So then how could you as a civie understand what needs doing to win the fight?

So then why should your opinion carry as much weight as a soldier fighting in Afghanistan?

Our soldiers lives should not be at the whim of an ill informed civies judgements based on their everyday life, when combat is nothing even close.

How do you not see the difference?

If you are in a life and death situation, say a car wreck.

And you can clearly see you just need a pocket knife to cut the seat belt so you can crawl out before the burning car explodes.

Why should I on the outside watching TV get to have an equal say in what you need with none if the facts but a picture of a car wreck?

From my view, you need a first did kit, or a fire extinguisher.

When in reality a first aid kit isn't going to help you if you don't get out of the car alive first, let alone use a fire extinguisher while trapped inside the burning car.

Sorry but the guys on the ground risking their lives deserve more of a say in what is happening.

If you don't like it join, serve, then your informed opinion will matter.

I do get your point, however, you seem to be against change based on your own experiences.

Look back to your Dad's or Grandfathers era, how the army was then, the changes that have happened since. I can imagine them saying, if they did serve in the same type of unit as you, 'things weren't like that in my day.

Public opinion does bring on change to the army. It will carry on changing.

Id have fragged the pc bastards so that the rest of my troops survived to do the job .. meh .. modern military standards slack compared to back in 60's .. military been weakened since then due the pc bull# .. you dont survive combat being nice ..

With s.o.g we lost too many teams to charlie as it was ... wouldve been worse if we'd had to follow the pc bull# regs todays troops have their hands tied by ..

pc has no place in the military period.. end of ..

Wars arent the same because its on tv, the only way to win a war is to kill a whole lot of people, go back to black out on wars and they wont last so long.

Wars are the same. A few people at the top, safe, sending troops to fight that war for what ever reason, win and loose.

So much is given to those in units from what ever side, so much is not spoken of about those who fight that aren't in them.

When S does HTF, prejudice is irrelevant beyond the side you are on.

yeah, we come from the same pot historically. You're history is mine up to a point and has led you on a way of capitalism due to the opportunity your early settlers had. The USA is amazing to grow and become so powerful given its relatively short newly established history.

You will, in time turn more liberal, as most things have been bought up and owned, new enterprise and the age of the pioneer is over.
The rich get richer, established wealth carries on.
The first colonies on an EArth like planet will seek independence and be very capitalist, until that breaking point.

We are your history, that along with the other european countries your ancestors came from.

Its a shame we can't palm off a few of our royals your way, see it as compensation for taking flight.

Trying to forget all that makes warriors win in the pretext if their bs made up "perfect world" that is an obvious illusion and cannot and will not ever exist.

That vid speaks volumes. I was there when those changes started/

the small ones at first that made all of us infantrymen think "wtf?..ok"
then came the more ridiculous tattoo and girly magazine issues. eyebrows raised pretty high.

ROE changed and made it incredibly hard to defend yourself, others, and secure the area around your area of operation without UCMJ action against you.

when the word was coming out that they higher ups wanted to know who,what,where,and serial numbers on personal firearms.. most of us knew that was wrong,the smart ones. some went along like good soldiers and didn't really think about it until others (like myself) spoke up about how it was wrong. some of the command refused orders and of course were punished in certain ways. some of the NCO's refused also,punished as well. Some outright lied out of necessity( to those asking and for the ones to be asked).

so many things happened in such a short time and the worst i think was the quality of the Joes. you aren't allowed to be harsh,you have to be a babysitter. these are people that need to fight and be prepared to die reduced to sensitive children crying about being yelled at to loud.

i dont even understand how this has been let to happen

I'm not sure why I would want to join and serve with a bunch of backwards macho hicks who do the dirty work for the bankers, the rich, and the powerful. It seems they're as much of a problem, if not more, than the bankers, for they enable injustice at every turn.
