At least 21 insurgents have been killed in central Iraq after a car bomb was detonated by accident, reports say.

Two words.

First one is synonym of pleasurable.

Second word could mean relief.

GOOD RIDDANCE !!!!!!

I just heard of this.

I think it's both hilarious, for many several reasons and pathetic for many several reasons.

You don't see too many job position openings, or resumes with qualifications including EXPERIENCED Suicide Bomber.

Ah.
WTF is wrong with these people?

Sometimes I'm tempted to be of favor of some of those old-school draconian measures along the lines of entire genetic lines and ancestries get erased from history. Revenge so perceived slight done your clan/family? The action erases all of them.

We wouldn't necessarily need actually be draconian and carry out the erasure of entire bloodlines and extended families.
Just threaten, and then, if anyone is tempted to test the threat, everyone on their FB friends list gets disappeared, and all the places they lived bulldozed with all possessions burned as part of the theater.
Where the people get disappeared to could be quite nice and even better than living in whatever they got now.
Local media, and hostile factions only need be impressed with enough evidence to convince them that any damage they do will result in biblical consequences for their entire line and friends list.

That's a little bit how many treaties were cemented in the middle ages.
Hostages were exchanged in good faith as leverage against one another to guarantee a peace, or else.
Family, clan, and bloodlines seem to mean quite a bit to these cultures.
Perhaps the old methods, or, something similar may have a calming effect on these fanatics?

eh.

Ah well, if you play with fire, you may get burned.

I guess Muslim mothers don't tell their kids that one.

Yes, because these guys are completely a-typical for the average Muslim.

well i guess im a bit different i figure the fight needs to be won. You cant allow people who are willing to kill women and children to continue without a fight.

Who do you plan to fight? How do you plan to win? You can't fight what you can't see or find until it wants to engage you. You can't fight what isn't even physical in the ultimate bottom line. We're fighting an idea at this stage as much as anything. It didn't start that way and it shouldn't have gone that way ..but it has. It's Vietnam ALL over again and now, it's really matched that in more ways than is funny to talk about.

How do you defeat the Taliban? They're based in a nation we can't fight and can't interdict. Like Vietnam. They hide among and within civilians too scared to give them up ..and why should they? They're dead if they do and US troops damn sure won't defend them. We're leaving and they know it. No one in their right mind will risk a thing for us now...when they'll be there to face the music when we're back home trying to forget it.

I think we had our chance to win this thing in November of 2001. CIA and Green Berets lead a force of Northern Alliance fighters right up Bin Ladens tail pipe and they HAD his sorry butt cold. All they asked Washington for was a blocking force to be dropped on the Paki- border so the pursuit wouldn't see the bastard just cross lines and vanish (which is what happened). CIA got told 'thanks...no thanks...stand down and let the Marines take over'. Well.. they did. Bin laden laughed his way into safety and the first waves of US Marines came into the Kandahar region. A real war was set and it NEVER HAD TO HAPPEN.

We can't win...what our leaders never intended to BE won. It's far past time, I believe, that ALL our people get out of there. That includes the US people at the Baghdad Embassy (If they want to call that City within a City an Embassy.)

Hopefully the final evacuations, when they come from Baghdad and Kabul...aren't choppering people off rooftops again. That made for horrible P.R. the first time and I was just a toddler then. I'd hate to have to live the sequel of shame.

Im scared its going to get far worse before it gets better. As for who we know whos involved we just dont want to admit it.Even in Afgan we knew the Saudis were backing the taliban. The government knew it as well you would see saudi shieks visiting them its no secret. I guess oil is more important than stopping terrorism,At least until they turn there attention back to us.

The terrorists must actually be having the last laugh as they'd be on their way not to meet their maker but the promised 72 virgins.

Oh wait! Problem.....

It's always a pleasure to see good decent people having a big laugh at others being horribly blown to pieces.

It's good sometimes to just sit back and revel in the deaths of others. Makes us all feel good inside doesn't it?

Enjoy your day folks - I'm sure those random non-entities who got turned into bloody chunks won't! Hahahahahahah!

Do you mean the people who were planning to murder innocents and wound up killing themselves? Yeah I am laughing my arse off at them, and I don't feel the least bit bad about it.

yes it is, especially when it's a bunch of coward chicken sh@@ murderous bastards that won't put on a uniform so they can be identified as they hide among the women, children and old folks while they target the same or could care less when the former are in the line of fire.

Some people live by the killing of others.

Yes...It is satisfying to see people who live that way, die the way they would have others perish.

I call it poetic justice, or karma...depends on how one looks at it. 21 down and a few thousand to go before the civilians of Iraq may know a day without bomb blasts and gunfire. Those civilians are the ones I care about expending energy to worry over...if at all. It sure isn't the murdering scumbags this thread is about.

They died as they lived...and good riddens to bad rubbish. I can't say it much simpler than that.

So if they put on a uniform and then blew some people up that would be acceptable?

Well they have something in common with the U.S. military then.

before the civilians of Iraq may know a day without bomb blasts and gunfire.

They knew of those days prior to the U.S invasion.

Those civilians are the ones I care about expending energy to worry over

What about all the ones killed by drone strikes? You don't seem too apologetic about those - in fact in another thread you were denigrating Glen Greenwald for bringing such things to light. Or are they somehow an exception?

It's all a matter of personal opinion here.

I no more find pleasure in the deaths of those men than I would if it was Iraqi civilians or U.S. personnel.

I find it perverse to be reveling over someone's death.

I guess that depends on the uniform and why. For example a mail man no shouldnt be blowing people up. UPS guys probably want to its cold and there wearing shorts.

Its called irony and thats what makes it funny here they were making bombs to blow up civilians and ended up blowing themselves up instead gotta admit thats funny. Now though i kind of agree with your point since i raised it earlier ill say no one is going to lose sleep that these people are no longer going to be able to kill or maim others any more. If they were truly men instead of cowards they wouldnt be building bombs to kill women and children they would be fighting to overthrow the government. Than they could even wear a uniform if they like we call them armies. However Armies dont build explosives hide them in a public place and wait for grandma to be taking the kids for a walk.
