yeah but to be fair john, you don't need to serve a term in the white house to have an opinion on the in's and outs of what goes on in there.

The pc label gets strung up like an enemy that feels good to shoot down. pc means a broad band of ideas and ideals when judged as a whole, it fits well into liberty and freedom, the very foundation of America, the Country you serve to protect.

pc comes across as namby pamby, weak and against the true American values. Freedom and liberty, for who?

My opinion on this, is that if you're ordered to not have porn, you have it anyways, and your sergent looks the other way he's lowering the standards of what it takes to be a soldier. You don't possess the proper mental fortitude, and they're making an exception for you and your flaws. Not too different from those claims of women being too physically weak for the battlefield and meeting a different standard really.

Well its not the guys in a foxhole Id be worried about be they black,yellow,white,gay,lesbian or athiest they will pull together and fight for each other when crunch time comes.Obama has laid off well over 200 senior commanders often on trumped up or ridiculous charges such as a using a racial slur or even using counterfeit poker chips.These are the cadre of individuals whom you would hope like General Patton are genuine students of military history strategy tactics and logistics on a grand scale these are the people who win and loose wars.This cadre has been gutted and replaced with accountants and career ass kissers the ultimate example of this was dead bodies piling up in Afghanistan because there was no money during a Government shut down to bring them home and no one with the balls to do so,the US military is loosing experienced pilots with forced layoffs and many others with combat experience to the point Id consider dangerous your still the worlds 800lb gorilla but yes you've got problems.

Unless its drastically changed ( wouldnt be surprised if has.. ) the only businesses found right off most military bases used to be strip clubs ( may whatever dieties there are bless the girls dancing ) .. bars .. pawnshops.. used car lots ..

Last thing wanted or needed when coming in from field was the dog and pony show bull# from remfs and worse when return to the world get spit on called babykiller and worse by civilians .. get denied jobs due to having been a combat vet ( unless you lied and said you werent ) .. drinking.. smoking.. chasing women were how one relaxed and ( in the arms of a lovely woman) forgot for a short time the mud.. blood.. death.. chaos.. stench of the battlefield ..

Between returning from first tour in vietnam and walking in on wife in bed with another man ( walked out .. let lawyer dispose of wife was on next flight back to vietnam and second tour ) tours 3 and 4 because couldnt stand being treated like dirt by damn civilians.. so went back to vietnam .. after that due regs couldnt do anymore tours .. put self through uni and started practice medicine in war zones and disaster areas around world.. theres no place in a war for pc bull# it cold harsh dirty and only goal is survive .. being pc one does not survive.

While I agree with most of his anti-PC BS, which if he's telling the truth must be very frustrating for those that serve, I think his little rant at the start of his speech was stupid.

He starts off with:
"Let's assume you're a radical left wing zealot who was raised by actual communists, naturally enough and you use the US military for capitalist exploitation and colonial racism."

I think stuff like that kinda just ruins his credibility in showing his bias too much. I think he'd come across a lot more credible leaving stuff like that out and stick the facts and less sensationalism. It's not that I even disagree with his statement so much because I can see what he's saying and agree to a point. But by just switching the Left Wing Zealot with Right Wing Zealot and Communist to Fascist the same statement would apply.

I've watched him before and he always does stuff like that. When he get's to the actual meat of what he's going to talk about he's not too bad but he comes across like a neoconservative douche by including all the other stuff. To me he comes across like just another Radical Conservative talking head who thinks the Right can do no wrong while blaming the Left for everything. The world is just not that simple and one sided and if he'd ease up on the partisanship stuff he'd do much better.

I feel like there is some sort of loss in communication between us. I'm not saying that my opinion should be taken seriously by anyone. I'm not saying you or anyone has to agree with it. I'm not even sure I've really had an opinion so far that is trying to dictate how the military is run. I am just saying though that obviously there needs to be a change. I get that the rampant PC lately in every institution is ruining this country. But wouldn't you agree that the military is, if anything political? I mean everything the military does creates political ramifications. Everything a soldier does on their off time now, due to technological and social developments over the years, is watched and judged no matter what you want or think. It just is. I'm not saying I agree with it, in fact, earlier I believe I stated that I disagree with that as well. And I don't think fragging your own brothers in arms, despite your own personal opinions would result in anything good. That is literally traitorous. They are still on your side, trying to complete the same goals as you and your higher ups.

The capitalization of random words makes you seem super reasonable and measured.

Lol, I meant no actual offense, Tech (otherwise I'd have skipped the smilie)

I understand the need to relax, but at the same time, methods of relaxing vary quite widely. One could come back & blackout drink, smoke 3 packs a day, snort something, bang everything within a 50 mile radius, etc and call it a relaxation method. Relaxing to repeated excess can generally be considered a vice, but the extreme excesses indicate problems. In anyone. Namely that the relaxation method isn't working, just covering up stuff. In that sense, I don't think porn & other "methods" should be prohibited, but rather, counseling should be strongly urged (I'll stop just short of saying it should be mandatory, you cant help those who buck it) You're treading a thin line if it takes that much "material" to relax as it is, right? Perhaps the coping behaviors would benefit from a little reexamining.

Edit: I'm specifically referring to stateside/base down time, not active battlefield time. I'd assume most don't have the luxury to go to such excesses to kick back in the thick of completing objectives. If they do, that actually would worry me in that is shows the liability one could be.
