The ONLY thing you need to remember, have trust in, have blind faith in is that "God has this under control" and all else is folly and vexation of spirit.

Nuff said.

I have to ask this. Do you believe in the concept of free will? God did not want mindless automatons right? Now God has alot of things to do and he Usually handles the spiritual side of things. Its one reason he gave us free will. Humanity has a obligation to plan for tomrrow BUT to live as if the end is coming right now. So you would have us all sit at home doing nothing? God helps those who help themselves my friend. You speak of free will as folly? And the nuff said line only works if you are Wolverine or stan lee.

Implying that that the USA will lose a war with North Korea implies that there will be a war in the first place. While history tends to repeat itself, in some regards a war with North Korea will not happen on the present global stage. Other state actors like Fidel Castro have urged both parties to calm down because our society is so global and because the potential domino effect of a war with North Korea would not only hurt "Capitalism" but countless individuals with human faces.

Perhaps that is why the US is diligently trying to avoid misunderstandings with North Korea.

Man he thinks highly of his thread....historic? Maybe you're right but I don't know. I do think NK is full of bat dung but I think the little guy with the goofy haircut has backed himself into a corner and will have to do something to save face.

well, if NK thinks that moving ONE missile to their east coast, which MIGHT be able to reach guam, is a serious threat, then I don't think NK has any idea of the capability of the US. what every serious person is afraid of is a ground attack on south korea... that could get ugly real fast. ground attack rockets are very easy to build, deploy, and they are affective in populated areas.

For the "outsiders" it would be interesting what americans think that makes their country great. I would appreciate if you could explain it.

As I am a foreigner to you I will only see relativly aggressive foreign affairs. It nearly seems like if I am a foreign country and I don't agree with things US want to get, the US will park some heavy aircraft carriers right in front of my door to "convince" me better make the deal happen. Here we call it "russian collection"

The second thing is, if I look to big cities in your country and in the streets there are "children" fighting to each other with guns to death, I will say the US has a very serious problem. It's not said in my country we don't have any crime, but here we don't have gangs heavily armed killing everyone who is saying a wrong word.

I know with this statements I will be bashed now (" you f...ing US hater" and so on) but as a free person I can have my own opinions. Please don't misunderstand me, I am not a US hater, but in fact and I am only talking for myself, the USA is not heaven and will never be.

I truthfully think that ~USA will lose! (you will win the battle (with NK) but not the war)

Why?
Say just like USA did in Afghanistan, USA has a LONG war. Bombing after bombing at a high cost, God knows how many millions of dollars worth of bombs. Then boots are on ground, which is possible if.
USA would lose because the cost of the war will have a massive effect on your economy and push you further into debt and recession that your already in.
(China probably will loan you more money, or they might just watch you crash and burn)

I honestly don't think USA will go ahead with a war with NK

Why?
USA could of gone ahead with troops on the ground in Libya but opted out because of the cost implications that would put them further into debt and make a unstable US economy making the people suffer more. So they paid for it to be done!
They're better off doing propaganda, thats what they are good at (CIA, Mossad) and paying less dollars to do the job.

So in a nut shell, US government is stupid but not that stupid!

Americans, you need to wake up and smell the coffee what your government is doing to you or is gonna do to you. WAKE UP!

I wouldn't term you an America Hater by this last post at all. I haven't looked at your profile to see past msgs, but you strike me as well reasoned and thoughtful in your approach, anyway.

It's hard to describe what makes America truly great in the eyes of Americans and largely, in the view of history as well. It's hard, because anyone currently in their 20s (which forms a GOOD % of the people active and carrying meaningful opinions right now) haven't even SEEN America outside of it's current war state. This America? Well.. It's one I don't much care for myself. How, then, can I say why I think America is great?

Perhaps I can show you just a little with a video I found a good time back.

It's worth the play and there isn't anything corny or political in it. No National Anthems playing or Naval parades of Warships and militant messages to generate nationalism. It's just a view of this Great Nation as it actually exists outside the corrupt halls of power in Washington and most, if not all, State Houses.

America isn't the Government and America isn't Politics. America IS 300 Million, generally good and warm hearted people who are doing their best to make it from one week into the next and raise their children. Just like everyone else in the world, I imagine. 5 years or 13 years of bad leadership, does not undo well over 200 years of citizens working toward the same general goal.

America is great for other reasons often overlooked and too quickly forgotten ...like the fact any major natural disaster on Earth is as likely to see American flagged assistance in large quantity and flowing quickly as any UN or local efforts. It's consistent for that, time and time again, over decades of real world examples.

So.......... I'd hope people, such as yourself, consider us for more than the scumbags and losers who sit in elected offices and make the BAD decisions. They are among a few thousand individual men and women ....among over 1/4 Billion people who largely didn't want or ask for their "leadership", either.

Wow....Tell that to the families of 441 brave souls who died in Afghanistan.

www.bbc.co.uk...

This isn't a willy swinging contest but for you to just dismiss all those people when they FOUGHT..also the USA is part of the ISAF...so are 42 countries. So you just make it up that your forces are the only ones with combat experience...pfft.
Shame on you.
Oh and who even mentioned the UK going to war with the USA?

