No, the Turks maybe don't (quite a lot of you do) however your government most certainly provides indirect assistance. The border control and oil being the stand-out winners.

I'm not ignoring anybody, hense the replies.

Turk on the street by and large despises ISIS . Furthermore Turks know that it is up to Turks to defeat ISIS .

This is not the first time these events are taking place in the area .

Russian dominated Eastern Med is a disaster for NATO .

Not that difficult to understand as to WHY Turks have been given the green light by NATO to go ahead and shoot that Russian plane down .

Did I tell you that the Russian plane was killing INNOCENT TURKMENS ?

Turks called the Russian ambassador twice last week and told him to stop it .

Russians knew what was coming and they wanted to see what NATO is made off ?

Judging by this thread NATO is made up of cheese .

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't or didn't Syria own some Su-24s? If that's the case, being in that neighborhood would need you to be to keep close eyes on borders and airspace. What if a pilot joined ISIS and flew one of the Syrian planes from ISIS controlled airbase. They probably knew it was Russian but not in a position to take chances after ten warnings. But we'll see when more facts are out.

No I am saying putin is delusional in that he thinks its the 1980s still and that he is running the soviet union instead of modern day russia.

And where do you get this idea? Seriously, how can you compare he's actions to that of the former soviet. Which you claimed.
Is he corrupt? You bet ya.
Is he (ex)KGB? Yush
Should we trust him? Heck no.

But in recent instances he has proven to use reasoning and thoughtful moves instead of what we are currently seeing from our Western idiots.

RT Breaking: Russia positions warship offthe coast of Latakia to destroy any targets threatening Russian planes.

This posturing is ok but real need is

a) to supply some lethal weapons to PKK who can take good toll on Turki soldiers

b) send a bomber to Ankara to blow up atleast 2 dozen Turki vermin

c) Ask all the Russian, Chinese, Indian, others to STOP going to Turkey for visits and STOP all businesses with them.

This to only begin with. Turkey will keep on paying till it pays $10M in compensation to families of the pilots killed plus at market value of the plane shot down.

Yes, Syrian Turkmen Rebels. The same ones that were shooting the pilots as they floated down from the sky.

I don't think they like each other.

'Innocent' Turkmens, haha. Whilst they parade the streets with guns and anti-tank missiles waiting for an opportunity, like Turkey dropping a jet out the sky.

An aerial exchange at that altitude, that close to the border, could easily result in wreckage on either side of the border (or both). That the wreckage wound up in Syria is irrelevant to where the aircraft was when it was hit. The proximity of the skirmish to the border does not mean the Turkish entered Syrian airspace by a long shot.

True, but looking at the radar picture, I assume (perhaps wrongly) that the green dot is where it went down, and that is a bit too far. After all, as stated ... it appears as if the plane was inside turkish borders for mere seconds, I assume it takes at least that time to arm, aim and fire the weapon ... at which time, the plane leaves the airspace. The actual incident, therefore takes place outside turkish airspace. right?

What do you think the Turkish military was doing while it was approaching the border? They weren't just sitting there doing nothing. It's not like the Su-24 crossed the border and that was when they noticed it.

Russia deploys missile cruiser off Syria coast, ordered to destroy any target posing danger

The Turkish fighter jet made no attempts to contact Russian pilots before attacking the bomber, Rudskoy added.

“We assume the strike was carried out with a close range missile with an infra-red seeker,” Rudskoy said. “The Turkish jet made no attempts to communicate or establish visual contact with our crew that our equipment would have registered. The Su-24 was hit by the missile over Syria’s territory.”

I should read up on Georgia ( haven't invested much time in this period)
Ukraine has been pretty obvious from the start... Mcain, nulland...

Syria : Funny how the guy was an okay guy a few years back. I mean..

Point is : Even if Assad was a bad guy from the start, it seems the NATO didn't have any problems with him as long as he played along.

the fall of the saviet was in some ways bad for Russia, nothing bad about that.

It is run by congenital liars in the pay of the FSB, actually. They have been known to invent things out of whole cloth. The tell in the "murdered Russian pilots" story is that they did not even bother to fake a twitter post.

Russia just deployed two missile cruisers in the Syrian sea .. they have been ordered to take down any target that posing danger regardless of their origin nation.

All military contacts with Turkey has been suspended effectively immediately.

Moscow is also recalling it's non-essential staff from the Embassies in Turkey.

This is a very serious situation here. Especially since it's moving so fast. US Intelligence radar now indicates that the Turkish F-16 have entered Syrian Airspace in order to take down the Russian bombers.

I don't think Turkey is getting out of this easily. They really screwed themselves. NATO should temporarily suspend their allegiance with Turkey in order to prevent what it looks like a direct conflict.

I'v done these discussions before, none of us can take the moral highroad on this.
I don't like Putin, but I can't be blinded by hate. As I have said before recent actions from him have made more sense then our other world leaders.
