Please do tell- as someone else on this thread has also pointed out- ,, how could I describe the spirit of a person that I have never seen when she was alive, and have my neighbor validate my description and name the soul, (Martha) and tell me that others have seen this spirit too?

PS: What does being educated have to do with it? I hold two degrees, one of them I already mentioned. But I have also met many people in my life, who were older and much more wiser without ever getting a college or university degree.

I could also say the same about you. You need to do some extended research into the paranormal/spiritual before you can call any of us "uneducated".

The problem with your belief that there is no afterlife, is there have been many documented cases of NDE's.

That does not prove anything other than the brain has stuff going on inside between undead neurons and the chemical called ***.

Even ancient scripts and the bible speak of an after life. Considering that alone, gives more credence of a possible after life.

Words from superstitious bronze age men that again proves nothing, people just want to believe they are eternal. People back then also thought the sun was a god and natural disasters was punishment for...something?

Yet again, we don't have physical proof just like you don't have any proof that there is no afterlife.

That's why it drives me nuts when people claim they KNOW this stuff.

Science has been proven wrong many times. Just for that reason alone, I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket.

So has the bible.
And I don't think the words in the bible are the words of a god.

You are dead wrong ... as I said there is a scientific explanation for everything you have said so far ... NDE's have been disproved already by being recreated in a live patient

Even astronauts when they are training the in centrifuge have NDE's with exact same descriptions as people who have died and they are clearly not dead ... it is the release of Dimethyltryptamine in the brain thats causes these NDE's ... it has been demonstrated many time in live patients ... how are people not understanding basic science ????

How do people just disregard proven science for random ideas that make them feel better about their life .. it boggles the mind to see people pushing science to the side for silly beliefs that serve no evolutionary purpose anymore.

No wonder the world is going to # ... when you plain explain something to some one and they say nope my idea is right .... thats much worse then being a sheeple ... much much worse because you are going out of your way to be deliberately ignorant.

Um ....no. Near Death Experiences have been recreated but that doesn't disprove what happens in Near Death Experiences. It only means that they can be artificially recreated. That in no way disproves Near Death Experiences.

Because what you cite is is hypothesis development testing - it is only the first step in the Scientific Method. It only suggests that the hypothesis should be considered for evaluation, among others. This is not falsification testing, nor does it take into account all the observation base.

The science is FAR from being undertaken. It wallows in an artificial stigma of prejudice. Other hypothesis ALSO have successful hypotheses development data. Do we declare them as proven too?

You guys need to read scientific articles not just go to a random website and read some guys testimonial of utter crap.

So, if some day a person that has been completely dead for a couple hours was brought back thanks to science, and said they experienced nothing.

Would you say;
-They were in purgatory?
-They haven't been judged yet?
-Still waiting for available angel wings and a harp?
-Got lost?
-Bad person?
-requires 3 hours?
-Body is not cold yet?

How far can denial go?

An afterlife would be nice, but if not it don't matter, cause I'll be dead and won't care.

I'm agnostic, wouls like to believe in something, but its hard. However I don't see why its so difficult to consider a continuance.. especially wen you consider that we couls live in a virtual realitt of sorts right now. What would be so different? No. When we die our life ends, that's it. Just like before we were born, nothing and after we die it'll be the same. Oh what can happen if I do share it, it's a short story.

This happened when I was 14. My dog ( a doberman called Soldier, which I didn't name, I can assure you, it was my dad, lol) died at the age of 4 of a heart attack. Since he was a puppy he always used to sleep on my bed, near my feet, and keep me warm.
The day he died , I was very sad, and cried a lot. That very night he came back in spirit to lay down on my bed, near my feet. I could feel his warmth and though I couldn't see him, I heard him bark one last time, then I felt him get off the bed and disappear. I know he came to see me one last time and say good-bye.

Now you can all have at it! lol

I told you to read the article and its references ... that would take you about 4-5 hours ... not pick a quoted line from a known drug tester and run with it ... thats what a stupid person does ... terrence mekenna was a where Dr. Rick started because he had the most experience with dimethyltryptamine outside of the scientific community ... how do you not understand that. A real scientist looks at both sides of an argument and makes an informed and tested decision ... you have looked at 1 side and decided already ... that is the definition of stupid ... seriously