I think in part this thread is right, in the sense that America is going directly in course of collision to a major conflict with North Korea, however, there are aspects in which I disagree, and I use to be very intuititively correct in my predictions.

I do not see Russia interested at all into enter in conflict with America, although possibly they will assume an extreme neutral position that some sectors in America will find shocking, but for Russia is certainly worrying to have a new Nuclear power in their borders, in a region in which they do not have really enough military presence to assure their own sovereignity.

If North Korea defeat USA in the far east is almost sure that their next step might be to invade Japan or the Russian Far east. In the case of Japan they know by sure they will find a terrible resistance due to the high population density but in the case of Russia far east they do not have to deal with that problem, and they consider for instance all the coast in between Vladivostok and the Amur river as their former territory.

Now, let me say that would not put my hands in the fire to say that China will do so, to the contrary Bejing could perfectly use this war to take advantage of it in to impose their absolute leadership in the world. My impression is that China will leave N Korea to do the dirty job into put USA definitively out of the road.

However, it is right to think that North Korea is not manacing in the way it is now doing being alone, actually it has allies in his potential fight against America, but those allies, instead of the ones you mention, are the Islamic Republic Iran, Syria, Cuba, the Bolivarian Repubiic of Venezuela, surprisingly some of the new revolutionalry goverments of North Africa, that USA helped politically by sad mistake, the Talibans of Afghanistan and also surprisingly certain political sectors of the supossedly reliable shiit factions of Pakistan and Iraq!.

I feel sincerely that who authored this thread possibly has a good intention into prevent what is coming, but read too much novels of science fiction of the ones are by dozens in bargain in the section of the cold war trillers of any book store in NYC or some other big American metropolis.

Pls read my thread on this same topic:

Thank you. Nice to see that there are people who can take criticism.

Perhaps I can show you just a little with a video I found a good time back.

It's truly great. Outside Politics I love the vast and breathtaking landscapes. I think this is truly unique and I hope sometimes I can visit some places for myself

America isn't the Government and America isn't Politics. America IS 300 Million, generally good and warm hearted people who are doing their best to make it from one week into the next and raise their children.

I believe so, so I am not generalizing. It would be great if this message would be promoted outside your country. Bad politics, war and crime are often the only messages heard from the US itself or distributed by mainstream media.

America is great for other reasons often overlooked and too quickly forgotten ...like the fact any major natural disaster on Earth is as likely to see American flagged assistance in large quantity and flowing quickly as any UN or local efforts. It's consistent for that, time and time again, over decades of real world examples.

That's true but as well not prometed in the media. As the World is expecting that from a country which wants to lead the whole planet, I'm glad to see the US will do more as it is asked to do.

So.......... I'd hope people, such as yourself, consider us for more than the scumbags and losers who sit in elected offices and make the BAD decisions. That's one reason why I created an account here on ATS. To learn something about american people, what they think and what they feel on very speicific topics like politics, aliens, and so on.

Perhaps you know it, but the reputation of the US around the world is not the best. But for me it's very important to get information first hand and experience it on my own even it can be hard because of the language barrier. But I will also doing my best and many dictionaries are my best friends now. ;-)

I'm glad I may have helped a little with showing a different perspective, at least. I know our press image and overall public face in the world is ...mixed...at best. Downright horrible in many cases.

I'd only want to add that among a few different reasons, we share a big one for why ATS is the place to spend some real time at. Just as you seek to learn more about America in this case? I can't get enough of the direct, first personal perspectives and background from people living in other nations. That international aspect of this site makes it invaluable for learning. It needs a disclaimer about using one's own best judgement of course, as well as grains of salt with what we all read, naturally. However? I'll tell ya. I've learned more here in the time I've been a member than I've picked up over most of a lifetime in reading books and watching things like History and Discovery for documentaries.

I read through the T&C again and did not see anything specific relating to discussion of banned members. I oftentimes see that a member was banned and wonder why (if, for no other reason than to assure myself that I won't inadvertently do something similar and get myself banned).

One part of the T&C does address the existing posts of a banned member:

15m.) Termination: In the event your account or access privileges are terminated for any reason, your information and Posts will not be removed unless there is a violation of the Terms and Conditions of Use and the Terms and Conditions of Membership. ...

That explains why this thread is still here even if the OP isn't.

Yes, I read through them again, and I didn't see anything specific either.

But I do remember being admonished by a mod once (quite some time ago) for discussing a banned member. So, I guess they get a little touchy about it.

Last i checked MOSSAD was not interested in N korea so why mention them? Bias maybe? And there was no real reason to but boots on th eground in libya. why do that when its less costly to give weapons to others and get the same result? It dont matter the result is the same. Also TPTB will not give up their power and if must be will call the debts they owe NULLIFIED to protect the entire system from collapse. Still its a last resort because starting your credit back at zero is never good. Also what you think and what will happen are two very different things. America knows they have a crappy government we do not need another person to point it out.
