Nazi socialism, Commie Socialism.... Socialism is ALL the same... it is Statism which breeds corruption and cronyism. Ferfal has a wonderful quote on the subject:
As a political movement, socialism includes a diverse array of political philosophies, ranging from reformism to revolutionary socialism. Proponents of state socialism advocate the nationalisation of the means of production, distribution and exchange as a strategy for implementing socialism. In contrast, libertarian socialism proposes the traditional view of direct worker's control of the means of production and opposes the use of state power to achieve such an arrangement, opposing both parliamentary politics and state ownership.

I think that the OP proved his point, by all the negative responses to his thread.
People are so selfish and closed minded.....sadly, this is the best example of why we are DOOMED!

Socialism doesn't need to be installed. In the same was as Norway, Denmark, Germany did not really install (or convert to) "socialism" in the classic meaning of the word.
What we need is to fix SOME problems of unregulated capitalism, NOT "replacing" capitalism with an entirely new system. The problem: People see any modification to the existing system already as "socialism". They are entirely unable to see that current capitalism (in the US) NEEDS some fixes in some areas.
EXAMPLE: If we have free trade and outsourcing is freely allowed for whatever company, jobs get lost. There is no measure in place to counter this. The system CAN NOT only benefit the 1%, what is with the rest of the people? The entire problems we have NOW are all pretty similar, people are fed up with a system that only benefits a few rich ones and their profit. It's entirely absurd and we see the negative results anywhere.edit on 13-3-2013 by flexy123 because: (no reason given)

Capitalism is a theory and an ideal.
It is not and cannot be evil.
What you describe as being evil
capitalism is the administration of
capitalism by humans who have a
basic human nature that is evil.
