Sounds like a knitting circle would be more productive for you. Heck you want to converse with the people here but dont care much for the case. I know well how difficult this case is, but surely a thread more suited to your needs away from the case would be better for you and you could still communicate with those you consider family?

This thread predates my time on ATS but a second serving has merit. Who knows, maybe someone stumbles upon something and we hit pay dirt w.r.t. Burroughs’ VA records, etc.

Your second RFI thread gets my vote: give the people what they want!

I tried phoning Mother Mary this morning but she was out.

I saw her in my breakfast Burrito.

She was cranky that I'd almost bitten off her holy aura,
but she got out of the way in time.

My knitting skills are atrocious, trust me.

And I thank you for your psychological therapist-type concern.

Teasing aside, (I definitely tease people that I like.. I'm sure you've seen how I respond
to people that I don't respect... brrr...)

What happens with UFO topics for me, is that I find I don't agree (or care) about at least
80% of the content, but things pop up that I want to discuss.

Now these things I want to discuss tend to annoy the other posters.. and in some threads
they try to pressure me to leave (like that works) or they nicely ask me to leave
(that can work.. I like polite).. or because the majority of the posters for some god unknown
reason like me.. or have gotten used to me like some childhood wart, they tolerate me.

and in the end.. it turns out that much of what I'd been saying MIGHT have actually been
right or at least relevant.. like apparently is true of the RFI thread.

So there you go... i'm happy to explain my apparently contradictory behavior.. but there is
always a method to my madness.

I myself don't tend to start threads anymore.. as I don't want to start some motion of control
system effects that will need tending.. since my remaining coherent lifespan isn't necessarily
going to be that long..

So I like kicking it with some people that I like.

More RFI would be fine!

I find it curious that you would create a re-hash thread and then ask if we can 'let it be'... Lol

Good point.

An objective view would certainly cast us as Monsters, but could the Phenomenon act as a new religion of salvation?

Perhaps Skinwalker Ranch can serve as the new Lourdes.

I don't know about objectivity, I think we're capable of monstrousness. Totally subjective view. I also think that we are capable of great feats of kindness and benevolence...and all colours of the rainbow in between.

I don't see any need to replace the religions that we have or to do away with them or get more, they can and sometimes do, provide a vital function in society, for us to be phenomenal about it, we could return to the simple edict that lies at the heart of most philosophies, do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Love your neighbour as yourself should mean more than your human co-existees.

Perhaps it would be more constructive if Skinwalker became the new Mecca.

If there is a demand for part two then I have an opening post ready. But it depends on whether you all feel the case has reached point where it's no longer worth discussing. You all need to let me know as when the thread reaches 300 pages then it will be archived and closed.

I am pleased for Burroughs if he has found "closure" but I feel it still has legs. I'd like to see your new thread with what you've collated into your opening post, to at least be given the option.

As always, my take on things, is that there are multi faceted aspects to this phenomenon, even without inclusion of any type of nuts n bolt type experiences

I think that we can definately agree there.

Thanks Adam, I appreciate the explanation, sorry if I was getting you to repeat yourself. There's a lot of back and forth, and my own understanding is constantly changing (still hitting a loop on the Burroughs hypnosis), I wasn't entirely sure where you were at, just seeking a little more clarity.

Take care.

Wouldn't it be ironic if "the others" got glimpses of us in their reality and they thought "what the bloody hell is that?"

Particularly if the "tear" was at a Justin Bieber concert... No wonder their interactions are mostly hostile..

I concur.

I'd love to see MM spend a week putting together a master magnum opus
of summation of all 300 pages from here as a starting post of the
new thread.

The original question of the post keeps bouncing around in my head for the
years that I've been reading it... "why can't we leave it alone"?

Well to me, the reason that we can't leave it alone..

