Still ignoring my question I see, you're not even doing a very good job at it.

I'm not going to let up you know - you've made clearly false assertions then completely ignore me when I ask you to explain yourself.

Athiest are devoid of all common sense and rationale if they support such actions in this manner.

I sure hope the term separation of church and state does not end us but as it stands it is continually being misinterpreted in a manner that ends with a completely faithless gov including the removal of all religious people and culture.

You just keep trying to fight that Separation of Church and State in every thread that mentions it.

Court cases prove it.

In the majority of Secular vs Religious - - involving government - - Secular is the clear winner.

At risk of derailing the thread, but this isn't exactly true and anyone honest can see that. More and more, in most western countries, it's Secular+Other Religions vs Christianity, and Secular+Other Religions win. No one has the balls to say anything most other religions.

Read my first post, if the fact they complained stops these children from getting toys them screw the whole lot of them, I couldn't care less if it was the Christian Muslim Jewish Hindu toy drive. You seem more driven on actually making sure that these kids don't receive anything unless you agree with the name of the drive. If some bat# insane woman is pushing religion so what? Punish the kids for her misdeeds? The world is absolutely full of whiny PC saps who think they are "special" and deserve to be heard, eh no if I see someone acting a twat like these airmen I'm gonna call it.

I haven't read every post so maybe this has been mentioned but is it possible the secretary just sent out a boilerplate letter provided by the organization they were partnering with?

I have never been confronted by a person of any other religion besides some form of christianity. But if i were,i would certainly not be open to listening to any of it.

Ummm mate....I believe you have completely misunderstood what I am talking about.

Firstly that post you quoted was not about you - the "that poster" I am referring to was Annee, not you.

Secondly, I would highly advise you read all my posts in this thread which pretty much agree with everything you said, except I also said it first.

Now please, go and read my posts then realise it's actually that "other poster" who is doing what you just accused me of.

EDIT: I see that you deleted the "Reply to Kryties" bit, so I'm guessing you did realise.

I never understood what charity and Jesus birthday have in common....
presents during solstice and decorated trees was a pagan tradition way before Jesus, christians and christmass.
And charities shouldn't be done in the name of a god once a year, but in the name of Humanity and any day of the year.

Good, it's important that this ends with the punishment of the kids, after all, they are the real enemy. It's not the adults fault that they caught the political correction bus and now the driver won't let them off.

Remember kids - you shall suffer at the hands of the adults.....every time.

Oh, and it's Gods fault too.

So, I blame the kids and God.

No more soup for you....

Hey now! Don't you start making sense like that!

Also, as stated by pretty much everyone thinking reasonably here, (I am atheist) give the children some toys and screw all the rest the labels don't matter, people either believe that stuff or they don't. A label isn't a diatribe it's just a label and matters very little to the substance of helping underprivileged children. Meh

The toy drive has nothing to do with the Air Force base and is still going on. Anyone from the Air Force base who wants to participate is completely free to do so.

www.samaritanspurse.org...

The issue isn't the toy drive. The issue is the religious proselytization of subordinates.

I'm what some may call an "Athiest" (personally I call it "I don't care") and I think it's ridiculous.

If they want to collect toys for kids then I see no problem at all with that. Some people take the whole "Atheism" thing way too far at times.

One would think this would be the logical Atheist response, kind of like not protesting that Santa is ringing a bell for charity.

Raise your hand if you realise that it's not the giving of toys that atheists are opposed too. It's using the giving of toys to children to spread the good word about (insert any religion) that is the problem. Endorsing the the drive with "christmas", is the same as endorsing it with christianity. If it was endorsed by a satanic church, or a muslim org, then the christians would want it banned. That is why there needs to be an enforced separation of church and state. Because religios don't play by the rules.

In this thread, i have seen a lot of the religios, twist the point of this story (including the OP) do you guys even understand why you shouldn't be given free license to push your unfounded and uncorroborated claims on everyone around you? Raise your hand.

A) That doesn't matter.

B) This is not the first complaint about what she is doing:

One member of the 436th, who spoke to Military.com on condition he not be identified for fear of reprisal, said Branch has sent out similar, Christian-oriented communications in the past and has also put "inappropriate" religious literature on squadron member's desks.
"This has been going on for a while," he said. "The problem is she's a gatekeeper to the commander, and she's constantly invoking this stuff."
