And I also remember the 70's under the previous Labour govt...what a mess, the three day weeks,
It was Ted Heath (Conservative) that introduced the 3 day week.
CNN has drawn unwanted attention on the internet after broadcasting a picture of Margaret Thatcher with Jimmy Savile.
Thatcher, the former Prime Minister, passed away aged 87 this morning after a stroke. However, the US news channel has run a photo of her with the disgraced DJ and TV presenter.
The image was caught and posted on Twitter by The Wall Street Journal's Neal Mann.
"Oh dear, someone at CNN obviously didn't get the memo," he tweeted.

Although within you may be happy at someone's death, to come on a public forum and post such comments and links is disrespectful to those that may have been close to her and that are completely innocent. This is a public forum, YouTube is a public viewing platform, I would not want my feelings of happiness at someone's death to hurt an innocent party/family member in grieving, no matter how remote the chance. Is this not just common decency?
I guess some people are completely different, I wouldn't have the front to celebrate a persons death in public, even if it were my worse enemy... it's not heroic by any stretch.

She totally put an end to the great city of Liverpool.
Some people seem to forgive the wrong doings of their ex leaders.
I'll never forgive that woman for what she done to the working class of my country !

Thatcher's daughter Carol was a journalist when her mother was in power who was outspoken against her policies at the time. Her twin brother Mark was prone to living off his mother's name and attempting to take over the odd country against it's will.
Carol would understand the outcry - and who cares what Mark thinks?edit on 8-4-2013 by christina-66 because: (no reason given)

This my be harsh... but
Good riddance. Ding dong the witch is dead.
My father will be most pleased, he hated the woman with a passion. I didnt live in England, but my father is British and I grew up at the time she was in power so I got to see on the news, satire and through the papers just what harm she did to that country and its people.
Yes its not good karma to be happy about a persons death, but in this world there are a small select few who DO in fact deserve such disrespect, and she was one of them.
Sorry if that offends.
edit:- That being said however, I will say im sorry for her children (if any) and her husband (is he still alive?), after all while she was a vile politician, she was part of a family.edit on 8-4-2013 by BigfootNZ because: (no reason given)
I don't usually feel good when another person dies.... I'll make an exception just this once. I think I'll buy myself some take out on the way home as a little treat for the occasion.
yeah its still there but i,m guessin hes talking about she destroyed alot of liverpools history and jobs like she did for most places in britain.....alot of jobs and history were destroyed when she was in power and denying that is actually a bit of a slur on the millions of people who tried to fight to save the only thing they had.

She put an end to Liverpool...really??? Liverpool is still there as far as I'm aware...
Perhaps stop living in the past...Thatcher has not been in power for a long time, the last Government (Labour was in power from 1997 to 2010 so what have they done for Liverpool?
The papers also contain a letter to the now-disgraced DJ Jimmy Savile, a regular visitor at the PM’s private country house Chequers.
In a reply to a letter from him, dated April 20 and which does not survive, she writes: “Very many thanks for your letter.
"It was most encouraging to hear from you at this difficult time. PS Best wishes to all kind friends at Stoke Mandeville”.
