well

people have been pretty patient and understanding with these sort of things.

Seeing as how that whole crowd is not content with that and they keep pushing to make grown ass adults feel like children when it comes to deciding for themselves, the response by them is to be expected.

We gave an inch and that crowd took a mile.

They can expect to lose every inch of ground gained. We are going to lose our F-ing minds, on purpose.

"Sick and tired", we are WAY past that. We are pissed. Some, are out for blood.

They must stop telling people what to do, stop imposing themselves on us, or some people will snap.

Grown ass adults being made to feel like idiots for everything except taxes and work. For those two things we are big boys and girls.....

I am not supporting anger here, but MANY of us in America are at our wits end already!

The so called Nanny state has gotten the better of us and it it's not going to be pretty.

I understand we have cultural differences.

The thing you dont seem to understand is that in America we are free to choose. It is not up to somebody else to make our decisions for us.

I dont know where you are from.

But this is the way society is in America and its important you understand that.

We are free to choose. You are free to think about it whatever you want, but frankly we never asked and honestly we dont care.

No, honestly.

You sound like Michelle Obama up in here.

Quite frankly we are fed up with it and sick of it.

Good day.

Have a good day txinfidel and thank you for trying to ruin a serious question asking thread.

I will not respond to any more of your comments as apparently reading through your different posts you are are either having a bad day/evening for which i feel for you or just looking for a fight, so just forget it "palms up"

And by the way, I DO UNDERSTAND i cohabited with many USA citizens and have many American friends so please don't judge me... you don't know me, you have never met me and probably never will, so what gives you the right to judge me?

Irish living in France "to make things clearer"

Oh, and i forgot to suggest : If you are fed up and sick of it then don't bother answering and leave valuable reading space for people who would like to contribute with constructive remarks please?

Kindest respects and have a good day

Rodinus

it was clear he was asking a question.... with some implications? you betcha (im a kite flyin momma grizzly)
but he was looking for a legitimate discussion not a trout waving competition like some people seem to take every discussion to be in fact im fairly certain parts of his post were in violation of the terms and conditions of this site

and if you cant control your emotions over a post like this .....well i never had high hopes for the direction humanity has taken anyway

I drink Water, so it makes no difference to me at all really.
I am not obese, so maybe there is something more to my statement
to take into consideration, really.

As an aside, I think some concern should be placed upon disposable Plastic
Items that are not currently on the recycle List.

Well, I've got a spider to catch,

You asked us how we feel about it. Im telling you how we feel. Not trying to sugar coat anything and by the way Im Irish too. We are sick of hearing about obesity when the majority of Americans are not obese. We are sick and tired of hearing about somebody else's problems that we cant correct. No action that I take will help some fat ass on food stamps drinking diet coke eating fast food and slowly killing themselves. We are tired of being punished for things that were targeting us in the first place.

I respect your concern. BUt you asked and its only fair I give you an honest answer.

I am taking the argument at face value.

as far as humanity.....

I dont hope for or condemn anyone of us.

There is a limit to the amount of consideration bullies deserve.

I don't think it's optimal for one's health to consume those large sodas with all that sugar in it, but it's their right to choose what they do with their bodies.

If this law was upheld I'm pretty sure they would move to ban Butter, Bacon, Burgers, Fries and everything that they deemed "unhealthy".

Yeah well the child support advocates told me that they had my childs best interest at heart.

Thats funny, cause they never wish her a happy birthday, send her christmas gifts or ask how she is doing.... No they don't do any of that.

And I am not an idiot..... I can tell the difference between somebody who cares and somebody who could care less.

he is clearly not a bully and i dont appreciate you trying to take the position of the victim
look at txinfidels post just prior to yours..... that is how he should have responded in the first place it gets his point across without being overly aggressive
agree with it or not it is a respectable position deserving of a respectable response
and i dont understand why you are defending that kind of behavior.... clearly txinfidel understands it was not appropriate to respond like that (but hey i understand why he was angry and we all crack a little now and again so i dont blame him) so why dont you?

maybe you could elaborate on your position a little rather than defending the reactions of another poster

it doesn't have anything to do with CPS. I was talking about child support advocates. But thanks for your kind words. Though I don't care to discuss. Just illustrating a point..

I explained my position.

And like I said I am taking the argument at face value. I am neither defending nor attacking anyone.

I understand the argument both ways.

BUT let me clarify, the bullies are those that want impose themselves on everyone else. In this case the bullies are the proponents forcing their ideals on everyone else.

