims:

2011,

Clinton promptly volunteered that America is in an "information war and we are losing that war," and furthermore, that "Al Jazeera is winning".

"Let’s talk straight realpolitik," Clinton went on. "We are in a huge competition" for global influence and global markets. China and Russia have started multi-language television networks, she pointed out, even as the US cuts back in this area. "We are paying a big price" for dismantling international communications networks after the end of the Cold War. "Our private media cannot fill that gap."

Lol. This thread is getting close to the site owners dark secret. I'd mention it, but then I'd have a few of my recent posts deleted and warned in private not to discuss such things.

You're all being taken. Alt right rubes.

Is that so? You were here last year(maybe 2014 too), didn't see the site and prominent members calling out any of the (verified) Russian shill members, even the innocent were accused. Hardly think they align with this.

Ya, ATS would have had to be playing a helluva long con. It's just idiotic on the face of it when you even do basic homework on how long ATS has been around.

ooooooooooooooooooo......I would love to have a bear as a house pet

Just remember, although cute, panda bears are just a multicolored grizzly...and polar bears are just a brown bear with white fur, and koala bears are just tree kangaroos...I'm not really sure that's all true, because i just made it up, but i guess anything can be true, I just need to make a YouTube video with "proof" in the title, and it would still be claims that are less ridiculous than this site being Russian propaganda, earth being flat, and reptilian shape shifting beings being found in news casts...don't believe EVERYTHING you come across on the Internet folks....

Well in all fairness, Russia was around long before Al Gore invented the internet, so...it could be? Lol

ATS is a russian propaganda site? LOL. They are really reaching. The Neo-McCarthyism knows no bounds.

Or maybe we are just Americans of a lot of different opinions that march to our own drum beat (and a few non Americans too).

I don't know how this has not been posted yet, unless it's in a forum I can't see.
The Washington Post published a list of websites they claim are Russian propaganda sites and ATS made the list! This is a continuation of their "fake news" hogwash from last week and it looks like a big attempt at damage control to me. WaPo has credibility problem on a A. Jones scale, in my opinion.

www.propornot.com...

The link is dated as Nov. 9, but is ongoing. I think the list came out yesterday.

Looks like a blog website to me. Is this "list" you linked to the same as some actual news organization's, or just the work of a blogger using a WordPress template?

Either way, Russian operatives/trolls/shills (whatever you want to call em) are certainly around.

There's a lot of research that's been done linking pro-Trump Twitter bots to Russia.

One easy way is to look at when these people post/tweet. Russia's time zone is quite a few hours off from America's. They've gotten better with the Tweets though, automating them to Tweet during business hours in America.

I wouldn't take this list to terribly serious. Is ATS a propaganda mill for Russia?

Absolutely not.

Can it be identified as a target of Russian online propaganda?

Absolutely.

I think, in a way, that ATS should feel kind of good that Russia is paying attention to it. Obviously ATS is big enough to be targeted by Russia's digital propaganda arm.

The scary thing is how effective these operatives are at convincing Americans to hate their own country and worship Russia, excusing Russia from anything it does.

These operatives manage to convince Americans to their jobs for them. They get the snowball rolling, and eager Americans pile on board willingly.

When's the last time you've seen Alex Jones report anything even remotely negative about Russia? Notice how much more Inforwars is brought up all over the place now?

It's also not hard to buy Facebook likes on comments either. Russian troll posts an anti-Obama, alt-right or anti-Hillary comment, and has a few thousand paid "likes" added to it. Suddenly now it's at the top of the Facebook comment list and people see that and subconsciously think "wow, that's a popular opinion" ...

Some of the sites on that list are indeed straight up propaganda though. The list seems to be a mix of honest-to-god propaganda and sites that attract propaganda.

What's ironic is that it was the Republican party that was all "McCarthy". It was the Republicans that were xenophobic and afraid of foreign influence in America back in the 50's and 60's.

And now?

And now they're openly welcoming foreign subversion...

I laugh at the list, as who would ever suspect Pravda(Russian for truth), or Russia Today would ever be slanted toward the Russian state? A few of these are actual facade sites for China, as I have linked to them from Yahoo only to be shocked by the article's "Chinaganda". Several are just home-brewed "Gripe-sites" left over from the Dot-Com Boom era. Many of them, I never even heard of.
I will tell you this: by the next presidential election cycle, each of these web-sites on the list will either disappear, or be bought by well funded left-wing anti-American, anti-democratic, anti-nationalist and pro-Globalist finger groups. We got around the corrupt MSM "Media Sanhedrin" for now, but they won't let that happen for long. This innuendo toward them is just the start of silencing them.
I just wish I had a shoe-string, home-brewed "Gripe-site" of my own, so that I could be bought out and $50-$100 Million richer within four years.
As far as ATS, I have seen Russian Paid trolls, and Hillary/Soros Paid trolls on here, but their poor quality control verbiage does not seem coordinated with the site.

P.S.-Please excuse any typos, as I don't have enough time to edit. I have to catch the Moskva Metro back to Kaliningradskaya Stanstia before the Vodki Magazine closes for the night.

So ATS has never had fake news?

Hologram Hillary????

ATS doesnt post fake news. Various news or other dialogue is submitted here, and then it is vetted and potentially ripped apart more than anywhere Ive seen. Speculative threads are not news, they are speculative threads. Intelligent people understand the difference and theres a lot of intelligent people here who have a variety of opinions. Some threads are merely opinion pieces.

Bull**** news presented as news gets ripped apart here. And thats the real problem for msm, because they are some of the biggest purveyors of bull**** news and theres plenty of folks here to point it out.

I don't know about that. Many, many people went on and on about the Craigslist ads for protesters story ... absolutely *insisting* it was real.

Then, when the truth comes out that some guy put up fake Craigslist ads and it wasn't true, admitting he faked it all and spread fake news stories about it...

Nary a peep. Nope. Nothing.

And when that's brought up, it's deflect, deflect, project, project.

BS news does get ripped apart but some people still believe it. Remember the 9/11 forum before they changed the mod policies? You see the same thing that used to happen there all over the political forums now.

Some people still believe Hillary Clinton didnt do anything illegal. People will believe what they want. Since when are illogical opinions the same as fake news? Discussions arent news to begin with, they are discussions.
