In an unprecedented move, Ukrainian self-defense forces and Kiev’s troops have carried out an exchange of dead bodies near Donetsk. However, a fragile ceasefire reached for the exchange was interrupted by shooting.
Waving a white cloth, self-defense forces of the Lugansk People’s Republic, wearing camouflage and masks, met Ukrainian troops on a road. The latter were also hold a white flag with a black ribbon over it.
The dramatic exchange took place at dawn in the eastern town of Karlivka, just outside Donetsk.
The Lugansk militiamen took the bodies of nine of their killed comrades and also 12 injured troops and handed the remains of over 100 of Kiev’s army fighters to the Ukrainian forces, "not counting those in the airport."
At 23:00 (MSK): the situation changes on an hourly basis. The Junta troops have retreated to the previously held positions near Kirovsk. As a result of work by centres of resistance, Junta has abandoned and retreated from Yampol and Seversk. A Su-25 ground attack fighter was shot down over Yampol, this has been confirmed now. With respect to the the two aircraft and a "crocodile" (Mi-24 helicopter) shot down earlier, there has been no confirmation yet. The battles continued. Yampol was fight till the end.
At 23:10 (MSK): at the southern outskirts of Krasniy Liman, there is maneuver-centric combat with the Kirovsk checkpoint. A column comprised of 20 armoured elements (3 tanks and 17 "BMP" APCs) is moving from the direction of Kirovsk toward the vicinity of the 3rd School (Krasniy Liman). An additional 2 tanks and 5 "BMP" APCs. One tank and a "tachanka" (a towed machine gun or an artillery piece) moving in the direction of Ostavki.
At 23:15 (MSK): The column [noted above], having passed down the Lenin street, turned back in the direction of the Golubiye Ozera ("Blue Lakes'). Large-caliber machine gun fire in the southern part of Krasniy Liman.
Yulia Tymoshenko said on the phone she would like to nuke all the Russians and East Ukraine, and then do the Russians proper. Did that threat come out of nowhere? As the former president, was she aware of some of these proliferation problems that the public was never told about so as not to scare them?
Our governments had failed miserably to protect us from such a Jericho threat. On the contrary, some were involved in it. And then you see we poured two trillion into the phony al-Qaeda wars, and pushed for a war with Iran based again on a phony nuclear threat, while the real one was never discussed. Who could benefit from that?
Frankly, when I see countries doing really stupid things with huge downside risks and no visible upside, I begin to get very concerned. Corporate media has completely ignored our VT series, nothing really unusual there, but we did get some notice of a different kind.
A national security letter was put on one of the sources. That is not done for make-believe things. So they validated the series by doing that, something they should have thought of beforehand.
So the showdown continues. The East Ukrainian miners marched and pledged today that if Kiev does not stop its military attacks on the region, they will put down their shovels and pick up their guns to defend their homes and families. They view the situation with no confusion.
The idiot Poroshenko actually said, and I am not kidding, that he is waiting a few more days to get the Russian border locked down before declaring a ceasefire. He has about 90% of the 2000 miles of border yet to do... in a few days.
You see why I used the word idiot. You just can't make this stuff up. Poroshenko is just another one of these totally incompetent leaders who do not get where they are by accident. Someone wanted an idiot in the Ukraine presidency, and it looks like they got one. He and his backers are a major threat to international security.
Russia should say openly that if heavy weapons like tanks and artillery guns are used on civilian fighters then Russia will provide similar assets to its supporters.
There are many ways Moscow can help and should immediately.

And what makes you think he hasn't already done something such as that?
Also if he did that it would show that Russia has always been providing assets to the separatists although Russia denies it.

It's pretty well known that they have already helped...foreign fighters, Russian military hardware.
You do understand that Russia is the reason this situation is happening in Ukraine, because it wasn't happening before Crimea.

Ukraine is stage managed from Washington DC.
The coming war will have no resemblance to WWII. Your figures of 'thousands' is baby talk.
Ukraine simply does not understand what it is getting into.
West is pushing Russia hard from all sides. Nothing good can come out of it.
Ukraine is getting latest military hardware from NATO. The stakes have become very high. Obviously Russian tech is not able to match NATO. But things will change in time.
Any Ukrainian victory will prove to be temporary. A lot of blood will flow. The people who are celebrating today in Kiev will be the one on the firing line tomorrow.

Washington wants to have nothing to do with this you havnt figured that out yet? Obama is avoiding this situation completely and doing the bare minimum he figures the international community demands. If this was truly a plot by the US troops would already be on the ground and the Russian troops would have been thrown out of Ukraine. See to the US theres no vested interest in Ukraine it was only an issue because Russia or more correctly Putin ignored international law and the US cant be seen as ignoring it. In truth if Russia took Ukraine at this point means nothing to the US except more countries joining NATO.

Ukraine cannot afford long lasting conflict as simple as that. There is no money. Junta masters from Washington are aware of that and they are provoking Russia harder than ever. Will not work. And winter will be around the corner with no gas from Russia. Ukraine is doomed as well as US plan to provoke Russia.
NAF forces are becoming bigger by days and they are now in possesion of some serious weaponry.
I predict conflict to escalate to new levels in coming days.

Well id say Ukraine can aford it its Russia that cant in the long run. Russia's economy cant afford a long war thats why Putins trying to play this game sending in troops undercover stirring unrest. He doesnt have the manpower to take Ukraine and hold it nor the money necessary to do so. Crimea alone is going to be a huge drain on the Russian economy. And dont think the Russian military is vastly superior to Ukraine most of their army are conscripts they do one year service and leave the military.

Ukrainian army? The one complaining they have nothing to eat, lol. Go back a page and see what that soldier is saying.
They are not able to handle even a few thousand of Pro Russians. 2 months later, apart from destroying residential areas from distance they have done nothing. They are a joke. Disorganised, no coordination, scared to go into direct conflict,
no money, no food apart from donations, no battle experience, luck of motivation...you name it. They missed opportunity at the beginning when Pro Russians had just basic weapon and low numbers. Too late now, in my opinion, to turn everything around.

Come winter and Ukraine as a state will collapse. Then we will see how much help the US or EU comes with to the bootpolishing Junta in Kiev.

Russian President Vladimir Putin bestowed state honors in recent months on more than 300 Russians who it declared had done an outstanding job in helping Russia’s seizure from Ukraine of the Crimean peninsula. But the happy news has been kept strangely quiet. The official Russian presidential website, which assiduously lists the text of each Putin ukaz, or executive order, skipped over Ukaz No. 269, in which he bestowed most of those honors. The website simply skips from No. 268 to No. 270, and the president’s press office told the Russian daily Vedomosti last month that Ukaz No. 269 “is not within public access.”
While the decree is secret, the names of its honorees are slowly leaking out. Many of those known until now are prominent media executives and journalists who helped shape the Crimea story to the Kremlin's liking -- a reminder that the Russian state's propaganda machine, both domestic and international, is one of its most powerful weapons in the conflict with Ukraine.
MOSCOW (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday ordered military forces in central Russia on combat alert as well as a drill of airborne troops, a day after Ukraine ordered a cease-fire with pro-Russian rebels.
NATO said earlier this week that Russia has resumed a military build-up on the border with Ukraine where pro-Russian separatists have been fighting government forces for weeks in a conflict that has left about 300 people dead and displaced over 34,000.