I dont understand why you say I am playing the victim. I am simply stating my case and explaining the sentiment of frustration by people who see a never ending effort to force convert them to other peoples ideals and standards.

If the values they proposed were religious in nature, we would be up in arms. Look to history. People dont like it when the law (something socially sacred) is used to make personal agendas a reality for some while punishing everyone else who wishes to remain free.....

I'd be fine. I started drinking water on a regular basis about 6-8 months ago and now I can't get enough. I'm addicted to water. Now if only I could start feeling the same way about fruits and vegetables, I'd be all set.

You'd be fine?

OK, well lets assume then that you are fit as a fiddle, eat healthy all the time and occasionally want a large soda.

But because of people who think they're better than you, you cannot because it's been banned.

Or better, hows about we ban tap water because it's full of fluoride. And bottled water, because of all the plastics. And you can't drink rain water because you are breaking a law by trapping it in any way.

Where do you think you'll still be fine with things being taken away from your choices?

What you're saying here is "Sure, take my freedom, I don't use it anyway."

The issue is....banning......of anything.

Adults have the right to choose their poison......period.

Much agreed that you should be allowed to choose your own poison, BUT the figures according to the USA center for disease control and prevention states that over 37.5% of adults are either overweight or obese leading to obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer, some of the leading causes of preventable death (I have not yet found figures for children yet but will try my best)

See link : www.cdc.gov...

I smoke (but am trying to stop), i also like an occasional glass of good wine (i will not stop) and these are my choices, however, if someone takes the initiative to try and ban certain products that cause serious major population health problems which by the following lead to humongous amounts of public money ; (YOUR) hard earned money being spent to cover these problems... then think about it!

Kindest respects

Rodinus

Well then to save society money the best solution to childhood obesity is contraception. Put a stop to your fat making a fat child!

No? Bit extreme?

Hmm, what do, internet...

lets make it impossible for anyone to ever get sick. Ban going outside, breathing air, looking at things, listening to stuff.. in fact if you use your brain at all, you're breaking the law and should be penalised -- to save society money.

-Next we have to limit adults time on the internet (proven to cause depression-), salt intake (we will use ration cards), Fatty foods (lets allow the government to figure out a "legal" potion size) and myriad of other things to allow them to regulate our lives.

-Personally I am sick and tired and of- Oddly enough this never benefits the consumer either- You end up with smaller portions for the same or more money and extra taxes.

We have allowed this though and have nobody to blame but ourselves...When it started out targeting smokers (I am a smoker) nobody stood up for us and it was surprisingly Obese people yelling the loudest about the cost of MY HEATH CARE. Now they are coming after the Fat people...

When the Cigarette taxes were raised beyond common sense we were told a special "fund" was going to be used to allow smokers to get "help" quitting, with another portion invested towards health care of smokers without insurance... But then the "schools" needed the money to be tossed into their bottomless pit.

-Heres an idea...Mind your own business. My neighbor can inject sugar straight into his eye if he wants to and it doesn't hurt me- These same idiots proposing what I can and cannot do are the same idiots telling me GMO foods need not be labeled- Are the same idiots privatizing our prisons and offshoring our jobs.

If you people feel a 20 OZ Soda is too much- Heres an idea for you. Do not buy one. Or drink half... Why should I have to order 2 sodas now and pay more for the same thing?

-Oddly enough I barely drink Soda... If I go out I order a LARGE. So I drink maybe a LARGE Soda or two every month... Evidently I am a bad, bad man for this- BUT I guess its okay to drink 3 Medium Sodas every day...

-Tired of the nanny State. I am a grown man and I will decide what is right for my family.

# off and have a nice day... I bet I could find things about your life which I do not like and we should make them illegal.

i said you are playing the victim because you implied that the position taken by the op made him a bully which was not the case (he was not trying to impose himself or values on anyone was he?) and by implying that the opposition is a bully one could come to the conclusion that you see yourself as the victim of a bully
and if it wasnt the case that you were accusing the op of being a bully then the question becomes why did you bring it up? if nothing in his post was indicating that... it would become evident that you are projecting what you want the conversation to be in order for you to validate your own position

....but really the confusion here stems from the fact that you where either accusing the op of something he was not doing or bringing up a topic that was somewhat removed from the one at hand

either way this is the end of that discussion as we are beginning to delve into another topic entirely

I read the first line, and stopped.

I already said who the bully was IMO. Also, In my first post I explained to the OP that I did not direct my comments to him. I even said that I understand why he would post this.

If you can not read my posts before going at it, I will not read yours.

and, you are the only one making a big deal out of this.
