The funny part is, the Trumpophobes are the reason why he has gained so much free publicity. I mean introvert talks about him so much he is essentially campaigning for him.

Maybe with enemies like that, who needs friends !!

Go Trump

The selling of merchandise?

The "Make America Great Again" ballcaps aren't bad if you're OK with plastic snap trucker caps. He even brought out a variant in camo a couple of months ago.

I guess it's Trumps fault that he gets the highest ratings and pundits have been making a living over the last 10 months by trying to smear him 24 hours a day.

Megyn Kelly should give Trump half of her salary, since she practically made a career out of attacking him.

Most of the media talk about Trump is used to smear him
and in turn it has accelerated his campaign. Hence Free Advertising

Why would the media not ignore him instead rather than give him airtime they know will boost his campaign?

How come we never heard of these other Candidates and why does the media ignore them?

Meet the Most Interesting 2016 Candidates You've Never Heard Of

There is a record-breaking number of GOP contenders for the 2016 election. Meanwhile, an incredible 512 candidates registered their names with the Federal Election Commission to run for president.

I think Trump is a plant like hope and change Obama was

Think tanks know how the American people feel and once Trump is in office, they will pull a Lucy and yank the football out of the way

I see BlueAjah helped me out with this one (Thank You)... they posted a link here -

Here's another one from March -

I am sure I could likely dig for more if you need them, but NOT seeing shock from his supporters on here should tell you that they were already aware of it as well. It's not breaking news and he never promised to self fund his whole campaign (just until the nomination). I have seen several interviews where he said that it was highly likely that he would need to start looking into donations once he had the nomination to be able to compete fairly with Clinton.

No one in their right mind would liquidate 2 billion dollars in assets to run for president.

That's crazy to even assume.

The Kochs alone are liquidating 1 billion to support their person. 2 billion for someone who is claiming to be free from money influences would be just about what it takes.

Face it, Trump lied... again.

Hey Kangaru...

Pleas take no offense, but I have been expecting more honesty from you and am remaining disappointed.

Your Claim:

originally posted by: Kangaruex4Ewe
Trump has always said that he would likely need to look into donations if he became the nominee.

All I asked for was a link to a single quote of his saying what you said he "always said"...

Blue Ajah offered some article explaining that "Traditionally" the GOP Nominee joint fundraises with the RNC...

Which is precisely what Trump over and over said he would not need to do and would not do...and derided "traditional" candidates as "puppets" for sale.

You gave that link as well..

and your other link at Newsmax...That was from only 60 days ago...NOT "always said" AND Trump never said it...it was a leak from inside sources as Trump continued to claim financial independence.

From your link:

The campaign's message would be "basically, we're going to be a traditional party candidate," as far as fund-raising is concerned, the individual told CNN.

Trump has never admitted this publicly up until now and it only "leaked" for the first time 60 days ago...and it is the precise thing he has claimed he would not do..

Your claim is entirely unsupported by your links and frankly completely untrue in substance:

He said the opposite...actually made the opposite a core campaign promise...

You can say that "Traditionally" the GOP Nominee partners with the RNC to gather money...but that is not a requirement and that is the one thing Trump boasted he did not need to do and would not do.

Happy to be wrong if you can provide a link prior to the past week where Trump said he would do this? But until then it looks like you are pitching BS.

The Koch brothers are worth ten times what Trump is worth.

No one in their right mind spends a billion dollars on running flr president of their own money.

Do you even have a million dollars ?

How about 100,000?

Put bluntly - Because the "Media" does not care about who is President...actually if the country went to hell it would boost their daily viewership.

The Media cares about viewership=profits...everything else is distant 2nd, 3rd etc..

And tabloid crazy sells..

I am honestly not surprised and no one else should be either. I am surprised he made it through the primaries, but realistically, he's going to need a full campaign apparatus including a ground network which he never had in the primaries and that takes money.

No Doubt it takes money..Anywhere from 500M to 750M...but he said he was worth 10B and would self-finance?

He has only spent 38 Million of his own money thus far...and he LOANED it to his campaign which means he can/will pay himself back with interest from mega donor checks he is now accepting...so he will likely not end up paying for any of his campaign himself.

Donald Trump in June last year:
"I'm using my own money. I'm not using the lobbyists. I'm not using donors. I don't care." He paused. "I'm really rich."

The fight for the president against Hillary has been projected to cost 2 billion. And no Trump can't afford that.

It takes an average of a BILLION dollars now to run a campaign to the voting booth in the General.

You really think trump is going to liquidate a potential TENTH of his entire Dynasty?

And put thousands out of work?

Then why did Trump say he was doing it?

If he is worth 10 Billion, that means 1 Billion is 10 percent of his net worth.

The average American spends twice that percentage on a down-payment for a house.

Trumps exact argument was that his wealth afforded him to run for president on his own dime..

HIS WORDS WHEN HE ANNOUNCED HIS RUN:
Because I don’t need anybody’s money. It’s nice. I don’t need anybody’s money. I’m using my own money. I’m not using lobbyists, I’m not using donors. I don’t care. I’m really rich. And by the way, I’m not even saying that to brag. That’s the kind of mindset, that’s the kind of thinking you need for this country.

What business is it of your how much money that poster has? That is grossly rude and off-topic question.

He's only liquid 350 million the rest is tied into assets mostly active investments

Not quiet the passive income the Koch brothers have access to.

Like I said anyone with two brain cells can come to the conclusion that spending two billions dollars of your own money is completely ridiculous.

Where's the link and CLEARLY it's a rhetorical question please I have been talking back and forth with Azaden in threads for years now and I can safely assume He realized it's a rhetorical question with the intent of giving context.

We didn't make the claim of funding our own campaign. You're right that only an idiot would do that, but that's what Trump said he would do. People are just calling him out on it now, just like Trump and his supporters would call out Bernie if he all of a sudden started setting up SuperPacs to fight against Hillary.

They are expecting him to spend ALL of bis liquid capital and then sell off more than quadruple his liquid net worth in assets (active businesses ) in order to run for president.

It's totally assinine.

If your willing to meet me halfway I can admkt that it was yet another braggadocios comment and not well thought it and hes definitely paying for it now.

If you honestly think I'm going to stop supporting him over this? Your crazy.

I am more against Hillary than I am pro Trump

Have you been following his campaign at all? He made it a bullet point of nearly every debate and speech..

Let's just start with his first announcement speech

"Because I don’t need anybody’s money. It’s nice. I don’t need anybody’s money. I’m using my own money. I’m not using lobbyists, I’m not using donors. I don’t care. I’m really rich. I would never ask you to stop supporting Trump...I feel strongly one way and you the other...and that is cool..

All I ask for everyone is that choices are made with eyes wide open, acknowledging and accepting facts and truth...then decisions follow.

I am anti-BS and anti-delusion mongering...but not about telling anyone what to think or do.
