Dumb and Dumber accurately describes the two writers.
If you sat down and tried your very hardest to dream up ways of utterly destroying the entire story, it would be difficult to mess it up more than these two clowns have.

What a joke.

The most ridiculous of plot developments was Varys, the master spy, running around telling everyone he was traitor.

Utterly ridiculous.

Basically the writers set about to totally reverse the characters, for what reasons who knows.

Jon - gets turned into a lame ass good for nothing wimp
Cersei - gets turned into a crying mess
Dany - an evil monster
Varys - a comedy spy (Johnny English)
Tyrion - an niave idiot
The Mountain - er, some kind of Darth Vader wannabe
The Hound - all of a sudden not afraid of fire, lol.
Greyworm - a blood thirsty murderer
Arya - a scared little girl again - with a quick scene for her to just all of a sudden get over her revenge
The Golden Company - lol
Sansa - now an utter b*tch.

At least Euron continued in the vain of a bad pantomime comdey villain.
...and Jamie's death - of the old blocked exit gig. Yippee, what originality

Bronn wandered off, Gendry wasn;t to be seen anywhere - perhaps being set up as the new King after Jon (or some othe Stark) kills Dany and then Jon blubs his way to death or runs off up north.

All that is left now is for Robin Arynn to come riding in as the new worlds best warrior and all round dude.

I suspect the writers purposely set out to ruin the entire franchise for everyone - who knows why.
From one of the best to THE worst series in history.
Conan the Barbarian had better acting and plotlines than the last 2 seasons.

Urghh.

I am still trying to figure out who Varys was writing that letter too.

The only people that were left unscathed was the Dornish.

IDK probably end up being a plot hole.

Plot hole.
He burned the letter anyway.
It's not worth thinking about - the entire thing is a complete mess.

And to think.

Had Danerys burned Kingslanding to the ground like she wanted to in the beginning.

Her crew would still be alive.

Yup - and they had only one of those scorpion things too.
Apparently they weren't that useful after all. Hundreds of them couldn't get any shots off.

Oh I forgot the Ayra sequence in the show ... blwn up... no I'm ok, blown up again, ... er, actually I am alive....engulfed in flames.. no really, I'm ok... reminded me of this... could have seemlessly been cut into the last episode and it would have fit perfectly.

They were in the episode before the last one.

I guess will chalk that up to bad writing.

Dug up the dev notes... Explains things...

Developer Notes: Game of Thrones V. 8.05

1) In game ENB / lighting overhaul. Previous update resulted in complaints of low light during action and combat sequences. Lighting values have been fully tweaked to now include raytracing and higher gamma values.

2) AI adjustment. Players have long complained of character AI being too unpredictable and difficult to counter. Previous adjustments to AI – the nerfing of AI module Tyrion and full removal of AI module Balish – failed to resolve issue. Therefore in this patch we’ve also removed AI module Varys and substantially nerfed AI modules Cersie, Daenerys and Snow.

3) Players complained that Scorpions were way too OP – so massive nerf for Scorpions.

4) Players requested more of a power fantasy after recent patches so Dragon has been substantially buffed.

5) Raid “King’s Landing” has long been overly challenging for solo and small group players so in addition to the previously mentioned nerf to raid boss Cersie and the buff to asset Dragon – a new raid condition has been added that will allow raid completion to occur through multiple means. Defeating sub boss Mountain will now open a chance of rolling “incest weakness” against the raid boss which can allow for a passive victory.

6) Killing child NPC’s is fully allowable. We ain’t Skyrim ya know.

7) Changes to existing lore will be covered in the Wiki and will be addressed in future installments.

8) Fixed a bug that prevented Dothraki units from respawning after death.

9) We are exploring a bug that causes NPC's Grey Worm and Daenerys to glitch if NPC Missandie dies.

10) Removed equipable item "plot armor" from game as it effected end game balancing.

Thanks.

The Dev Team and D&D ( Your friendly neighborhood “Game of wha? Bro we gots STAR WARS” guys ).

There is no source, I made this up using my confusion and bitterness

This had serious shades of Revenge of The Sith in it. With Anakin falling to the dark side. The good guy who had shown some dark side tendencies, gives into his darker nature. They both had an emotional breakdown, they both killed younglings which was totally unnecessary for both parties, and the desire to secure power at any and all costs.

What I want in S8E6, is that same discussion between Dany and Jon, that Obi-Wan and Anakin/Darth Vader had.

Jon has the high ground on this one.....

You were the Queen! You said that you would liberate the realm, not burn it. Bring peace to Westros, not leave it in ashes! You were my Queen Dany! I loved you!

Masny moons ago I watched a interview sort of clips thinigi9e with the showrunner duo, they were speaking in some sort of terms about what GOT has to offer that other shows didnt, the part I remember clearly was "oh, anxd we have dragons. We've got dagons!!".

Then last night happened.

Apparently they've been longing to show in maximum glory dragons laying waste to masses of people and their silly structures. All this time they waited. They never thought they'd even get permission. It was some childhood fantasy. Then on a whim they said screw it, we're just gonna do it. So they blackmailed certain people to get it done. And on screen to make it work all they had to do was flip the script on the bulk of the main characters, as you so well pointed out there.

I'm sarting to wonder if you've paid attention to the previous foreshadowing. What did Bran see in his vision of King's Landing?
