This is of great interest to me too. We must ask: with such a shift in perspective, what in us actually changes? So far the only difference I can see is the literature we subscribe to.

It is so sad, is everyone wrong? The witness of 2000 years about the truth of who God is and of Our Lord, Second person of the Blessed Trinity came down to be one of us, to save humanity.
You have millions of testimonies. All those people are nuts, they're liars? What of famous scientists who have great faith, they're liars, wrong but right on their inventions and help to humanity?
How about the testimony of people who have died and come back, there's some modern proof.
How can you go on another hour without God? Praaaaaayyy! Begin today, speak to God from your heart, you have started a daily prayer life, even 5 minutes a day. God loves you more than any human person on this earth.

....A proud university student boarded a train in France and sat next to an older man who seemed to be a peasant of comfortable means. The brash student noticed that the older gentleman was slipping beads through his fingers. He was praying the rosary.
"Sir, do you still believe in such outdated things?" the student inquired.
"Yes, I do. Don't you?" the man responded. The student laughed and admitted, "I do not believe in such silly things. Take my advice. Throw the rosary out the window and learn what science has to say about it."
"Science? I do not understand this science. Perhaps you can explain it to me," the man said humbly, tears welling in his eyes.
The university student noticed that the man was deeply moved. To avoid hurting the older person's feelings, he said, "Please give me your address and I will send you some literature to explain the matter to you."
The man fumbled in the inside pocket of his coat and pulled out his business card. On reading the card, the student lowered his head in shame and was speechless. The card read: "Louis Pasteur, Director of the Institute of Scientific Research, Paris." The student had encountered his country's leading chemist and the man who would give the world the scientific process that would bear his name--pasturization.

Stimulating as always, LesMis! Good to see you've rejoined the discussion.
What in us actually changes? How we approach understanding, how we approach life, and how we approach ourselves. Understanding becomes based on investigation rather than faith, life becomes a process of trial and error that teaches comprehensive appreciation (amongst other things), and we ourselves become something less than a...machine. As I see it, the current religious ideals are aimed at mechanizing our society. We become more machine than human. Shiny, smooth, and invulnerable.

Why is God a Him? long before the Gods were made male people worshipped female gods, then man destroyed them to make a more war like god like we see today. Because with war like gods you can scare others easier and make up a place called Hell where all the naughty children go.

Colbe, you ask if everyone is wrong. Well, are YOU stating that two billion Muslims are wrong? Can ya see how numbers don't prove a damn thing except that more people are willing to be sheep instead of free-logical-thinkers.
How about the testimony of people who have died and come back, there's some modern proof.
Do ya think some muslims have died and experienced their version of heaven and came back? Do ya think some atheists have died and experienced nothing and came back?
The card read: "Louis Pasteur, Director of the Institute of Scientific Research, Paris.
This only proves that past men that were endowed with higher critical thinking were not immune to the brainwashing of religion.
Well we proved that your Saint Pio was a fraud, and we're still waiting for one amputee to have his lost limb miraculously restored.

jigger, You misstate, the "everyone" if you read further are Christians, Catholics in particular.
If you check the posts that my responses are linked to you will see exactly what I am responding to.
And enough people believe otherwise to make a difference.
On Islam, do you read/hear the news? The horror going on in their countries and countries they are trying to overrun. There is no good come from Islam, it is from Satan. Oh how the deceived less than radical Muslims will convert, rejoice at the time of the "illumination of conscience." God's divine gift to the world.
jigger, Would you reply concerning Louis Pasteur praying the rosary? Do you know, ANYONE can pray the rosary, you do not have to be Catholic. You mainly repeat 3 prayers as you contemplate Our Lord's life. Mary was there less two major happenings in Jesus' life. You can pray the rosary when you walk or drive. It is Mary's prayer, the Blessed Trinity has given her all graces to dispense. There is much grace given with the rosary. Why don't you start praying it each day, start with a decade instead of the 5. love, colbe