1) Not a lot of "sightings" happen over a military base, especially over multiple nights.
One night can be discarded easily enough. It's hard to discard out of hand 3 nights.
2) Reports of various kinds were made by military personnel and not rescinded a few
hours later, like with Roswell.
3) People who want to believe in physical craft might find "evidence". People who are
looking for BOL/Plasma/Condign stuff.. it's a cornucopia.. time travel.. Mind control..
black projects.. it's become a self-serve cornucopia.. and nothing can ever be proven.

RFI cannot be disproven.. because it cannot be proven....

There is a deep hunger for 'what's real' that attracts many people in UFOlogy.... and
generally most reports have so little substance that there is little point researching
them.. most are just incorrect identifiations.. purely fraudulent... or at best subjective
"experiences". There is nothing to hang onto.

At least with RFI the cumulative confusion is so massive and enduring, that RFI just
can't go away.. even if it's just like a mental scab in the mind. Not much (or any)
actual substance either.. but its an ENDURING ball of confusion and manipulation.

I guess that if you want to 'believe' in any tiny corner of UFOlogy, you need to settle
upon a primary mythology, that you go "well there COULD be something to this
incident or approach". Then all of your personal mythology & self-adoption of folklore
builds upon that.

That doesn't mean that there isn't some poorly understood laws of physics involved
somewhere.. but even so.. I suppose 95% of "UFOLogy" is just religion, even for the
most honest of researchers.

I mean, take myself as an example.. when I was young 20, I encountered a "Roswell
Grey alien" type critter that was posessing a "high adept of Theosophy". It was a dead
ringer for "Thor in Star Gate Atlantis" except a bit crinkled up and evil.. (infinite cosmic
power.. cramped living conditions inside of that guy).

Well the problem is.. Communion wasn't written until 1987, and I saw this thing in 1982.
I was not a UFO researcher.. I was a "spiritualist". Roswell didn't really become famous
until the 90's, correct? In any case, I'd never heard of a "Gray alien" in 1982 in rural
minnesota.. yet there was one... I saw another one in 2013.

Well the reason that I mention this.. is that if you have even ONE "peak experience" that
cannot be refuted or explained.. then you are "hooked" for the rest of your life.. and
it's impossible (or nearly impossible) to escape from it.

I'd say that most people "hooked" by UFOlogy have both the deep hunger to understand
what is real.. and have probably had something of an 'experience' or for some reason
fallen prey to one particular incident.. and then everything builds upon that "memetic
viral infection" like religion does... UFOlogy becomes a personal "spiritual quest" in
a manner of speaking.

Well sorry for rambling.. but the concept of 'why cant' we leave it alone' fascinates me..
maybe we can discuss more of that in a new thread.

Reminds me of my favorite episode of the TV show "Supernatural".
This archangel time travels to keep the Titanic from sinking, because he hated
Celine Dion so much that he wanted her to remain an undiscovered lounge singer.
Of course this screwed up the entire world badly.

The whole "Cargo Cult" confusion explanation for some phenomenon does tickle
my fancy.

He's an organised chap, not being, I appreciate that.

I do too.

I was teasing him. That I wanted to "put him to work".

I guess that I'm not good at teasing.. while he's great at it.. only when he's teasing
me i generally don't notice it... that British cultural reference thing flies over my
head 50% of the time.

I was mainly thinking of how we treat other species rather than our own. Actually, KT, when I recently read through your four-year-old 'Puddy Tats Go To War' thread, I was suddenly enveloped by a fluffy cloud of kindness and benevolence, plus a multitude of rainbow colours as my heart warmed and soared! A wonderful, original thread.

PS: Skinwalker as the new Mecca? Sure, so long as we don't have to pay 20 dollars for the tour.

I don't think it's exactly closure. More something that's been proffered, offered or even Hoffered.

I'd like to see your new thread with what you've collated into your opening post, to at least be given the option.

It's not going to be more than a quick 22 page recap. I might also add a video with "Let it Be" playing in the background. And that's the only clue you or anyone else is getting.
