Theres no way we would be ok with foreign navies parked off our coasts.

Do you consider well over 200 nautical miles from the Chinese coastline close?

Ok, then let the affected countries take it to the International Court of Justice.

Which is what they did. What do you think The Hague is?

Nothing will happen
Russia, China and USA will never get into a fight.. it will not be good for anyone everyone loose
Nukes might be scary and horrible, but on the plus side they prevent ww3 from happening
No one wants there country turned into glass.

The threat of nukes is what keeps countries from going to war? So instead they fight proxy battles in defenseless countries, slaughtering millions in the process.

So the threat of nukes is actually killing more people than an outright exchange, it seems, over time. By that I mean over the history of nukes many nations have been invaded and decimated in lo level conflict between the superpowers.

I am reminded of China's most up to date submarine, staffed by its best sailors, going on a short 'shake down' cruise, submerging, and never surfacing...

What do you think The Hague is?

The western stamp of approval... ignoring the real injustice in the world in favor of demonizing non NATO countries.

The Hague is in the Netherlands, a NATO member state.

No bias there...

Who cares? The Philippines have a legitimate complaint. Not to mention Japan, Vietnam and Malaysia.

The Chinese are in logic trap of their own silliness.

They say that they will never impede navigation of shipping in the South China Sea, yet warn against freedom of navigation in the South China Sea.

The Chinese position is a complete joke, not to mention their appalling disregard for the environment in their destruction of coral reefs.

EDIT to say that the Chinese won't dare shoot at someone who can fight back. They'll pick on the fishing fleets of their neighbours and work intimidation and outright belligerence into their modus operandi.

Both would take fairly equal hits on paper. Their respective trade values are very equal amounts of their respective economies.

China should recover faster, however. It has always been far easier to find new buyers than it has been to setup new suppliers. Just the nature of the beast.

exactly, we dont really produce anything here anymore......I mean we have farm crops and things of that nature ,but not on the massive export scale like other countries have, especially China

Except for Vietnam (cannot believe you cite them) US has military bases in all those countries. And more, like the Korean Peninsula, right now there are two Aircraft Carrier combat groups patrolling the South China Sea. US military rings China, guess why China has begun after all this time to finally assert its authority in the region?

The aggressor is the US military, not China.

I really wish we would stop interfering in other nations' business.

Theres no way we would be ok with foreign navies parked off our coasts.

I know what some of you are gonna say, "its international waters".

Ok, then let the affected countries take it to the International Court of Justice.

Just because the name of the sea has China in it doesn't mean they have a claim on it!!
We are an affected country here! They have altered navigation corridors by grinding up coral reefs to create islands in international waters. Claiming it for China then erecting oil drills and military bases in what was once international waters. Please don't cover for the crimes China is committing in the South China sea.

Screw international courts! These are aggressive international land grabs by a largely communist nation. They will only respond to a show of force at this point in time. Fines and sanctions will not reverse this.

Who cares? All those countries are still entitled to a 200 nautical mile exclusionary zone. China's claims go right off most of their coastlines.

"Exclusion Zones"? Thats a lark, what exclusions were given to Bosnia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Syria?

Thats an extremely short list.

Double standard legalese.

We have all noticed how China has strategically overextended it's territories in violation of international law....here's the latest saber rattle...

www.reuters.com...

They are chancers hoping nobody will complain. This is driven by arrogance.

That arrogance will be curtailed the second trade barriers are threatened. The chinese millionaires (who are also those who control the nukes) will make sure that the west continues to be the best consumers of chinese manufactured goods so that they can continue to be millionaires. Russia is the same by the way but with an arrogant Putin who has to dance between appearing "strong anti west" for home consumption but all too aware of the economics of the situation. His pals own half of the football clubs and mansions in London so the UK isn't going to be nuked anytime soon! DUH! Trident the dead duck.

This is why nuclear deterrance no longer exists (even if it ever did).

Is there something wrong with you? Afghanistan is landlocked and does not have a coastal exclusionary zone. The other countries all have one.

This would not end well for us and our allies right now.

China in the Pacific.
Russia in Europe.
Iran decides to attack Israel.

Can we fight on 3 fronts as well as protect our homeland. Sorry, but for all of our technology right now we are weak and stretched to the limit.

I would think if something would happen it would be in the first 6 months of 2017.

War does not make enemies. It sometimes just levels the playing field.
