The only " Truth " I heard him expound is that space is limitless; the rest is just the rantings of a person, well known for his heroin addiction and alcoholism, who wants people to believe a comedian can be some sort of a great spiritual guru / leader / evangelist.

What he speaks of is not socialism, not even close. What you're confusing socialism with is "anything-not-compatible-to-your-standard-"perfect"-system". You act as if predatory capitalism is a functional system. Just because somebody suggests a new system (which, by the way, people have been echoing loooong before Russel Brand started speaking out), it doesn't mean it's "socialism".

Your reasons for not liking him are the same reasons he doesn't like the current system. It's also funny you mention "Jesus" as he follows his teachings far closer than any of the current Ayn Rand Satanism that plagues the current pro-capitalist politicians.

The man is not spreading new ideas so, if you want to blame somebody, blame the average critically-thinking person you see on the street because they have probably had at least half of these thoughts rolling around in their heads for years. He speaks the exact same words and concepts many of us have (even on ATS). The difference is that he's famous and extremely well-spoken. This gives him an accountability and he's utilizing it. The man has found god and is shouting it from the mountain tops... you'd think Christians of all people would understand his passion.

The system we have in place is failing us on many levels. I do not think socialism is the answer. But we do need something different...

What we need is to wake up to our own responsibility. If the system is failing us it's only because we're playing a part in it. Stop buying the crap that funds it. Vote with your wallet.
I'm very suspicious of any "celebrity" that comes out with any of this socialist, we're all one rubbish. The media will only ever let out what it wants for the agenda that's being pushed. Complete and total mind control, and eveyone laps it up.

1. Our short attention spand will forget about it tomorrow
2. It's neccasary for "us" to know such information to achieve their goal
3. They know most people won't believe the information or won't listen to others who relay the message
4. People won't even listen

5. Russell Brand is a drug user and alcoholic and wouldn't know what a vibration is unless he's talking about his hands the day after a bender

I bet you use "communism" and "socialism" interchangeably, too. When you say "socialism", you are thinking China but it really means Norway or one of the many thriving socialist nations. The US is, and always has been, a socialist nation. It's a matter of degrees. Your roads? Socialist. Your police force? Socialist. Your parks? Socialist. Transit? Socialist. Space exploration? Socialist.

And whatever we have left that isn't socialist really is but it's only favoring the privileged few who run those industries that get our tax subsidies like the oil, military, beef and dairy, etc. But I'm guessing that kind of socialism is okay with you.

Actually he reminds me so much of the Geico commercial cavemen that I had to shut my eyes to listen to him speak...

OK, I listened to the video...a few things:

- I think he did some heavy psychedelics, and may still be doing them (especially Ecstasy)
- The music is a bit overboard
- The man needs someone to dress him properly, and by GOD man, use some shampoo PLEASE

So, I'm shooting the messenger.

That doesn't mean the message is bad...especially since there are few in the MSM who are even remotely espousing any of the ideas he is (though he is definitely borrowing them, not much new there really).

What he is saying needs to be heard, to at least *start* the conversation. Sucks it's him, and parts of his message aren't presented in the best manner for the general populace (just read some of the remarks in this thread to see what I mean), but you take what you can get. At least expose people to the idea that they CAN think differently about their situation. That alone is worthwhile.

LOVED the Paxman interview, BTW. That one has a much better presented, consistent message and shows his passion. Don't agree about the no voting thing though. Not taking part in determining your own future, no matter how inane the process might seem, basically tells the PTB that you don't care to exercise your power and thus gives them power over you beyond what you aren't using yourself.

One thing I can't quite understand is the Christian's demonizing this New Age movement.
Now as far as I know this "new age" says nothing but love yourself, love others, just love. Feel connection.
It does not seem demonic at all. Ok, so what if its a deception like they believe? WHAT EXACTLY IS BEING DECIEVED!?
Logically, I never understood the hate on New Age ideals. My good friend is a devout christian so I hear it all the time.
A kicker also is that Christian's claim its wrong and cry out they try to get us to believe them. Well, aren't you trying to get THEM to believe YOU? I like it when people say that. Perfect opportunity to brain slap them.

Mind you, i'm not anti christian. I sleep with the bible next to my bed almost every night. I like to decypher things which is why I got such a liking to the book but wont call myself a full blown Christian.

There is nothing new age about what RB is saying. It's basically just his interpretation of eastern religion and philosophies, like Taoism, Buddhism and Hinduism. Belief systems that predate Christianity.

Taoism's rich palette of liturgy and ritual makes the Tao more real to human beings and provides a way in which humanity can align itself more closely to the Tao to produce better lives for all.

I suggest that you consider you get out from your extremely narrow and uneducated point of view and study more books.

Read parts of canon that is at least a couple of thousand years ago that doesn't come from the Abrahamic tree of religions and you might just gain an additional new perspective that is NOT new age at all.

Why are new agers idiots. The ones I've met have all been perfectly decent with the best of intentions. Their beliefs are no more idiotic than any religious believer or athiest.

That is not even true. Its a duality, if some didn't speak the truth the school would be taken away from them. And even just deep thinking on this makes one realize this. For if it was just theirs outright to do as they wish, why would the world's elites, who run everything in secret as a kind of shadow counsel, and have all the world's resources and police forces/armies at their disposal, even play the game of free will, democracy and not just run it outright as a hellzone/fascist system. Why do they do a slow process of laying seige to freedom, or consciousness? Because they may claim ownership of souls and people but they are well aware they own nothing but their own hides. They have to run it in various different camps, like a collage of different lessons, and not abuse or step over the line of how negative it can be.

In a duality wherever there is lies and dark stuff pumped out, there is light and truth. Its always in plain sight.

The ones most in danger of being whistle blowers are those who sign contracts.....However, anyone who is doing the work they came to do , will find themselves for the most part protected! Because you don't receive the golden ticket home to rest and relaxation until you've done your best.

So even those who have signed contracts need to meditate and get in touch with their real Power/Source/Higher Self and Goodness/Creator, because the dark squares cannot even touch the white squares in the chess game. Its only by compromising our love for each other and falling in frequency that fall into their dominions or traps. And its by raising it and giving to each other, giving, gets us out.

I like the message that he is sending.

Another celebrity that spreads the message of love is Carlos Santana, i follow him on FB and his statuses are always in that spirit.
