Our president has nothing else to do that support Turkey in the "name of the American People".

Well.. minus 1 because I won't support Turkey as an American. For once I have to side with Russia on this!

Obama is such a tool!

This is like the 5th time you re-posted this crap. It's sad, its like the guy who tells a joke in class and the only one who's laughing is him.

Turkey isn't doing itself any favours here.

It seems like Russia didn't do itself any favors. It was their jet downed after repeated warnings. Their loss.

the Turkish territory the Russian plane crossed was a like a finger or villi sticking into what is contiguous Syrian territory it was tiny. and it was actually part of Syria but was annexed by Turkey some time ago (probably still disputed but i don't know for sure.) anyway the russian plane bisected a finger of turkish claimed land.

CNN reported about an hour ago on TV that the US had an AWACS plane in the air. My guess is the US knew that the Russians entered Turkish airspace and gave them the green light to shoot it down.

This is the thread of the year for very bad reasons, rigel.
The lines are far from blurred-- and we'll see quite soon and
after the meetings later today whether NATO is going to kick
Turkey and Erdogan out or we'll probably go hot locally.

I for one am more than a little nervous just because no NATO
country has shot down a Soviet Bloc aircraft since the 50's.
Add to that the obvious, and the fact that this proxy war is
getting the Bikini ripped off in a hurry. I cap'd that island for
a reason. Dark agencies running this folly could make Fukishima
look downright petty and really soon unless the US backs off.

There's more going on right here than I've ever seen, and in my 60's.
More public knowledge about the Western intel agencies doing
this skullduggery more out in the open and the Bear is calling
NATO's cards right now.

You're about to find out who your real enemies are for an almost
unique change, America... and there's no getting around it. If
our puppet slicktater drags us into a real live shooter as the big
boy of NATO v. Russia, ? Those psychos have wanted this for decades.
Worst, we're not EVEN the good guys in this one... lotsa luck.

Like Russia maybe if you learned the first go around we wouldnt have to repeat it.

Attacking me personally just proves you cant support your position, just like russia cant support theirs.

Nah the time span was to short. we are talking about 16 seconds in Turkish airspace. By the time that US plane would contact the Turks it would have been half way in Syria.

Now is getting "interesting"...

Pentagon backs Turkey’s version of events, blames ‘incursion’ of Russian jet

The U.S. military on Tuesday labeled as an “incursion” the Russian fighter jet that was shot down by Turkish aircraft over the Syria-Turkey border.

Army Col. Steve Warren, the top military spokesman in Baghdad, confirmed the Turk’s version of events in saying they repeatedly warned the two Russian SU-24 pilots to back off.

Col. Warren used the word “incursion” to describe the Russian flight, but also said the command was studying radars and other data, such as radio chatter, to make a definite conclusion.

Not necessarily if the Russians had been continually breaching Turkish airspace it would have only been a matter of time before they got caught with their pants down.

Nato should abandon Turkey for #ing up. Let Turkey deal with the problems they made, you don't just go out and shoot a freaking warplane down, AND definitely NOT in another country's air space. That is a direct war declaration.

Turkey has everything coming their way deserved.

well, I am surprised it took sop long before the US was implicated!

Fact is Turkey has rules of engagement and Russia knew what they were. If you keep treading on people's toes they are likely to nut you.

Judging by the comments made by all sides, it doesn't sound like it'll escalate into a full blown confrontation, thankfully. Was fully expecting Putin to retaliate with force to some degree.

About time the rest of the world STOPS STOPS STOPS going around and messing itself with a killing and bombing of "anyone and everyone" in the ISLAMIC COUNTRIES.

Let them kill and maim each other and winner takes the throne. These are degenerate backward people. The more one helps them the more violent their countries become.

I hope you're right but my gut tells me this aint over by a long shot. I think this could turn into a tit for tat game. Who know next week we could hear that Russia shot down a Turkish jet.
