Can you show where it says that in the text? They were deaconesses. The same Greek word is used for them as for deacons. You are a misogynist if you believe you cannot have your iron sharpened by a woman or be taught something from scripture by them.

Quick question, I'm just curious because I don't know much about you or your religious status...are you Jewish by ethnicity (were you born into the Jewish ethnoreligious group), are you Jewish by conversion (are you a "Gentile" practicing some form of Judaism), or do you just have the word Jew in your screen name for some personal reason?

I am a Jew by faith in Jesus Christ.

Your view of deaconess would mean that Paul contradicted his other teaching.

No he didn't. His other teaching was that a woman should not have authority in the church over her husband.

So you're a Messianic Jew? I take it that...when you say by faith, you mean by conversion? I'm sorry, I didn't quite understand if you meant by birth or conversion, your answer was a bit vague in relation to my question.

Hasn't got a clue about Judaism or speak Hebrew. Every practising Jew learns enough Hebrew as a minimum for his/her bar/bat mitzvah.

Those who reject Jesus Christ are not really Jewish.

If she has that authority in the church, she would have authority over her husband and every other husband.

Are you telling me the Jews, Jesus' brothers and sisters are condemned to hell ?
By definition Jesus as a Jew would be as well. I have no recollection of Jesus accepting himself as a messiah
But rather allowing others to make that assumption
Before you give the whole forgive them father bit don't forget you could make the same speech if you truly believe to be follower of Jesus

O really?
So before Saul became Paul he was a gentile from the tribe of Benjamin?

The only thing that he has in common with the Jews is a fondness for salvation by the Law and works.

In other words, prior to about five or ten years ago, the population of heaven was one (Jesus), and it's not likely to ever rise much above that. Jesus must really like playing Solitaire, lol.

I'm a Bama fan too! And Colts, in fact I can see Lucas Oil Stadium from the sidewalk in front of my house. And we call Cutler "Santa Claus" because that's where he is from. Santa Claus, Indiana.
