There is microscopic sentient life everywhere too...should I stop breathing as well?
If we weren't made to eat meat, it wouldn't taste so good to us...even with no BBQ sauce.

We eat mammals, our own kind. When you clean your turkey in the sink it feels just like your kid in the bath.

Boogers taste good to kids too, doesn't make it the food of choice to your body.

Your kid feels like a turkey!?
Hint: Turkeys aren't mammals.

Boogers compared to meat? One is full of energy (calories) while the other is filtered dust mixed with mucus. Kids eat dirt too...what is your point?

If God didn't want us to eat animals, he wouldn't have made them out of meat

OP brings up a good point for analysis... why are all you wild animals getting so defensive? Hes not asking you to stop eating meat... just to notice how bizarre it is that you do..

I think it is very weird... but I think the exception is that life is not immortal.. it dies... so instead of the dying things going into the soil to be used by plants... animals eat the dead things to get the banquet of nutrients directly.. animals have subsisted and evolved on the eating/recycling of each other... It is interesting how animals like cows and horses who are so strong and muscular eat mostly if not all diet vegetarian,, just massive amounts...

Ummm....If natural is bizarre then thus is our nature...It is also our nature to cause suffering and death each moment...simply by existing. Not one part of living...doesn't involve killing (I know, double negative redundancy)...This is the dilemma faced by every Buddhist and one of the most challengingly profound aspects of the meditative experiance...It's actually a very humanizing concept to accept one's nature through the realization that every moment of ones life causes death...it's very easy to rationalize that because the life form is small or creepy that for convienance sake, justification soothes the conscience.........But then...one realizes that "such is life" and life goes on. It's not really weird IMO, but it certainly is puzzling to say the least...But only in a philosophical sense.

"And the angel of the lord came unto me
snatching me up from my place of slumber.
And took me on high and higher still
Until we moved to the spaces betwixt the air itself.
And he brought me into a vast farmlands of our own midwest.
And as we descended cries of impending doom rose from the soil.
One thousand nay a million voices full of fear.
And terror possessed me then.
And I begged "Angel of the Lord what are these tortured screams?"
And the angel said unto me,
"These are the cries of the carrots, the cries of the carrots!
You see, Reverend Maynard,
Tomorrow is harvest day and to them it is the holocaust."
And I sprang from my slumber drenched in sweat
Like the tears of one million terrified brothers and roared,
"Hear me now, I have seen the light!
They have a consciousness, they have a life, they have a soul!
Damn you! Let the rabbits wear glasses! Save our brothers!"

Can I get an amen? Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Jesus.
Life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on life feeds on.
This is necessary." - Maynard James Keenan / Tool

I do think about this my friend, today I was eating a fried shrimp, and based on the feeling of my soul (for non believers, that is an unconscious meditation of realization far away from the ego) I could sense that the breading was a proper thing to eat, warm to the soul and the shrimp was cold to the soul being a body of living creature.

The earth was designed for dinosaurs in the early days, some where designed to kill. But for as smart humans are, I have not idea why we haven't put so much more effort into making nuts and other things with protein into things that taste like meat and give us the same fulfillment, instead they did the opposite and spring up fast food places everywhere. Notice how delis don't ever have drive thrus? Who said another person cared about us? So if another person doesn't care, it means don't trust the history books, don't trust the news, laugh at those people telling us things because you know they are liars without care.

If you can effect plants with music, & die when you cut them in half... I'm sure they don't enjoy being eaten.

other animals kill and eat other animals and humans are built more like carnivores than herbivores so theres nothing worng with eating meat, no it would be better if the aniamls at the feed lots were kept in better conditions that alot of them are

We treat them with zero respect. We don't breed them so they can live a life; we breed them so we can have meat whenever we want. We cut corners on their lives so we can live fat and confortable in ours. That is the travesty of the meat industry—treating animals as if they had no right to live, only the right to be our food.

I'd have to agree with this....

Eat freshly hunted or free-range meat , or live with the fact that you have taken part in the mass imprisonment, suffering and slaughter of some of Earth's most precious animals.

That's great and all...if we all happened to be lotto winners...and like paying many more dollars per pound for daily sustenance. No thanks. Besides, without proper legislation, it's almost impossible to really define those terms legally, so you may be paying for, and thinking you're getting meat that lived a good life, but it could all be bunk....

Umm... Not to point out the obvious or anything but take a good look in a mirror this morning. See those sharp pointy thingys on either side of your top front teeth? They're called Canine teeth and they're designed to bite, tear and devour meat. Our systems are not set up for eating plants. We're not herbivores, we're carnivores.

I've never quite understood where the self loathing and disgust comes from but at least the OP here acknowledges the fact we are eating the parts of other animals. I've been amused a couple times to helpfully explain to a rather self-righteous person holding forth on anti-hunting or something.....just what happens to the big feathery turkey from truck to grocery store meat section. Having worked at a poultry kill plant for a brief time in my youth, I have tales to tell too...... Perfect for a Thanksgiving Dinner the in-laws have spoiled, for instance.

Anyway... I not only eat meat, I've been known to shoot, dress and stock my freezer with the poor little critter myself. Nothing like fresh, unadulterated and non-drugged up meat to last a few months. Yummy!

Wrong, see those molars in the back rows of your teeth? We're not carnivores or herbivores, but omnivores with more herbivore leanings; we are able to eat meat, but it's meant to be a delicacy rather than a staple in our diet. Our bodies are better suited for the consumption of veggies, nuts, berries, fruits, etc, as opposed to meats.

The loathing for meat comes from the lack of humanity that goes into obtaining it; we're talking about sentient beings being massacred so some fat f*** can stuff his or her belly with KFC. Hunting game is drastically different from maiming, raping, and killing an animal in captivity. The cruelty that comes from the meat industry is what turned me off from it; humans committing inhumane acts.

This thread is such a complete troll.

That said in the not too distant future mankind should have the ability to allow us to incorporate the energy production from sunlight just like a euglena. At that point we won't have to eat any living things to gain energy. But until we can live by taking in energy directly from the Sun, or heat, etc something, animal or vegetable is going to have to die in order to sustain human life.

Humans suck up O2 faster than trees suck up c02. Maybe you should fight for abortion rights
And condoms instead. People are killing the life blood of trees. How about this. You don't have children.

Save the planet. Don't have kids. Give Trees a chance.

This thread and all of the arguments for or against the killing of animals for food will be irrelevant when Agenda 21 is fully implemented.

www.thekeytoeternity.com...

Please note that the proponents of Agenda 21, eugenics, and depopulation never offer to sacrifice themselves first for the cause. Most of them are left-leaning radicals or power elites at the top.

By the way, if you already have kids, you're part of the problem, not the solution. Save the trees,

There is nothing wrong with eating meat city slicker. I am so sick of vegans telling others what to eat. They forget animals kill each other to eat. I am Mexican American and I am not changing my eating habits for those white vegans who think they are better then everyone else. Part of my culture is eating meat.

Everyone seems to be missing the point.
OP is proposing why eat flesh when you can eat something that doesn't have a heart beat?
Why go out of your way to harm another being thats trying to exist with you?
If you have the brain power to rise above them, rise above them.
There is no need to eat animals other than "we want to"
Eating meat isn't even that healthy for you, along with many other things our society can't help but to indulge in.
We have plenty of other resources that are better for you and promote healthier lifestyles

You. Period.
