Well, when she starts doing adult films I'm really going to start to worry.

Its not enough that she's praising drug taking and strippers. Whilst gyrating with teddies.
Even though she's probably not done either of those .

Maybe her fan base suddenly changed. When she was a Disney kid, was she loved by actual kids?.. I guess so. Or was she like Micheal Jackson and loved by all?

To be fair, there is nothing wrong with being a stripper. It is just as legitimate as being a lawyer.

Though I am not a "strip club kinda guy" personally, I try hard to not judge the more fringe ways to make a living. It isn't my place to determine how others ply their trade. Until they steal from me or do damage to me. And by damage, I am not referring to our culture.

A little secret: we are no more tawdry than we were in the 1930's. Matter of fact, maybe less so. Until the mid 90's, our "city fathers" use to enjoy frequent wife swaps that started back in the 20's and 30's. It is how debts were settled, etc. Out here in the buckle of the bible belt. Go figure.

One day I may have to tell you about the circuit prostitutes that travelled from town to town. They stopped coming through here in the early 80's. Mostly because the local Police Chief had his own brothel that he didn't want competition with.

I went on a diet and lost about 200 lbs. While I did this, my wife dealt with her own guilt, because she isn't interested in diets. The joke we have is that she has to keep her butt nice and round by eating her chocolates. She is gorgeous, for sure.

On Disney she was loved by kids. The same kids who grew into the 20somethings that buy her crap now.

The drugs that you refer to....not an issue out this way. That is something the city folks do (like from Dallas, Lubbock, etc). So I have no clue.

But I suspect we may have already gone too far down this path in this discussion. So lets just say that if her behavior is a drug inducted psychosis of some sort, I likely wouldn't be too surprised.

It may just be a little rough for parents to tell their young daughters they can no longer watch one of their role models formally known as Hannah Montana.

If's fine if a Lady Gaga or Madonna shows up to the scene because they weren't Disney star's that grew up with a generation of kids who overnight became a whore. Spear's and Aguilera were also Disney stars but no where near the level Cyrus was.

It's easy to tell their children to not listen to Lady Gaga but not so much with Miley Cyrus.

Right, because the entire world is on ATS. :: Rolls eyes :: Just do a Google search and you'll find plenty of websites speaking out against just about any pop star. I miss the 80's, granted I was barely alive during the majority of that decade, but for the most part people like Madonna (which were few and far between) weren't the norm. You had women like Cindy Lauper make catchy tunes and didn't dress up like a child and prance around on screen naked to sell her music.

It's a sign of how we're devolving as a culture. No longer do we appreciate beauty, we just want sex. No longer do we appreciate good music, again we just want sex. The so called "pop stars" are just as much to blame for it as the producers and the subsequent purchasers of that "pop stars" music.

I have little faith in our society today, and many of the replies in this thread are just cringe worthy and make me realize backwards we've become.

I think you are correct and it has to do with sexual repression of those viewing the pop stars. They want them to represent everything they cannot do. The super soft porn element of videos is meant to be art, but it fails miserably to be anything like art. Its too crude to be considered such.

And yet they call conservatives on this subject, prudes. But it couldn't be further from the truth. We just want to protect youngsters even adults, or anyone still forming an identity .

The promotion of drugs and so on. Isn't nice and we all know its just an escape from a reality others refuse to acknowledge. Rather than to sort through the issues that are effecting them in a spiritually and evolving way.

You do realize that promotion of her music is at the heart of this outrageous behavior and you fell into the trap of helping her promote it by ranting about it, right?

It's the perfect viral advertising. I'm betting she has some pretty pricey people backing her with just this kind of strategy. If you really want to rant about something far more inappropriate, you might start a thread about the use of drones by the USA.

Robin thickes wife didn't give two craps. They are in a *open relationship*, swinging, wife swapping, three somes, sex addicts.. Robin said this on the howard stern show interview he did.. They don't have a *normal* m marriage.
