Come on for goodness sake? you cant be serious???

Have you all not noticed how the US has extended it territory, by proxy, right up to Russias borders ??????????????

Can you not figure out for yourselves that China can merely see what the US is up with Russia so it has taken some preemptive actions to prevent the US from doing the same thing to them? ...... talk the latest saber rattle...

This thread, IMO, should be placed in the Ludicrous online lies forum.

The US and Russia already share a border so why would we need to add another segment?

Secondly its Russia - what country would want it?

No. Are you talking about those nations who used to be under the Russian jackboot and have decided to join Western Europe institutions and the NATO self-defence club. Its worked for them because Russia has only attacked non EU/NATO countries (Ukraine, Georgia).

Anyway, we stray. This is about China's belligerent expansionism into the entire South China Sea, thus causing all other neighbours in that area to cry foul. Also ensuring that allies (of which the US is just one) has made a point of continuing to ignore the silly expansionism by ignoring it and sailing around like they used to before China started destroyig coral reefs, building islands and militarising the area.

Frankly your post makes no sense to me, what are you trying to say?

This isn't the first Cold War anymore. Warsaw pact is dead. Communistic support of dictators no longer exist. Now we have so called Capitalistic dictators using Democracy as a disguise.

Spreading the same poison around the world the west used to accuse the Soviets of doing.

Military occupation by foreign armies isn't 'voluntary' , invited or 'defensive'. It is institutionalized, though.

One foreign 'jack boot' being the same as any other.

Weird sort of phenomenon, Napoleon and Hitler both tried the same thing. Every hundred years or so the west goes insane and tries to destroy Russia, you guys just don't get it.

Russians are tired of being threatened and invaded. Go ahead and push the envelope, its almost a century since the last time.

This has nothing to so with the Soviets and everything to so with China trying to claim other nation's sovereign territory. Try to follow along.

'Following' your logic leads to one world orders. I get your perspective, you are a good Roman.

Actually, individual sovereign nations do not. It astounds me that things are so difficult for you to follow.

Oh, we've gone down this road before. NATO does not occupy NATO members. I really cannot see how you work this point and then witter on about Russia in the same sentence being the victim. The reality is that Russia has acted belligerently and occupied other nations territory - Ukraine and Georgia.

Anyway, you are attempting to derail this thread. It's about China and the South China Sea.

Cognitive dissonance. Or self hypnosis, take your pick.

China wants/need a limited conflict with the US.

1) China believe it could win a limited war with the US in the South China Sea. Many of it's military leaders believe the US will give up if several of her ships are destroyed with mass casulties (think Carriers).

2) China thinks that if they have a limited conflict with a foreign power it would distract her people from the failings of the Communist Party (ie. mass corruptions and ruined economy).

3) If they can win a limited war in the South China Sea, they will become a legitimate superpower. This will translate into subjugating anyone in their area of influence without the US meddling.

What they do not count on is that the US could stomach a full scale war.

lol, all China would have to do is impose economic sanctions on the US, and refuse to ship a single product here. This country would crumble in a matter of months once the Walmarts and Kmarts closed, the Iphones, androids and virtually every electronic product known to man ceased to arrive by the estimated shipping dates.

On a positive note, it might be beneficial to the trade deficit.

China's military might is a lot like those
replica cities they build. From afar
it looks like a beautiful formidable castle
then you get up close and its made of
deteriorating plaster and abandoned.
