Absolutely not.

I am ever present in my kids life. My wife was upset at me over the weekend, actually, because (as she says) "When you two are together you act like no one else matters" (referring to me and my youngest son, while we were at the in laws over the weekend). We spent the majority of our time on the front porch, away from all the family stuff, just hanging out. Like we do at home.

To be honest, YouTube likely has a bigger impact on his life than TV. Since he watches stuff like CutleryLover, his passions tend towards guns and knives. For CHristmas he has asked for an arc welder. Being 15, this is not really expected. But he has his passions, inspired by the things we have put into his head.

I do not let my kids eat from someone else's hand. Least of all, television.

Guns and knives, in some circles this would be seen as a bad thing, I can only say good for him.

I don't think that anyone is saying that Miley is going to influence the boys, especially the country boys.

I have discovered that this thread is amazing.

Nothing funnier than the sexually repressed getting all prudish over some hot sexy woman showing off what she's got. We get it, there is some side boob and "OH MAY GOD WHAT IS SHE DOING TO THAT CHAIN!!!" but at the end of the day she is just doing what all of the other over-paid vanity freaks of the cult gods that are celebrities do.

That isn't sex. And to assume that people who oppose this form of degradation are repressed is inaccurate.

But even as an adult, I have now made the choice not to watch any x-rated music videos. As you have stated if you don't like it, don't look.

Don't assume that she is LIBERATED or free. Or what ever nonsense they are peddling.

That isn't self-expression that's just selling some nonsense. But as you said if people want to buy this rubbish let them.

But its our duty as adults to protect those who think its " cool" . Its a fact kids do idolise their fave stars/celebrities. They buy into the nonsense.

I didn't know of her when she was a Disney star. I have no comparison to go by, I am going by what I see of her now.

And quite frankly , she is similar to other singers, but what is apparent is that shes young still.

I'm sorry to tell you that Miley is simply trying to keep up with the kids. She's not the leading influence. She's behind the times and desperately trying to regain relevance with her target audience.

Kids are so deaf to any semblance of class or pride that they don't seem any different from animals on wild kingdom. Sex is a way to get attention and be accepted because the more intelligent methods of social interaction take too much time and effort on the part of a social group that has been trained to have no self respect or integrity beyond blind acceptance and instant gratification.

I had a kid in his twenties who was working on a drilling rig with me while I was at training people to run the equipment.
This kid says to me "you want to see my girlfriend?"
I said "sure."
He shows me a VIDEO on his phone of a girl masturbating with toys. She sent it to him so his "friends" could see what he was getting. She was doing stuff only porn stars got caught doing on video when I was a kid.

I said, "That's your girlfriend?"

Why should people forget those being used? They are often left to suffer from being bullied, used and discarded and don't deserve what they endure.

For the record, the news comes to us via media. News papers and so on love to put this stuff on the front pages. Its difficult not to see.

Its not as if we are seeking out teeny boppers jumping to tunes on heat.

Fans listen to the same songs over and over and its embedded into their consciousness. Along with the images projected.

Take for example a pop stars song lyrics" You are going to hear me roar , I got the eye of the tiger" etc
