In many countries police take bribes....
In USA, throw donuts and run away while they fetch the donuts...

OK, couple of questions...

What was the initial offense that you were stopped for, we're you in a 'bad' neighborhood, what time was it, and what kind of vehicle were you in?
I've been 'felony stopped' after dropping a relative off at work at night in a high crime area, because the vehicle I was driving vaguely matched a fresh stolen car report.
And I was released as soon as they realized that Ford is not Chevy, and blue is not gray.

I joined to just let you know that some do just as you have said and look what happed, in THIS case anyway

Guilty until proven innocent, And if you don't wanna be in prison until your court date which would be months away, you have to pay $ and no you don't it back if you're found to be not guilty of anything.

Depends the answer to that depends on what you did. If you just shot someone than thr answer is yes. If you ran because your intoxicated and don't want a DUI thr answer is no. Though more than likely you'll just stumble over something and they will catch you.
