Both would take fairly equal hits on paper. Their respective trade values are very equal amounts of their respective economies.
China should recover faster, however. It has always been far easier to find new buyers than it has been to setup new suppliers. Just the nature of the beast.

Who cares? All those countries are still entitled to a 200 nautical mile exclusionary zone. China's claims go right off most of their coastlines.
