Lessee what happens with the Falklands.
This will have absolutely no impact whatsoever on The Falklands - The Roman Catholic Church has far bigger issues to address.

What does that mean, exactly?

This pope has a good vibe to me.
That last dude gave me the creeps!!
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury,pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life. Amen

He said they went to the "end of the world to find a new Pope".
He didn't say, "the end of the world".edit on 13-3-2013 by FollowTheWhiteRabbit because: (no reason given)edit on 13-3-2013 by FollowTheWhiteRabbit because: (no reason given)
It's not what I understood but even if it's as you say, it's still odd that he said the words "end of the world" in his introduction.

This feels good, at least. A humble man, honoring St Francis. I'm on my phone but it would be awesome if someone could post the prayer of St. Francis. It holds beauty, inspiration and truth for ALL beliefs.
Originally posted by z00mster My son (6) just said that he saw on the (childrens') news that a new pope was elected. And I said "oh?" and started to check news sources on my phone to find nothing. He continued with saying something like, that with this new pope something would change. So I asked him what's going to change. He replied that "at least this pope is 'personal'" and that he would finally not be so bored anymore. So I asked a bit further about why the pope has anything to do with it. And he said, well because it's the pope. After that we kind of reached a dead end so we went about our business again. It's really weird because he hasn't been raised with any religion. Nor is anybody else in his environment. And the pope is not something that we discuss at home. Let's just say it's his vivid imagination. I'm just putting it up here to share and to have it documented. (Just in case.) Cheers

Why is it odd?
Saying "someone or something went to the end\ends of the world to look for someone\something" is a fairly common phrase. I think I actually said it earlier this week in a meeting at work when I was describing how I had to go to many different areas where I work to find something.
Nothing nefarious or odd about this commonly used phrase.Even more when you think about the context that the new dude used it under.
