I wasn't there to ask his ID, but he was among equally armed and angry protesters, so if he was a ringer....he had nerves of steel for risking a violent outcome from both sides. I'll take the reports at face value for him being a member of the anti-government folks at Mesquite.

It's sad that MSNBC/NBC interviewed more first-hand witnesses than the police have so far. But I suppose they were more worried about dealing with the protests.

I don't see a good outcome in this situation because the witnesses that are eventually interviewed will be given less credibility than the police officers on site.

I just figured it out, his name is Eric Parker and from the quit bits I've read I'm not sure if he got in trouble or not. I'm still reading.

I have no clue what you're talking about but in May the FBI launched investigations into these images and are looking for anyone else who has pointed a gun at agents. I wouldn't be surprised if this guy gets popped within the next few months, along with many others.

You don't get militia support for rioting in your own town, destroying your own surroundings. Sorry.

Oh, forgive me... I didn't realize you were entirely serious about who he was as an individual. I guess he made himself a public name then.

I think S.O. makes a real good point by the question though. Federal agents were quite literally no more than an inch of finger movement and 3-8lbs of pressure from taking fire....and taking it from what would qualify as one well fortified piece of cover by any standard. They didn't shoot the guy ... and we know by other reports, they DID have snipers deployed there. Why the kid in Ferguson?

I imagine the attention now focused will insure nothing is missed and it all comes out. The sooner the FBI gets into this with a commanding role, the better. Locals don't much care for the FBI and the FBI just loves finding a police corruption problem, if it exists somewhere. (It's happened near where I live a number of years back..they are eager beavers on that kind of case, as they should be on legitimate ones).

I just hope this settles down. There are a couple of people I met from Occupy up there and as one might imagine, not the easiest to touch base with and find out how they are. They'd be attracted to a thing like this, for the social justice of it.

Which was initially developed for war zones. LRAD

Can't tell for sure if it is though.
But certainly lots of municipalities now have them.

I can't tell you why. I'm not talking about the crimes themselves, I'm talking about the reaction to the crime in ruining and destroy local business and stealing what is not yours over a guy getting killed. There is no reason to destroy anything in your town because you are mad at any certain situation and can't control your anger. Whatever happened for the cop to shoot that person in ferguson is what it is. You can't be rioting and destroying things or you're going to have the Calvary called in. That's how it is. If you want to riot, so be it but don't complain when they come to prevent you from destroying and stealing.

No but you should when the police are infringing upon the 1st amendment

Freedom of protest and not to get hit with rubber and pepper bullets or tear gas while doing so or to prevent you from your right to protest

Once the riots break out and things get destroyed you lose your right to protest in that area for the safety of the rest of the population. If you can't understand that, then sorry, I don't know what to tell you.

Yes I see what you mean but there's talk that the police came in all dressed up like there in Iraq and intimidating the protesters

What would you do in that situation

I take your point and I am very mixed on it. My experience in recent protesting was a matter of miles from where this is happening right now with Occupy STL. I can almost be sure they are facing some of the same guys we did there. Little Ferguson doesn't have that police manpower. That is all coming from mutual aid calls across the St Louis Metro area is my guess. Many of those tactical guys in the photos have no visible name tags either, so it's anyone's guess who and where on some.

No. People cannot be allowed to riot and tear up property, much less other people. A big but here tho .. Sharpton and the rest are bringing out everyone. Kids, moms, dads, AND the criminal element all mixed in a bad bad spot for how police are lining up to put down the unrest. I don't know how else to put it with 5-6 man squads roaming with automatic weapons like it's an Iraqi town or something.

The protesters probably need to let this cool...and the response needs adult supervision in the worst way. Someone who can work with de-escalation.

If someone could embed this youtube I would appreciate the assist.

It is portrayed as police taking down a six month pregnant woman in Ferguson. It does not say if this is tonight or last. It was posted on twitter and youtube very recently.

I'd go in my house and wait for the trouble to calm down, call my friends on the phone and arrange a protest away from the looted area to allow the business that were destroyed to clean up and get their lives back on track. I'd allow those people to get trucks in and out and get insurance agents in there so they don't lose anymore hard earned money. But I guess you don't care about them, would rather cause a scene and act up. GREAT COMMUNITY THERE, I'D LOVER TO LIVE THERE /sarcasm. I'd arrange my protest where anyone could show up without worrying about being shot with rubber bullets because we were in a riot zone. Like normal people who plan a protest should do. Just because you declare your intentions to protest doesn't mean you're "giving into the man" or whatever the hell it's called.
