No. It's far too damaging to the US.

Why do they want a reason to bomb NK? North Korea has nothing other than trouble. Everything about NK is downside, no upside.

I have posted quite a bit about what I know regarding North Korea's military potential, and I have commented on NK launching ballistic missiles towards the US. However, the truth is that NK probably does not even have the capability to launch any sort of strike against the mainland US. They have not even proven they can successfully mount a nuclear warhead on a long range missile and have it reach a target many hundreds or a thousand miles away. A thousand miles is about the range of their missiles.

if anyone seriously believes the bankers need a new war hype they should get their head checked.

Not only is NK incapable of such a "devastating attack" they couldn't escape our full nuclear counter strike and lack of outrage due to loss of communications aka news by the American people to stop it even if they were.

are all US military bases EMP secured?

scary times.

Put all your IMPORTANT electronics in the microwave, and they will be protected from a EMP.
My list is:
1) 2-way radios
2) mini laptop
3) camera
4) medical electronic devices
5) iPhone and iPad

6) etc.

This post seems like fear mongering to me. NK is a dog that barks a lot. If it attempts to bite, NK will be over in about 15 minutes.

All the US needs is one B2 and one F-22.

The entire NK story doesn't make much sense to me.

Given the military and technological supremacy of the US, I don't get why NK is displaying this kind of provocative behavior and flashing around nuclear weapons.

I guess the real questions are:

  • Why now?
  • Were do they get the funds from to develop this sort of weaponry?
  • Where do they get the knowledge from to develop this sort of weaponry?
  • Why doesn't China take a more aggressive stand since it's a major trading partner of the US?

I think that there are a lot of unknowns. What is even stranger is that, according to some sources, there were secret US flights to NK not so long ago.

Secret Flights

The concern is so great that U.S. officials who watch North Korea closely are continually monitoring the status of the North Korean “space launch vehicle,” whose status could suggest a pre-emptive nuclear strike against the United States.

They are aware of the three-stage missile North Korea launched last December that also orbited a “package,” which experts say could be a test to orbit a nuclear weapon that then would be deorbited on command anywhere over the U.S. and exploded at a high altitude, creating an EMP effect. …

Ya know.. I have to say it. That's AWESOME.

I mean.. in movies and TV we only see nuclear missile strikes originating from the ground silos and starting a mutual exchange of missile vollies. Think the movie War Games. But it's something different to think they don't need to do that at all.. there could be a hostile nuke over our heads right now at this moment and we would never know it.

Makes me want to see that orbit and track it myself.. find out which times of day this thing is over our heads so we can be better prepared.

Also makes me wonder how many nukes up there belong to the USA.

Found some good stuff on this satellite.

There are pictures of it here: allthingsnuclear.org...

It's 2.5 ft square and 3.5 ft tall, said to weigh about 220 pounds (100 kg). They first tried to launch in April but that launch failed due to technical problems. ( way too small to be a bomb of any strength)

This thing doesn't have maneuvering thrusters and is reportedly tumbling in space. As of now the North Koreans can't get a signal through to it to deploy what ever functions this thing is capable of. (unless that has changed and I can't find the info)

So if this thing is broken, it could be orbiting the planet for years as a piece of junk. However

But the United States, Japan, Britain and others see it as a provocation and violation of U.N. Security Council resolutions banning North Korea from developing its nuclear and missile programs. The Security Council has said it would urgently consider "an appropriate response."

"This launch is about a weapons program, not peaceful use of space," U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland said. Even the North's most important ally, China, expressed regret.
www.foxnews.com...

So.. this begs the question. if it's in a stable orbit as everyone says.. and it's tumbling, unable to get radio control signals to it, and it's tiny for a bomb - why is the U.S government so keen on tracking it? Seems there is a lot of info we are missing about this venture.

You probably can. Here might be something: n2yo.com...

Whether or not NK even has the capability to control the satellite anymore, so that they could get it down from there or detonate it, I doubt it.

USA isn't supposed to have nukes up there, nobody is supposed to have nukes up there, but I remember NASA launching a satellite up without disclosing its contents just last year, so they may well have some weapons up there.

Where did you get the idea that US government is keen on tracking it? Pretty sure NASA would be tracking every satellite, and haven't heard that this one would be getting any extra attention.

You know, I'm not so worried about NK, but about the USA trying to cover it's butt with a financial collapse coming.

Our gov't is our own worst enemy - most of us with some intelligence can see this.

To get a good EMP, especially to get that North America-wide coverage in the OP graphic, you can't use a pissy little 6kT first-timer nuke.

Weapons designed to cause EMPs are 'tuned' to create gamma and x-rays, and are invariably thermonukes. NK hasn't gotten a decent yield yet. They might be able to do a water burst in the bay of a large city and cause a bunch of trouble, but I wouldn't be too worried about NK wiping out the US with one shot this decade.

The satellite is space junk. They lost control of it.

Besides, if they did detonate it at the altitude it is at, it would irradiate the crew of the ISS, creating an international incident. It would not just give them a dose of radiation, it would instantly kill the whole crew.

That, since there are United States citizens on board, would be considered an act of Terrorism.

NK's defunct sat won't fire. Thankfully. The US would have clear reason to invade NK.

Coincidence that we are running drills in SK right now?

What would NK possibly gain by doing this?

The US would still maintain its second strike capability and NK would be hit. Even if their leaders survived our attack we would quickly follow it up with an invasion to remove them from power.

Basically the only thing this would do is inconvienence the US for awhile and cost the NK leadership their jobs.

I doubt they would even consider it.

I just had this random thought if Nk does detonate this emp it would give China a chance to invade the U.S. I mean we do owe China money so it would be a great opportunity for them to set up shop and work us in their little sweat factories since our dollar has "collapse".

I'm not saying it would happen
but it could
I mean again it was just something wild running around my head.

I know dhs will be on alert here when shtf if not now and iif this does become the next false flag event the u.s. (not saying but), this could merge the one world government and then they'll be screaming "peace and security".

But that's just fictional thinking right?

Oh sure they do, it's real easy.

What do you suppose we have on board our military shuttle? Pez?

It's just not as doomsday as it's made out to be... the lights go out....I loose you tube... our trains will run, transformers will be fixed etc, etc .... then we have every valid pretext to turn NK to glass

Don't get me wrong... a world of lame... but no one dies unless we act like fools... heat stroke in summer with no ac...whatever, we have no actual shortage of food and water... what else is there that matters in the scheme of things?

If an EMP hit America like they are describing it could take years to undo the damage. I don't think you really understand just how devastating a EMP attack can be.

Most people don't.

People think the US is immune to attack within it's own borders. And they don't realize how many things use electricity.

"It's cool, officials will keep us all calm and tell us to stay indoors."

With what, their mechanically-powered emergency system?

"Everyone will just stay inside and eat dried food and drink coolaid."

Until it runs out within a week or so and we can't restock because there is a lack of mass transportation. Not to mention half of it will go bad because, you know, no refrigeration.

"Everyone will be fine. This doesn't cause health hazards."

No electricity for years, months, or even just weeks means no hospitals and a distinct lack of emergency supplies and medicine. Not to mention seeking out what is left will become incredibly difficult.

"North Korea has no reason to do this."

The Korean War never ended. A temporary cease-fire was declare, and that's it. US citizens may be content to think that the war is over, but NK military officials have NOT forgotten this. They blame the US for quite a lot of their strife, actually. They need as much reason to attack us as religious nutters in the US need to attack gay marriage.

Wake up, people! An attack may actually happen one day. And if it does, you won't have the option of living in candyland anymore.
