Key words being "for me".

Because you simply choose to ignore it. It's like a slave owner only considering the financial benefit to owning slaves while everyone else says in the bigger picture, that's racist and you shouldn't have slaves as that's inhumane.

And you ignore it and yell "there's no bigger picture for me!". Your perspective and argument is that of a slave owner only considering their bank account.

If you say so.

Its still your issue. I'm good.

Give it up mate. No real questions gonna get adressed here. And they wonder why no one takes them seriously.

You use "your issue" incorrectly.

It's a national issue. It's an issue effecting folks coast to coast.

This is you again deflecting.

Why? I think an answer to this is important, it may help the rest of us understand why she's defending her stance so vehemently? Sometimes you have to get to the root of the problem so that you can deal with the issue at hand.

It's just common sense to ask these kinds of questions, it used to be anyways.

She isn't gonna answer any of your questions. We are almost 30 pages in now. Circles upon circles upon circles. I was just trying to save you some time and frustration is all.

*I did like your porn question though*

What's annoying is we're trying to have an honest debate, naturally about all sides of the equation and her intent appears to be simply to provoke, then deflect upon response.

She doesn't appear to be here for honest dialogue but rather to invoke reactions and have a laugh.

I had to Google otherkin. You really should not speak those fears aloud or put them in type. I have no doubt the wheels are already turning. Somewhere a democrat is trying to find a way to exploit this new minority group for whatever votes can be won (not to be outdone, republicans will be hard at work creating futile countermeasures in an effort to rally their non-fuzzy constituency).

A decade or two from now, when every other form of political identity has become old hat and every sexual fetish this side of necrophilia has been mainstreamed, the Otherkin will have their day.

SMH

You all can just put me down on the list, ahead of time, as a backwards, ignorant furry-phobic who will forever side with the fursecuters rather than the fursecuted.

What a farce.

Actually, I'm a 70 year old cis-gender gramma.

Raised 2 daughters, currently raising 8 year old grandson (his dad died of Cancer, mom has to work).

Yeah, the post I was replying to came from page one and mentioned, somewhat facetiously, the Otherkin seeking rights, etc.

Apparently there are humans who identify as non humans .... animals, mythical creatures, etc. Not surprisingly, quite a few are simultaneously transgender. Some otherkin wear fur suits, some get surgery to look more like their "true self" and others just enjoy living as their "persona" online.

These severely mentally ill folks are said to inhabit Reddit and Tumblr.

Seriously, the GTFO is for the at least marginally sane people left who flee into the hills, abandoning the cities in favor of a diet of dirt and locusts to spending one more minute trying to figure out which bathroom is safe to use.

It's OK. Call your local congressman or form a 501c3 to raise funds/awareness. I'm sure something can be done. Stay brave. Stay strong.

I'm going to believe these people.

Feeling a bit spunky this evening so here goes with someone else you can believe.

Freija (January 1955) is an American nobody living a quiet private life and has never done anything special or noteworthy. Born with gender dysphoria, from earliest memories she lived a very difficult childhood as a young girl with the body parts of a boy she considered a birth defect. Unlike transgender children of today, socially transitioning was impossible as well as illegal in the 1960's so young Freija always stood out as very different from other children. As an adolescent she faced physical assault, bullying and complete social isolation because she didn't look like a boy as emotionally and psychologically she was not and never had been one. After graduating high school and turning 18 in 1973, her parents began calling her Freija and using female pronouns because it made no sense at all to do otherwise.

By 19, she had begun working in an office where no one knew she hadn't always been a girl or what parts she was born with. In 1977 at the age of 22, she quietly underwent corrective sex reassignment surgery in Trinidad, Colorado, with Dr. Stanley Biber that had been performing this procedure since 1969 and trained the above mentioned Marci Bowers in the techniques.

Freija lived a completely normal life as a young woman with her past medical history unknown but to the few family members she had and continued her career in the pink-collar ghetto gradually moving up to management levels. At 30 she was married and enjoyed a loving and happy relationship with her husband until they divorced 12 years later. Having found a niche, Freija started her own business in 1995 serving the IT needs of her small business clients.

In 2015, she shared her private story with the members of ATS for the first time she'd ever publicly told anyone. In 2016, she sat here typing wondering how people can be so horribly misinformed, ignorant of the facts and downright rude, hostile and abusive to people like her and people similar to her.

I know this Freija chick pretty well. She's not "mentally ill" or confused and never has been. Don't you imagine the teams of doctors, endocrinologists, psychiatrists and psychologists, she and kids like she was do everything to rule out mental illness and things like BIID and BDD? Trust me they do.

Fortunately in today's world, children with gender dysphoria, which is an actual diagnosed medical condition believed to be biological in nature, are afforded the opportunity to live as they know themselves to be who's sense of gender is as solid and as unwavering as non-transgender children by all testable measures.

Here are some transgender high school girls. They are not boys and the last thing in the world they would do is expose what to them, as it was to me, their birth defect that is nothing but a hugely disfiguring embarrassment.

The reason these kids need to use the facilities that matches who they are is important so that they have the same educational and social experiences as other kids and so they have a chance to grow up and be normal healthy adults. Nobody does this on a whim or for fun and being this way is not a choice. Who would "choose" such a difficult path in life.

These are the kids this whole thing is about. There are thousands of these kids in schools all across the country. Some have transitioned very young and are now in high school and most of them are completely indistinguishable from their classmates and their history unknown. They are at risk and deserve the protections afforded them. They are not a threat to your children. Have a little courtesy or at least the balls to admit most of y'all don't know what the hell you're talking about.

What would you do if one of these kids was yours?

I'm terribly sorry, I'm just a horribly insensitive human-centric trans-species-phobic ignorant religious cannibal. You have rightly helped me to check my privilege before it caused any further injury or triggering for the trans-insect community...which I so thoughtlessly neglected to think about in sharing my post-civilization living plans.

I should definitely be kept far away from any poor impressionable adults, children, children trapped in adult bodies, or adult male foxes trapped in adult child locust bodies.

I'm a privileged menace, in other words.
