How the Boston PD seem to have made a hash of out this.

Surely the USA has some special Anti Terrorist sqaud that trained in matters like this?

Technically the military is not allowed to become involved in this type of stuff on American soil. Unless marshal law is declared.

Thats abit dumb as instances like this need the best of the best sent in.

1878 Posse Comitatus Act is the reason I have always been told they can't

I was thinking about this earlier, and that the NG or military might be called it. I know Posse Comitatus prohibts it, but didnt something in the ndaa that was passed last year give them the rights if a terrorist action has occurred, and declared US a battlefield? I know if there was a chance for military to be used in this they would do so cautiously so as not to really frighten the people and stir up the conspiracy boards.

The guy on the ground is an older gentleman, 60-70 was the estimate from one officer. But they dont have details on him yet, except that its NOT the brother.

One person said the old guy was unrelated to suspect.

I'm thinking it was just some hobo/tramp tthey found under a bush hat was sleeping off last nights booze!

Even so. With this much officers, you can storm a medium sized town and subjugate everyone in it.

9,000 would be local and state police, national guard members, and FBI. That would be inclusive of the active searchers and their support personnel. And I'm rather happy there are that many.

Yeah. I think I would know if my plumber was going to be working in my basement.

Exactly, you usually have to let them in.

Very odd I say!

Isn't that exactly why the reporter would LIKE to be there?

I've heard on the news that 9.000 people (between police officers, federals, etc.) are after this guy. Is that true? Because, if it is, how can a guy escapes from all this people without being noticed?

Right!!

How is he escaping past all this activity with this much going on??

Chaos.
Sometimes it is easier to escape in situations like this.

I'm taking it with a grain of salt. It's likely he was just talking about what we know, assuming the media person didn't listen to scanners. I'd bet most officers are assuming a majority of the people watching don't know about the IED/Dead mans switch (which is likely true).

Well we do have the FBI Hostage Rescue Team, they train with the SAS (who are some of the worlds best).
