Weakening Russia by trapping them into civil war in Ukraine was an ideal solution but Putin is not biting.
Really the US has caused a civil war in Ukraine...Interesting.
Now has the US or any of it's allies put military hardware in the hands of Ukraine or the Right Sector, because that is something that has been shown Putin has done with the separatists.
The civil war is being pushed by the Russians and the world knows this even though Putin tries to deny it.
All of this is happening because US is trying so hard to remain the only superpower and keep its dominance.
No all of this is happening because Putin is a paranoid leader of State. If the US wanted to do that it very well could have done that when the fall of the Soviet Union happened so that argument doesn't work anymore.
They will try in a near future to destabilise Russia with some similar events in some other country in Russian neighbourhood.
Russia doesn't need the US to do something like that as they have done that all by themselves...Georgia and now Ukraine shows it.
In my opinion Russia should do the same and instead of being always a step behind they should take initiative and sponsor some anti US governments around the world.
And somehow you think that doesn't already happen?

Kharkiv, 15/06/14, people heading towards Russian Consulate, asking Russia to protect people of Novorussiya from Kiev forces.
"We bow our heads to the heroes who lost their lives for the sake of their country, to prevent the war from coming into the house of each of us," Prime-Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said.
"They lost their lives because they defended men and women, children and the elderly who found themselves in a situation facing a threat to be killed by invaders and sponsored by subhumans," he said. "First, we will commemorate the heroes by wiping out those who killed them and then by cleaning our land from the evil."
Sub-human is a term that became infamous when the Nazis used it to describe "inferior people"[1] often referred to as "the masses from the East," that is Jews, Gypsies, and Slavs; including Poles, Serbs, Belarusians, Russians, and Rusyns.[2][3] The term was also applied to black people and Mulattos.[4] Jewish people were to be exterminated[5] in the Holocaust, just as Slavs in Generalplan Ost, who were destined to be removed from European territory under German control through murder and ethnic cleansing. While the Nazis were inconsistent in the implementation of their policy,[6][7] its genocidal death toll was in tens of millions of victims.

Nationalists always gain popularity in countries who are having economic problems like Greece and Russia.

Ukraine's foreign minister has become embroiled in an unusual diplomatic row after he was caught on camera making abusive remarks about Vladimir Putin outside the Russian embassy in Kiev on Saturday evening.
As the conflict in eastern Ukraine has deepened in recent months, the chant of "Putin khuilo" has become ever more popular among Ukrainians who blame Russia for stoking discontent in the east. Khuilo is a Russian swearword that approximately translates as "#er" or "dickhead".
Andriy Deshchytsia, the country's acting foreign minister, arrived at the Russian embassy to reason with crowds who had gathered outside, angered that pro-Russia rebels had brought down a Ukrainian transport plane near Luhansk early on Saturday, killing 49 people on board. The crowds threw rocks and eggs at the embassy, destroyed diplomatic vehicles, and painted swastikas on the gates, chanting "Putin is a fascist" and "Putin khuilo".
Deshchytsia tried to calm some in the crowd, telling them Russia should answer for its actions but that storming the embassy was not the correct response. When he was shouted down by the angry mob, he responded: "I am for you protesting. I am ready to be here with you and say 'Russia, get out of Ukraine'… Yes, Putin is a khuilo, yes."
Seizing on his words, a delighted group of protesters then struck up a "Putin khuilo" chant, leaving the minister looking somewhat bemused.
The incident prompted fury in Moscow, where officials are already incensed by the attack on the embassy and its property.
United Nations, June 16. / Correspondent. ITAR-TASS Oleg Zelenin /. The UN Security Council on Monday will hold a closed meeting on the situation in Ukraine
Russia and Ukraine failed to resolve a gas pricing dispute during Sunday talks in Kiev. Gazprom says its demands have not changed and Kiev is expected to pay its debt of $1.95 billion by 06:00 GMT on Monday, otherwise the gas supply will be stopped.
Gazprom’s position remained unchanged after EU-brokered negotiations finally ended around 2:30 a.m. Moscow time (10:30 p.m. GMT) on Monday, Gazprom spokesperson Aleksey Kupriyanov told reporters.
If Ukraine’s gas debt is not paid on time, Russia will be switching to an advance payment system, which will essentially stop gas supply to Ukraine, he added.
Bolivian President Evo Morales has urged the world community to bring an end to the UN Security Council as it is not meeting its goal of securing peace between states, the Bolivian ABI agency reports.

LUGANSK, June 15, /ITAR-TASS/. All army units in Lugansk and east of the city have switched sides to join the newly proclaimed Lugansk People’s Republic, head of the republic Valery Bolotov said on Sunday.
“By now, all army units in Lugansk and east of the city have come over to the Lugansk People’s Republic, except those staying at the airport. We are in talks with them, trying to persuade them,” he told a news conference.
He refuted reports that the Dnepropetrovsk paratrooper brigade had left the Lugansk international airport. “No one left the territory of the airport,” he said.
Commenting on reports that the Dnepropetrovsk paratroopers had been barred from leaving the airport by a Lvov brigade, also defending the airport, Bolotov said, “If the Dnepropetrovsk servicemen ask us to help, we will help them.
Vladimir Gromov, the chief of the republic’s counter-intelligence service, told a news conference that anti-saboteur units will be formed.
“From tomorrow, we are forming a special unit that will work to prevent subversive activities,” he said.
Historical analogies may be inaccurate, but Americans may need to look at their own civil war and compare it to what is happening in Ukraine now. Today the US supports a murderous criminal adventure that has little to do with unifying the country.
This assessment came from Professor Stephen Cohen, prominent US scholar of Russian studies and author, who advised George H.W. Bush in the late 1980s. He spoke to RT about the mistakes of the consecutive American administrations in their Russia policies, the worst crisis in decades that they led to and the deterioration of political discourse in America that prevents things from changing in Washington.
Cohen challenged the narrative of the Ukrainian events dominating in the US, calling the military crackdown by the government an “unwise, reckless, murderous, inhuman campaign that Kiev is conduction against what are admittedly rebel provinces.”
